Her Mate

Chapter one. Walking into the bar, I never expected to meet another Wolf. I pull the hood of my jumper up over my head. I don't need to be pursued by an arrogant wolf. I left my pack because my brother was about to take over as Alpha, and I didn't want to be around to watch him ruin our pack. So I left to make my way in life, maybe find my mate, but not tonight. I want a few hours of freedom before I have to go back to the pack and endure my tyrant brother’s Alpha ceremony. I know I left, but I am not a silly wolf who goes to Rogue. I needed a couple of hours alone to gather my thoughts and not throat punch my brother. Today he was intolerable Jasmine do this or Jasmine get me that. Like I am his maid. When I am his equal, we are both of alpha blood, for crying out loud, but that is my brother always thinking women are beneath him or should be beneath him. I cringe at the last thought because that is how our pack works. The males are all about Braun and fighting oh and sleeping with anyone willing to participate, and the woman is here to breed. It makes me sick to my stomach, so the sooner I find my mate, the better then I can leave the pack for good and start my life enjoying the little things it has to offer. A glass of whisky gets placed in front of me, and then the chair next to me gets pulled back, and I catch the smell of fresh rain hitting me. My wolf stirs, and I look over at the wolf who has sat beside me. I notice he has hints of blue in his hair, meaning he isn't from my pack, but he is of alpha blood. His eyes are a baby blue like the sky on the clearest day. I smile at him, hold up the whisky, and take a drink enjoying the burn as it goes down. “Thanks,” I say as I place the glass back on the bar. He chuckles, and it sounds like music to my ears. “That bad, huh,” he says, nudging my knee with his. I sigh. “If by bad you mean that my arrogant brother will become Alpha on the full moon, and I get to sit back and watch him ruin our pack by going to war with a neighbouring pack a bad day, then yeah, it's been one of those days.” I blurted out, not knowing why I dumped all of that onto the poor guy who brought me a drink. I look down at the new glass of whisky in front of me and place my hands around the glass tracing the droplets with my fingers as they slide down the glass. “Yeah, that sounds like a pretty bad day,” my mysterious wolf says as he orders two more drinks for us. So I look over at him and wonder what the deal is and why he is sitting next to me when there are a dozen other chairs at the bar. Why did he choose to sit next to me? “Why are you being kind to me?” I ask, not used to a man being nice or doing something for me. He looks at me and smiles. “Because where I come from, we treat women with respect, and since my wolf was intrigued by you, I thought I would come to say hello, and it seemed like you needed a friend to talk to.” He holds out his hand. “I am Sean Hendrixson, the future Alpha of the shadow moon pack.” I take his hand and shake it. I feel a zap and warmth. Run up my arm and look up at Sean in shock. “Uh, Jasmine Williams from the Dark moon pack.” I say, not sounding as confident as I felt a moment ago, I take the hood off my head then, quickly drink my drinks then go to leave, but sean grabs my arm and stops me. “Jasmine, don't go stay a little bit longer.” He takes a strand of my hair between his fingers and smiles. “So you are Vincent's Daughter and Hamish’s twin sister.” I frown, then Nod, “that's me, the one who sleeps with the omega’s in their living quarters because only Alphas and their mates get the packhouse.” Sean furrows his brow “but you have Alpha blood. Why do you live with the omega?” I sit back down and then face Sean. “When my mother died, my father lost his way and changed and couldn't bear to look at me, so after her funeral, he moved all my belongings to the omega quarters, and I have been counting the days until I find my Mate so I can leave.” Sean chuckles and nods. “Well, maybe you found your mate, and you haven't realised it yet.” I tilt my head, Knowing that Sean is my mate, but I can't accept it. I have to wait until after the Alpha ceremony to take my belongings. “I know I have found him, but I have to wait until after the Alpha ceremony. Then you can whisk me away. And I don't ever have to return to my pack again.” Sean frowns. “No, I don't like that idea. Knowing you have to sleep in the omega house, my wolf is mad. So how about I go tonight and get you out of the house?” I shake my head then smirk. “You can drive me home, then come back tomorrow and get me!” Sean thinks about it and then clicks his tongue. “I don't have a choice, do I?” I shake my head. “No, Sean, you don't. I have some things I need to do before I leave, and my best friend Stephanie is there. I can't leave her behind.” Sean smiles. “Now I understand, Jasmine. I will come for you and Stephanie tomorrow