Soothing the Bear

When we got back to the room, Stanton slammed the door behind him. I jumped a little, but I kind of expected him to be angry. I just moved someone else in with us without consulting him.

“What are you thinking?” He growled. “Do you want that boy, too? Do you think I’m going to permit you to keep any man you want?”

I turned and crossed my arms. He needed to learn to react more calmly. I wasn’t going to answer any of his questions if he chose to use that tone with me.

“That was why you ran off, wasn’t it? You wanted more than just me. If you think I’m going to share you, you’re wrong! You are mine. ONLY mine!” Stanton said as he reached out and gripped my upper arms.

“Are you almost done with your tantrum?” I asked dryly.

“Tantrum! I’m not a child! I’m your mate! He’s not coming home
