Chapter 39

Roxy POV

I took a quick shower and checked on Grandma. She was lying on the couch, sleeping. It must have taken a lot out of her, being the first time out of the ranch since the incident.

Leaving her to sleep, I used my walker and headed out to watch the new trainees train. There were four bulls and two cows to check out. The walker did well on the gravel path, but I had to keep stopping and sitting. I was determined to make it to the ring. I missed the first bull but was there in time to see the one I was interested in; he had shown much promise so far. A ranch hand walking by helped me sit on the railing, and I clung like a baby clinging to her mother's back.

The bull did better than I had hoped. He was so graceful when not at all scared of the chute. Grandpa came and stood beside me
