Eternal love or the final nail in the coffin...

Colleen Dawson doesn't know how beautiful she really is. She's waited a long time for the special night when she enters Club Fangtasy, nervous about her first time. Especially with a man who happens to be a vampire.

Ben Wilhelm won't reveal his age. (Isn't it rude to ask a vampire how old he is?) Ben's not looking for love; he's just looking for a warm place to sink his fangs for the night. When he sees the young woman across the dance floor, feelings are awakened deep within him that he hasn't experienced in over a century.

The revelation of a shocking secret organization raises the stakes, putting both their lives in jeopardy. What do you do when your survival depends on someone you don't really trust? Will the dark desires and forbidden attraction between a vampire and a human lead to eternal love or the final nail in the coffin?

Editor's Note: Lust for the Vampire is based on First Time with the Gay Vampire by Mark Pace. Lust for the Vampire is a straight version of the story.

Club Fangtasy
Colleen Dawson pulled her car into a spot behind Club Fangtasy. She left the engine running on purpose. She'd already driven by twice and circled the block as she decided whether she wanted to go through with her plans for the night. The nearest streetlight blinked intermittently causing weird shadows across Colleen's face. Somehow that didn't inspire confidence in her. The young woman looked toward the nondescript brick building with apprehension. Colleen picked up her cell phone from the console between the driver's seat and passenger seat. She slipped a headset over her ear and spoke into the microphone. "Call Kate." Colleen pulled at the hem of her too-short skirt while she waited for the call to connect. After one ring, a pleasant female voice answered. "I thought you might call around this time." "Hi, to you too, Kate." Colleen's nervous laughter filled the silence after that. "There's nothing to worry about," Kate said. "You've been ready for this for a long time." "I wish you were here. You know, for moral support." Colleen tapped her fingers on the steering wheel. "Sure, yeah. I can just see you with me by your side in there saying, 'Hey, big vampire stud, let's get it on!'" "Especially considering the way you dress!" "Yes, that would be quite a deterrent in a vampire bar!" Kate agreed with a genuine laugh. "Don't worry. You'll be just fine." "I hate to admit I'm nervous." "Everyone's nervous the first time," Kate dismissed. "It's natural." "What if nobody in there is interested in me?" Colleen asked, convincing herself more with each syllable that she should just slip the stick shift back into drive and get the hell out of there. "Colleen, are you kidding? Nobody interested! Have you looked in a mirror lately? Who could resist those cute dimples?" The young woman glanced in the rearview mirror. Even in the low-light conditions, she could see all her flawless makeup and the attractive way she'd styled her long, wavy hair. "You do know how beautiful you are, right?" Kate prompted. "I guess," Colleen shrugged her agreement, even though they weren't using video chat and couldn't see each other. "I hear vampires like younger women. You're what, twenty-five? Some of the vampires are bound to be hundreds of years old! It's perfect." "When you put it like that..." A beep interrupted the conversation. "I'm getting another call," Kate said. "You can do this, I promise. I'll even say a little prayer for you." "Thanks, Kate. I'll let you know how it goes." "I wouldn't miss it for the world! I'll be waiting for the details." Kate's mischievous smile came through in her voice. "I'll stay up all night – until the sun comes up if I have to!" Colleen laughed. "No pun intended, right?" "Never!" Kate said and then disconnected the call. Just like that, Colleen was on her own again. She pulled the headset off and chucked it on the passenger seat next to the phone. Colleen reached into the back of the glove compartment. "Come on, where is it?" she complained as she rummaged through the junk in her way. She pulled out a silver flask emblazoned with a logo consisting of a fancy design and the letters AMDG in red. Echoing Kate's words, Colleen told herself out loud, "You can do this!" The young woman knew that a little liquid courage (the more, the better) would go a long way in a situation like this. She twisted the cap off the silver flask. She brought the flask to her lips and tipped it vertically. Colleen sucked greedily until she'd drained every last drop. She tossed the empty flask onto the passenger side floor mat. She turned on the interior light and did a final quick check in the mirror. "Good to go," she told herself. Colleen finally cut the engine. She wrapped the thin strap of her tiny pocketbook over her shoulder as she exited the car. A minute later, Colleen