Today was the first day Emmalyn met Kinlee. I thought it was kind of hilarious to watch Kinlee running around, trying to simultaneously protect Clover and stay out of her way. Clover really didn’t like her.

I kind of understood. I wasn’t really the jealous type, but I saw a couple customers flirting with Val and a cool wind went through the shop. I never lost control of my magic, so it shocked me when Clover pinched me and told me to get it together.

Having a soulmate had a difficult learning curve. Especially with Val being part werewolf and part vampire. Both species bonded with their soulmates more quickly than witches did… aside from Clover. I really do believe that’s the influence of her animal magic.

This Sunday would be our first day entirely together. My parents wan
