In a fluid, unified motion, the Karanlık propelled themselves upward from their horses and hovered ten feet in the air. Abysmal black eyes stared down with apathetic indifference while their hands licked like a translucent green flame. The female of the group lifted her arm, directing it toward the carriage. The verdant power shot out from her, destroying the cab in an explosive burst. Yet, amazingly, the bodies within it remained untouched, with a yellowish green forcefield having pocketed around them. With another flick of her fingers, the skeletal remains that Brett had wrapped in his cloak floated away from the other corpses and levitated toward the clerics.
