My forbidden mate

Hate is a strange feeling, and any one event can cause years of fighting and chaos. For my kind, our hatred is aimed towards vampires and has been since the dawn of time. As for my kind, humans call us werewolves but we're actually called shifters. There are many kinds of shifters, wolves and lions, tigers and bears, even snakes and Phoenix's for example. Our pack is named Moonlit Bats, a bit ironic but we love the name. It does have a few pros and cons, a pro would be rogue wolf shifters stay away thinking it's vampire land, you'd have to be a stupid rogue to attack a land full of vampires. But a con is vampires always come to see if we're a new pod of vampires that was lucky enough to find unclaimed land. You see with shifters claiming land everywhere, the vampires are forced to live among humans or in caves. Let me tell you, those human myths about them hating sunlight, garlic, crosses and holy water are untrue, they don't die or get hurt by them. They do drink human blood but only when necessary, they prefer shifters blood, or regular animals. So my pack have to constantly fight off vampires on our land, we had later found out that our pack name is a vampire legend and they think we're a lucky bunch of vampires. I found that out from my best friend, Bellianna Wing Vanpir, daughter of the king of vampires, Saint Lucien. Bellianna is short standing at 5'3 with bright green eyes like her father, and had blood red hair. We met when her father sent her as a messenger to the new pod to come to him for questioning, curious how we got land. Instead of threatening us or being snotty with us she was actually very talkative and cooperative with us, immediately she knew who I was from a glance. Rose Astrid Moon, daughter of the most powerful Alpha in America. You didn't need to know my name to know who I was, I'm the spitting image of my father, except I have my mother's black hair, while my dad has dark brown hair and have grey blue eyes, where he has grey eyes and I'm 5'8 feet to his 6'7. Vampires don't keep up with pack names, they just call us shifters and we call them bloodsuckers. She and I talked together and with the pack, she was under a lot of suspicion at first but they quickly accepted her because of me, the future Luna of my pack. It's been 2 years since we met and we still see each other daily, she moved in town to get away from her family. I met her father once and understood why she left, he was a bit protective and overbearing. He didn't want his little girl to leave home to be by herself, but he eventually accepted it. He didn't hate me but wouldn't go far to say he liked me. We go to the same high school and have a few classes together, most of my friends didn't like her at first, with her being a vampire and them being shifters it was natural they were on alert with her. But she showed no interest in our blood once, she even said she preferred human food to blood. Apparently her older brother is the same way, I haven't met him yet but he is coming to town to see his little sister, meet the pack and I then see our school. Open house is in a week and Bellianna is freaking out on our way to the pack "Omg Rosey what if my brother hates my apartment? Oh god what if he hates you and the school? He'll try to drag me back home and I don't wanna leave!" I smiled at her outburst, used to her having them often and shook my head as we entered the pack borders "Belli calm down, your brother loves you right?" She nodded while sniffling a bit, I smile at her and give her a side hug "well if he really loves you then he wouldn't force you back home and away from me, if he tries I'll punch his face!" I cracked my knuckles and Belli grinned at my threat, "well I feel better now with your protection. Let's hope you don't break his nose though, I think you'd like him, he's a bit cold at first but he's nice. You'd make a cute couple Rosey, you all snuggled up with a vampi-" Before she could finish she was shoved from behind, I growled and turned to see who did it, and when I saw who it was my growl got louder, "Axius… why did you do that?"
