Chapter 1: I'm...What Now?!
"Jennie!" Jisoo called as she was knocking loudly on Jennie's bedroom door. "Wake up! Breakfast is ready!" "Hmm...five more...minutes." Jennie groaned as she turned to the other side of her bed. "No, five more...days." She grumbled. "I'm going to tell your mom how lazy you're getting each day." Jisoo warned and Jennie got up as she groaned loudly. "I'm up, okay?! You're going to destroy my door!" Jennie said as she put her slippers on and went to the door and opened it. She saw Jisoo standing in front of her with a cute apron on and she waved the spatula she was holding magically. "Breakfast is served, your royal highness." Jisoo mockingly said as she curtsied. "Ugh." Jennie grumpily said as she walked passed Jisoo, basically ignoring her and went to their kitchen. She was greeted by a smiling Rosé when she entered the kitchen while she was preparing the breakfast on the table. "Good morning." Rosé smiled but Jennie didn't return the gesture. She groggily sat on the chair and sighed heavily as she propped her chin in her hand. "Not so...good morning for you I guess." Rosé chuckled. "You okay, princess?" Jisoo nonchalantly asked Jennie as she entered the kitchen too, removing the apron off of her and placed it on the handle of their fridge. "We heard a lot of sneezing last night." "What a dumb question, of course I'm not okay!" Jennie exasperatedly said. "I couldn't sleep last night and I couldn't breathe properly because of this stupid allergy." She complained like a kid as she crossed her arms. "Aw, poor Nini." Jisoo patted Jennie's head. "Let's eat before it gets cold." Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé were living together in a dorm for almost a year now. Jisoo and Rosé sleeps in the same room while Jennie sleeps alone in the other room. Jennie had this allergy thing for almost two weeks now but she didn't have time to go see a doctor. She sometimes kept on sneezing and she was always sorry for anyone that she was disturbing with her sneeze. Jennie doesn't like to sleep alone and the three used to sleep together in bed but they stopped ever since Jennie had this allergy and they ended up having colds as well, the two even noticed that it always gets chilly whenever Jennie sneeze while she's with them. Jennie transferring to the other room was a relief to Jisoo and Rosé because since then, they didn't catch colds. "How about try cleaning your room every other day? Maybe the dust in your room is the cause of your allergy." Rosé suggested. "You know I don't have much time to do any chores since I'm a busy person. I always get home tired from school and work." Jennie said. "As much as I'd like to help you clean your room, I don't want to end up having an allergy like you." Jisoo said. "Wow, thanks for that Jisoo." Jennie sarcasrically said as she glared at Jisoo. "Or if you don't have time seeing a doctor, why don't you take some vitamins for a while? Or maybe eating something healthy too?" Rosé suggested again. "Oh Chaeng, how I wish Jisoo thinks like you." Jennie dramatically sighed. "What time is it by the way?" She asked. "9:00." Rosé answered after checking the time on her phone. "What?!" Jennie said in shock as she jolted up and slammed her hands on the table, almost making the plates jump on the table. "I'm late for work!" She rushed to the bathroom to start bathing, leaving her breakfast a little bit untouched. As Jennie had started washing herself, she started to sneeze as she heard someone laugh. She thought it was Jisoo so she knitted her eyebrows in annoyance. "Why are you even there Jisoo?" Jennie yelled. "What do you mean?" Jisoo yelled back but Jennie got confused because her voice seemed from the distance. "I heard you laughing near the door! Don't even joke about it!" Jennie answered. "What are you talking about? I'm still eating here with Chaeng!" Jisoo yelled in response. Jennie was dumbfounded but she just dismissed it because she was already running late to work. After she took a bath, she rushed to her room. She went to the kitchen first to get a mug of coffee. But before she leave, she sneezed again. Rosé and Jisoo felt chilly when Jennie sneezed. "Whoa." Jisoo said, amused. "Did you feel that?" She asked. "That chilly feeling?" Rosé asked. "Yeah I did." She answered as she hugged herself and rubbed her arms to warm herself. Jennie sneezed again and the two felt even more chilly when Jennie walked closer to them. "You guys should clean this dorm, this allergy is getting worse." Jennie said then she sneezed again. Jisoo held Jennie's arm and forehead to check her temperature. "Your temperature seems normal, and winter just finished like two weeks ago." She said. "Why am I feeling cold all of a sudden?" "Oh gosh, are we sick now?" Rosé panicked. "What are you all talking about?" Jennie asked in confusion. "Don't you feel it? It's chilly!" Jisoo answered while she was rubbing her arms. "Hmm, I don't. Maybe it's because I just got out of the shower." Jennie said and then she sneezed once more. "It feels refreshing but am I allergic to water now too? God!" She shook her head and headed to her room while drinking the coffee. "Psst!" Jennie stopped in the middle of putting her clothes on and then she looked at her door. She annoyingly sighed. "Stop that Jisoo!" Jennie warned. "What did I do this time?!" Jisoo yelled from outside. "Weren't