Chapter 24

Vincent POV

Leaving the hospital was difficult, but I needed to take Mr D back home. Dad took Chris, and we left Roxy to sit with her Grandma. To say I was shocked when I saw Mrs. D would be an understatement; I was unprepared to see her in such a state. Mr D must be in a mess. I cannot leave him alone today or until Mrs. D comes home; at the moment, he seems to be in shock, and I am not sure what I can do to help other than continue to run the ranch and watch him close, make sure he eats and showers. I cannot let him sink into depression. He needs to be strong for when she comes home. That family had been through enough already; they needed something good to happen soon.

Mr. D ate the food I prepared, and after the meal, he helped me clean up. I feel he is just going through the motions
