Pompino let rip a few fruity curses, and came up and kicked the door nastily. Tilda let out a single small shriek. Then she fainted clean away. She weighed a ton and a half.

We were in a serious predicament. If we were not suffocated to death, we’d be burned to death, and if we somehow managed to bash this door open, there were armed men beyond ready to cut us to death.
