Lyra's POV
As I am about to turn around, I become aware of someone else behind me. I turn around slowly, and behind me stands no one but the Crown Prince himself. I shake in my socks as I see his face.
What the hell is Sebastian doing here?
I hear Nate scrambling to get out of bed as Vitoria laughs.
"Her poor virgin eyes could not stand seeing us naked ... what a job. Miss Piggy ..." Victoria laughs.
It feels like time is standing still for a while as I hold my breath and wait for the chaos to erupt around me.
"Shut up, Miss Piggy is my tutor, and I cannot afford to lose her. She is my ticket to the company." Nate's words cut through my heart.
"Sebastian ..." I start, trying to stop him from going into that room. Although Nate has hurt me beyond repair, I do not want to see him die tonight. He's still my brother's best friend.
"Get ... out ... of... my ... way," Sebastian growls through his clenched jaw. His bag is thrown to the side as he pushes me out of the way, making me hit my head against the wall. I know he did not mean it. He is just very angry. After all, it is his brother and girlfriend naked in that room, and I am the one trying to stop him from killing them.
He kicks the door in, and I can only look on as he grabs the half-naked Nate and throws him against the wall, and has Nate by the throat.
Victoria scrambles to get out of Nate's bed and get her clothes on.
"Of all the nights ... you have to choose tonight to sleep with my girlfriend!" Sebastian shouts.
I do not know what to do. I stand there as a statue watching the scene unfold before my eyes. I should call for help, but it feels like I am cemented to the ground.
"It takes two to tango ... what happened, Seb? Lost the game?" Nate asks mockingly.
Sebastian's hold on his throat tightens, and I can see Nate going red in the face.
"NO! You know very well what is going on, you two-faced son of a b***h! You know they want to kick me off the team because of my grades! You are the one who told my father, ain't you? You want every f*****g thing I have ..." Sebastian growls in a low voice, and that makes him sound even more dangerous than when he shouted.
"STOP IT! Seb, honey, listen to me ..." Victoria shouts.
"Shut the f**k up, you w***e!" Sebastian shouts.
I walk forward. I have to do something.
"Sebastian," I say as calmly as I can. "You are better than this ... you do not have to hurt him ..."
For a second, I see sanity return to Sebastian's eyes.
"What do you know? This son of a b***h has been using you, and you still stand up for him?" Sebastian laughs bitterly.
"Miss Piggy, stay out of this! You are not making it any better!" Victoria shouts. However, I do not worry about her. I know I need to calm Sebastian down.
"I know, but they are not worth your wrath. Let go," I say, keeping my voice calm. “You can’t let them stand in the way of your hockey career.”
"Miss Piggy, I told you ... " Victoria starts. However, to both of our surprise, Sebastian listens. He let go of Nate.
"Lyra, you are right. They are not worth it. I would have killed him, but you calmed me down. Thank you. I do not want to go to jail for a piece of s**t like him, and a slut like Victoria," Sebastian says.
The rest of the partygoers have arrived and are taking videos and photos of the half-naked Victoria and Nate.
"Party is over! All of you f**k off out of my house!" Sabastian shouts. He picks up his bag and starts walking to his room with a crying Victoria behind him.
"Seb ... please, I can explain ..." She cries.
"f**k off and do not touch me!" He shouts. He pushes her off him, and she falls on the carpet, crying. She grabs his leg and tries to hold him back.
"Seb ... I love you!"
"Don't even say those words to me. Go home, Victoria. You have done enough damage here tonight," Sebastian says.
One of Victoria's friends comes to help her up as Sebastian kicks her off his leg. "Vicky, let's leave. Let him calm down first."
Vickoria tries to run after Sebastian, but her friends grab her and start dragging her away. She shouts and cries at the same time. "Seb!"
"I said out! All of you! The f*****g show is over," Sebastian says, before disappearing into a room, slamming the door behind him.
All Nate's friends scramble. Everyone listens when Sebastian talks. As they leave, I am about to leave as well, but Nate grabs my arm. I try to pull loose, but he holds tighter.
"Let go of me, you piece of lying s**t!" I shout.
"Sweety, listen to me. She seduced me ... I am only a man ... I have no feelings for her ... I only did it to piss Sebastian off ..." Nate says. I laugh bitterly.
"Which one is it? She seduced you, or you did it to piss Seb off?" I ask sarcastically.
"Both ... I was a little drunk as well," Nate lies again. I can smell his breath. There is no alcohol smell on his breath.
"So, you were drunk ... then she seduced you, and you thought, oh, wow, what a great idea to use her to get to Sebastian. You see, there are a few flaws in your story. First of all, you did not know Seb was coming home. Secondly, you do not smell like alcohol, and thirdly, to use your own words, it takes two to tango! Besides, I heard how you called me Miss Piggy behind my back." I feel the tension of the situation leave my body, and now all that stays behind is this pain that cuts like a knife through my heart.
"Oh, come on, Lyra. You know I like you just the way you are. You are my little Miss Piggy. I like Miss Piggy, she is cute ..." Nate says.
"Last warning! Let go of my arm," I say.
"My little Piggy, you know you love me ..." Nate says. That is when I lose it.
I turn around so fast it even surprises me, and I lift my knee, kick him so hard in the balls I expect him to spit them out. He let go of my hand, and as I walked away. I hear him swear in the background.
"You fat b***h! I never loved you! I never cared about you! Seb is right, I only used you! You ate up all my sad stories like that chocolate cake you love so much." He says bitterly.
I keep walking down the stairs to the front door and down the street that is cleared of all the partygoers' cars.
I would run if I could, but for one, I am too unfit, and for two, if I run now, I might fall.
I can not see through the tears that are now flowing like a waterfall out of my eyes. That is when I remember Seb's words. He can get thrown off the team if his grades do not improve.
I start smiling slowly through my tears as a plan starts forming in my head. Karma is a b***h, but it has nothing on me. I am a woman scorned, and there is nothing more dangerous than that.