Dawson took a deep breath and entered the doors of Club Fangtasy. * * * A shirtless bouncer stood in the foyer with his arms folded. The black leather strap around his right bicep really made the muscle pop. Colleen tried her best to avoid staring at the man's hairy naked pecs despite the fact that they were practically at her eye level. The small light fixture on the wall behind him reflected off the bouncer's bald head. He eyed Colleen with the same intensity he used on every newcomer who walked into the club. The bouncer reached up to scratch his goatee. A tattoo of a snake devouring a skeleton covered his forearm. Colleen fumbled in her purse to pull out her ID to prove her age. She couldn't complain that bouncers still found her face so youthful that they wanted proof she was over twenty-one. Colleen finally flashed a driver's license at the bouncer who nodded and jerked his head towards the inner room. She squeaked out a "thank you" and shuffled away from him. He grunted in response. Heads swiveled in her direction as soon as Colleen stepped into the dimly lit space. She swallowed hard. She could almost feel their eyes studying her. No, boring into her, reading her heart and soul. Knowing exactly what she wanted. She took a calming breath. Colleen knew a lot about vampires. There were no known cases or credible evidence of vampire telepathy. She'd have to rely on more traditional methods to get her point across. The mini-skirt that hugged her cute ass and the one-size-too-small blouse (that clung to and highlighted her boobs) left little to the other clubgoers' imaginations as to Colleen's intentions. The young woman carefully scanned the crowd, giving as good as she got when it came to sizing up the strangers. She knew it would actually be harder than it seemed at first glance to find a vampire in a place like Club Fangtasy. Real vampires were few and far between. Those who wanted to indulge in role-play and fantasy fulfillment, on the other hand, kept Club Fangtasy and countless other businesses like it filled with patrons night after night. A husky guy, not much older than Colleen, sauntered up to her. Before he even opened his mouth, his demeanor made it apparent that the poor guy had no game whatsoever. In case she had even the slightest doubt about her assessment, he removed it all with his opening line. "Hey, hot stuff, are you alone tonight?" "So far," Colleen answered casually. "Buy you a drink?" the guy asked while showing off his own glass. "Nah, I'm good." The man blinked, taken aback. The look on his face made it really simple to discern the thoughts going through his head. This isn't going like the self-help course promised. He tried again. He thrust his meaty hand at her. "The name's Drew." "Colleen here," she replied. Colleen did her best not to wince when she felt Drew's warm, sweaty palm in hers. After the quick skin to skin connection, Colleen surreptitiously wiped her hand on her skirt to get rid of Drew's sweaty residue. "So what does a pretty girl like you get into? Are you a sucker or a bleeder?" Drew inquired. "No need to ask you that," Colleen answered as she gestured towards the t-shirt which proclaimed: It's True. I Drink Blood! "You like?" Drew smirked. Colleen rolled her eyes. "If your human temperature flesh hadn't already given you away, your t-shirt would have. It kind of screams 'overeager fanboy into fantasy fulfillment and role-play.'" "Well, duh! You didn't think you were actually going to find a real vampire at a place called Club Fangtasy, did you?" Colleen smiled politely. "I just got here so I'm going to walk around a bit." "Yeah, I get it. I'm not your type," Drew told her with no animosity in his voice. "Well, if you change your mind or can't find what you're looking for and I'm still available..." He let his voice trail off, but the invitation came out loud and clear anyway. "Thank you for the offer," Colleen said trying to sound as sincere as possible since she saw no reason to hurt Drew's feelings. Still, she couldn't turn away fast enough. In her haste, she smacked right into someone else. Where had he come from all of a sudden, Colleen wondered. "Oh, excuse me," Colleen said in surprise as she suddenly found herself face to face and locking eyes with an alluring stranger in his mid-thirties. His impeccable clothing and attractive smile left Colleen breathless. "The fault is mine. I didn't mean to startle you." The seductively smooth voice tumbled from his pale lips. Colleen could barely get any words out to respond. She found herself tongue-tied like a studious teenage girl who bumped into the captain of the football team in the high school corridor. She could hardly rip her thoughts away from the man's stunningly handsome face. Colleen fought to control the inexplicable urge to reach up and run her fingers through the man's thick, dark hair.