you there at my door?" Jennie asked, beginning to be confused again. "I'm washing the dishes!" Jisoo yelled in response. "So it's you then Chaeng?" "What? I just got here, I threw the trash outside." Rosé said. "Why?" "N-nothing. Never mind!" Jennie fixed herself but she began to sneeze again and she felt the chilly sensation the two was talking about. Jennie didn't mind, she put on a sweater and a thick furry coat and put a scarf around her neck instead then she went out of her room. "I'm going to go now." Jennie declared and the two looked at her, Rosé's eyes widened at Jennie's chosen outfit and Jisoo laughed. "Oh gosh, Jennie. You just made my day!" Jisoo bursted laughing as she was clapping like a seal. "Why are you covered in thick clothes?" Rosé asked in confusion. "It's not even that cold..." She pointed out. "Are you sure you're okay?" Rosé grew concerned. "But you all were right, it's getting chilly that's why I'm wearing these." Jennie gestured on the clothes she's wearing. Jisoo stopped laughing and she exchanged looks with Rosé. "Um, the temperature has back to normal though." Jisoo said. "Are you sure you feel cold?" Jennie paused for a bit, feeling the atmosphere of their dorm and she started to sweat. "Ugh, you're right." Jennie removed her thick coat and scarf and layed it on the couch. "I swear it was chilly when I was in my room." "What a weird way to start our day." Jisoo chuckled as she shook her head and started drying the plates with a clean cloth. "Aren't you late already?" "Oh s**t, I better get going! Bye!" Jennie said and rushed outside their dorm. She worked as a waitress in a restaurant meters away from their dorm. She sometimes takes a bus when she's running late to work, but she when she feels like walking, she would just walk her way to her work. She worked from morning until afternoon, but she only work on weekends. She was already one and a half hour late when she arrived at the restaurant. She went to the backdoor and she got startled when her boss was already in front of her, looking at her mad while tapping his foot impatiently. "What time is it Kim?" Her boss asked intently. "10:30 sir." Jennie quietly answered with her head hanging low. "I'm really sorry sir." She bowed her head very low. "I'm sick and have colds but I thought I should still come to work despite of my sickness." She reasoned. "I really tried my best to come here on time, but I'm sorry I failed." Her boss sighed and shook his head. "Okay, take a day off and rest. Come back when you feel better. I don't want our customers to be grossed out when they see you sneezing on their food." "Thank you so much sir. I do need it." Jennie bowed her head once again and tried her best to sound sick so her reason would be believable. "Now go home and rest." Her boss said and Jennie went out of the restaurant. Jennie sighed and she decided to walk on her way to their dorm. *** Lisa was beginning to get tired because everyone she was trying to ask for help ignored her as if she was just air. She doesn't really know but she felt like she's lost and needed to come back to her home but she doesn't know how or even where. She doesn't remember why she was there in the first place. All she knew and could remember was her name and she has to come back home. She's been asking for someone's help for almost 3 hours now but no one seemed generous to even notice her. But she didn't give up, she shouldn't. She saw a girl walking alone, her head was hanging low as if she was sad. Lisa didn't want to bother her but she thought it would be worth a try to ask for her help. The girl walked passed her and Lisa walked faster to catch her up. "Um, excuse me?" Lisa tried to get the girl's attention by lightly tapping her shoulder. The girl turned around, she swore their eyes met but the girl's face doesn't show an expression. "Hi, um...can you help me?" Lisa asked, but the girl didn't answer, instead she looked around her. "Um, hello?" Lisa waved in front of the girl's face. "Are you blind or something? I'm just in front of you." "In front of me? No one's in front of me." The girl said in confusion. Lisa was about to speak when the girl suddenly chuckled and shook her head. "I must be really going insane. Why am I hearing voices and why am I answering them back out loud?" The girl turned around and continued walking, leaving Lisa behind. "Hey, wait! You're not insane! At least you can hear me, I seriously need help so bad. Help me get back home please!" Lisa shouted but the girl ignored her just like everyone else. But Lisa didn't stop there. Someone just noticed her for the first time. She believed this girl would really help her get back home. And so she followed her. "Miss! Please, I need your help." Lisa begged but the girl plugged her earphones in her ears and Lisa could hear the faint music coming from the earphones. Lisa still followed the girl until they arrived at a dorm, she was guessing this was where the girl lived. The girl opened the tall wooden gate. Before Lisa could even stop the girl from closing the gate by slamming her hand against it, her hand passed through the gate. She gasped and looked at her hand closely. Was she just dreaming? She tried to touch the gate slowly and carefully this time, she almost passed out when she saw her hand passed through it again. "What the... Am I a...ghost?!" Lisa exclaimed.
