Prologue
The year 2002 ***Unknown POV*** "The Queen Of Covens is Dead!" I yelled and my people cheered with excitement. "Our allies have succeeded in destroying the other Covens that are loyal to the Royal Coven." The cheering became louder as I gave them the news. "We have waited long enough for this day. So a few more years wouldn’t hurt. Right now, we have an advantage. No one knows that it is the royal blood in which we are bound to these lands. Those who did are now dead. However, the Alpha with which we share an alliance has informed us of one that knows and that a body hasn’t been found. We will remain in the shadows as if our borders haven't been torn down. Only a select few will be permitted to leave, they will be in search of this person as well as the missing grandchildren of Alice Hansley!" I said her name, since I nor my people considered her or her bloodline our kings and queens. As I concluded my speech, I stood there on the balcony for a few moments and watched my people cheer for the victory. As it began to die down, I dismissed the crowd before I turned from my balcony and walked back into the room. "It's nice to know that your people are not taking offence to the fact that their own kind has almost become extinct in just one day." A familiar voice said as he walked out from the dark corner. "Crowley." I greeted him with no emotion. "Let us pour a drink, to celebrate our win." I poured two glasses as he shook his head. "Alpha Leo has fallen by the hands of Fredrick Caster," He said, and I stopped pouring to make eye contact. "Not dead, just under a spell that only one of his blood can remove." He added. "So why can't we get it removed? That Alpha is to be King of the werewolves and he is the main ticket in this war if you want to return your master, our master." I asked and he came closer to me, spreading that dark deadly aura that causes fear to rise. However, I did my best to hide it despite the sweat that began to form from my pours. "Because as it so happens to be. His bloodline has now been shared with the royal bloodline. The Alpha had managed to kill his son, which enraged him to place the spell in the first place. Which also means that the only ones left to undo the spell are.." "His grandchildren." I finished as I placed the bottle in my hand down on the table. "What about his mate?" I asked as I sat in my chair behind the table. "We can't find Frances anywhere. The beta, Josh, reported he hadn't seen her on the battlefield." Crowley reported. "Besides, she won't be of use to us, if anything, though, she knows a lot about what has happened and what is to come. She was Alice's best friend and her Adviser after Lucy had killed Andrew many years ago." He explains. "But, I do have someone that can remove it. The only problem is, Alpha Leo's chosen mate, doesn't know about the deal Leo and I had made. She is in charge right now since the next Alpha is injured. The Luna of Silver Claw has his body hidden away in their pack house." He gritted his teeth. "So I assume you kept the other twin alive since you kidnapped her a year ago?" He nodded to my question. "I had a feeling she might come in handy." He shrugged while rubbing his chin. "So where is Lucy now?" I quirked a brow as he mentioned the demon that almost ruined his plans while Alice was a new queen. "You do understand that I cannot control her, she is probably off somewhere wreaking havoc. It's been years and if I know that demon, she will spend her freedom plotting and scheming to kill your kind, since your goddess imprisoned her." I frowned at his words, although Hecate was my goddess, I, just like my ancestors, have always served another. "Remind me again why you can't just walk into the packhouse and have the child undo the spell." I changed the subject. "Two reasons. One, that damned Alpha figured out how to keep Demons away from his pack house. And two, the child is inexperienced in the spell. I will groom her and teach her the many spells of old. I figured that since she had no memories of her life as a royal, she would become loyal to me." The demon practically bragged and I had to give it to him. I liked the plan. "Well, I will have the best of my people searching for the other grandchildren and the Commander was it?" I asked. "Waylon Moore" he gritted his teeth at the mention of his name. "I take it you dislike him." I chuckled. "I despise the damn Warlock. He wasn’t on the battlefield because he hadn’t been at the Castle for years," Crowley said in anger. "And you know this how?" I asked. "I have been hunting him for the past few years, every time I get close, he slips through my fingers. I thought that using the twins would draw him out, but it seems the spell works two ways. Alice knew that when I took the child a year ago that I intended to use her to trap Waylon. With her dying breath, she did a spell. I didn’t pay attention to it then, but now I know she did the forgotten spell. Everyone Nora knew and everyone that knew her no longer remembers her. Which, in a way, is good, I will use that as my advantage just as you will use it to your advantage that the queen of your kind is dead.." I slammed my hands on the desk. "She is not my queen!" I sneered, finally letting anger take over. The demon laughed. "You will have your people find Waylon." He said, ignoring my anger and brushing off my words. "Why do you want him? You say you have been looking for him for years? I know that the Alpha wants him dead because he became the chosen mate of his fated mate. I want him dead because Alice would have told him everything about us and what imprisoned our land. So, why do you?" My question seemed to anger the demon and I wanted to laugh but instead decided against it. "I want something that he has." The demon's demonic voice sent chills down my spine. "As you said, he was close with Alice, he was her second and she would have told Waylon what I sought." He added, and I was as confused as ever about what he was really after. "Which is?" I tried to push as I downed the glass I had poured a moment ago, to make me bold. I also needed to relax my trembling body from the aura he was sending my way. "It is not of your concern," he growled. "I just need him alive before you think of killing him. Beat him senseless when you find him. Warlocks do not heal. That should do the trick for him.." He trailed off as if he was about to tell me what he needed from Waylon. I wanted to glare at him but I needed his alliance if I wanted my revenge for my ancestors. "Very well. Meanwhile, what do you propose we do about the werewolves, since we no longer have the Alpha to command them? Will the Luna agree to continue the deal?" We needed a solution to our most important problem. "I did try his beta, however, he is loyal to the Luna now that his Alpha is unavailable. The Alphas son was the most obvious choice but he wouldn’t make a deal with me, seeing as he would also be loyal to his mother." The demon was crossing out the list slowly. "Mutts," I said in disgust. "Alpha Leo has a grandson. However, he is too young. But I can work with that. I will slowly steer him in the direction I need. It will take time, but when the opportunity presents itself. I'll be ready." An inhuman smile formed on his face. “What if he doesn’t agree to the deal that his grandfather made?” I needed to know of whatever plan he had in case his main plan wasn't executed. “Then I will have him killed. Don’t worry yourself too much. I have a royal witch that, with the proper training, will be able to do a spell that was done years ago by your very ancestors.” The reminding of our imprisonment quickly came to mind. “You mean the one that had us trapped this entire time?” I asked, with a frown plastered on my face. “I have many plans in place, when the time is right it will all fall into place.” He turned and walked into the dark corner which he came from. “Remember, I want him alive.” He repeated his earlier words to remind me of Waylon. I was happy that we were finally free from this place, but we had to be careful about the outside. The council didn’t even know that by helping the wolves rid the other covens they were also freeing us in the process. They didn’t even know that the Alpha was doing the works of a demon. The Alpha knew of our alliance, but thanks to me being a witch, I had him do a blood oath to not tell anyone. I chuckled for a few minutes and it echoed in my room. If we succeeded, I bet it was something that Alice did not see coming and, with her gift, I thought she would. “Oh, Hecate..” I said out loud for her to hear me if she was listening and watching. “You imprisoned our ancestors here, so we will free the one you fear will return... And he would return.” I promised and I will follow through with that promise.
