After Temperance left with her parents, I walked outside and stood by the front doors. The omegas were scurrying around to clean up the party as higher-ranked pack members left to go home. I nodded and acknowledged each one. I leaned against one of the columns with my arms folded.

A hand on my shoulder made me jump, but the scent told me it was my father. "Are you okay, son?"

I shrugged. "Just thinking, Dad," I replied just as I got a strange feeling, and Achilles became restless. A moment later, we heard Gamma Paul howling Temperance's name into the air.
