“I knew that she was up to no good from the start. I can bet with everything on me that she's working for Collins,” she added.

A lightbulb went off in my head when she finished, which made me pause. I deliberated on her words repeatedly until I could rearrange them in a way that could make sense to me.

“Did you say, Collins?” I asked.

She looked away before her eyes met mine again. “Well, yes, I did,” she answered in a voice lower than she had used before.

“So you know about the Collins situation? I thought that it was just between Louis, Jacob, and I.”
