I walked out of that lab feeling more confident than when I walked in. Arianna kissed me—she actually kissed me.

This was good; she was coming around to being my mate. I knew that once she told me what was worrying her, everything would be okay.

As I arrived at the police station and walked in, Louie, as usual, was just sitting around, staring at the monitors.