morning! Now we have a plan. Let's enjoy the little bit of time we have together before I give to take you home.” He orders us another drink, and I begin to feel finally free of my family and the horrible things they have done to the pack since the passing of my mother. I only hope I can get Stephanie out before my brother realises that I have gotten her out of his grip as she is the only wolf my brother hasn't taken to bed. Stephanie saves herself for her mate and always hides from him because she fears he will take her against her will. Sean rests his hand on a mine, taking me from my thoughts, and I look up at him. “Everything will be okay, Jasmine. I promise you I won't leave you or your best friend there a moment longer than needed.” He leans in and kisses my cheek, and his lips leave a tingle behind, and my belly warms when I walk into the bar. I never expected to go with a mate. *Sean’s POV* When Jasmine walked into the bar, my wolf was restless, and the smell of fresh strawberries filled the Air. I felt possessive of her immediately and wanted to keep her safe my blood boiled when she told me who she was. My father was told that Vincent’s Daughter died in a rogue attack. So tomorrow, when we get here, I will have my father with me and his beta and my beta in training. If they want a fight, we will give them a good fight. I know Kade, my Beta, will fight for Jasmine and her friend, especially when I tell him Jasmine is our future luna. I look at her, Violet's eyes showing so much emotion, and I want to hold her, but I know I can't rush our bond, and I want to get to know her and show her that not all males treat women with such disrespect. “Do you want another drink?” I ask her, and she shakes her head. “No, but I could eat!” She says, and I stand up and leave some money on the bar, then take Jasmine’s hand, and we go and get some food from a bit of cafe not too far from here. I notice Jasmine’s small size, and how my hands look big against her hands, the violet in her hair shows she is of Alpha blood and also signifies the powers she has. “How old are you, Jas?” I ask. She looks up at me. “I just turned 20. How old are you?” “22, I say, but age doesn't matter,” I say, bringing her hand to my mouth and kissing it. I notice her cheeks heat up, and her eyes connect with mine. My wolf whispers, “Mine” I grin and agree with him she is ours to love and protect, and We might have an enemy in the Dark moon pack if tomorrow goes wrong. “Is it bad I don't want to take you home?” I ask while I put a fry into my mouth, watching Jasmine pick at her burger. She looks up at me and places her hair behind her ear, then shakes her head. “No, it isn't bad because I don't want to go home, but I can't leave Steph, so I have to return for her and my belongings. I have things from my mum I can't leave behind.” She says as she takes a small bite of her burger, and I frown. “You are not telling me, I say as I eat another fry.” She nods. “My brother wants Stephanie, and she is frightened he will take her against her will, so I have to try at least and get her out of his reach because I know if he hurts her, she won't survive.” I take both of Jasmine’s hands into mine. “Where would Stephanie be now?” Jasmine looks up at me and then frowns. “She would be in the kitchen. Why do you ask?” I smile. “Because I have a plan since your father can not say you are missing or ask for help from other packs to find you, I think we go back and get Steph tonight.” I wait for Jasmine to think about what she has said, then smiles. “You are right, but how will you come in undetected?” She asks, and I grin. “I am not going in. We will set a meeting place you go in and get Stephanie and the belongings you both want to take and come to me where I will take you both into my father, and he will make you part of our pack.” Jasmine nods. “Then what are we waiting for? We won't have much time. They lock us in for a night because my father knows I will leave the first chance I get” I get my phone out of my pocket and hand it to her. “Put your number in,” I say, and she frowns. I don't have a phone; Sean, my father, forbids me from having one.” so I take my phone back and call Kade. “meet me at the cafe on the main street and hurry.” I hang up the phone then we wait for Kade. I give Jasmine my phone “keep it on you. I will message you from Kade’s number when we are in a position. If you get locked in, we will come to get you out.” Jasmine stands up and walks to my side of the table, then leans in and hugs me. I bury my nose in the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent and wrap my arms around her. “It will be okay, Jasmine. You will be safe with Stephanie in my pack tonight in the Alpha quarters with me, and Stephanie will be on the same floor.” She holds onto me for a while longer, then sits next to me and rests her head on my shoulder, and we wait for Kade to arrive.
