The Nightmare Chronicles: Episode 1

In 1993, 15 year olds, Jonathon Arkes and Jeffery Johnson got snow comes from their local gas station. They both were obsessed with popluarity so they did idiotic stuff for attention. Jonathon tried doing a trick he learned on his skateboard and he broke the snow cone machine. Richie, who was a cashier, told Jonathon he needed to pay for the property damage. The only problem with the punishment was that he didn’t have the money to pay the cashier. He only way to get the money was to get a job at the gas station and work for the money. Jon’s parents were furious about the situation and they grounded him from hanging with his friends after school the entire week. The next day, Jeffery went to school and waited for Jon to arrive like he did every morning. Jon showed up and he was mad. He ranted on and on about how his parents aren’t allowing him to hang with his friends after school for a week. “Dude, it won’t be that bad,” Jeff told him. “Maybe you’re right,” Jonathon replied. They both walked to class right before the bell rang. The entire class period Veronica Light kept going giving Jonathon goo-goo eyes. She stared at him for a while until the teacher told her to pay attention to her work. At the end of class she walked over to Jonathon’s seat and asked him to go to the boo bash with her. He accepted the invitation and then he walked to Jeffery. “Let’s go, I got a date to the dance,” he said. “That’s Saturday and aren’t you grounded?” Jeff replied. Jon didn’t know what to do know because he liked Veronica and already said he would go with her. Later that night Jon figured out that he’d sneak out and then his older brother Ronnie could cover for him. He discussed his plan with his brother and it sounded like a solid plan. He opened up his closet door and looked for an outfit. He found his dinosaur costume and he figured it would be great for the boo bash. He tried it on to see if it still fit, luckily it did. The night of the dance, Ronnie walked into the room and made it look like Jonathon was in his bed asleep. Jon put on his costume, opened his window, and snuck out. He ran around the block to Jeff’s house and got a ride from his mother, she didn’t know Jon had been grounded. They pulled up at the school and brought their tickets. The boys went in and saw Veronica. She was dressed up as a creepy clown. They danced around and talked the entire time. Veronica asked if Jon could hang the following day and he said yeah. She gave Jonathon the address of the place which was an away game of basketball for their school. The dance ended and Veronica went home. Jeffery’s mother was in the back of the line and he looked upset. As soon as the boys got in the car she yelled at them for sneaking Jon into the dance. “If you think I’m mad, wait until you speak to your parents,” Jeffery’s mother said furiously. She drove Jon home and he was scared of the consequences for disobeying and sneaking out. Jonathon walked into his house and was instantly screamed at by both parents. He was sent to his room that he shared with Ronnie. His brother was sitting there drawing. “Why’d you bail on me?” Jon asked. “I went to shower and I guess they came to see why you went to bed so early. I can’t help it that I needed to be cleaned,” Ronnie replied. Jon told his brother about the date he had in the morning. Ronnie grinned and pulled the window blinds open. Wood was covered on the window so that it couldn’t be opened. “They figured you’d sneak out again,” he said to his younger brother. Jonathon sent a SMS to Jeffery telling him that he was unable to sneak out of the house for his date in the morning. He sent Jeff to the game and told him to tell Veronica that he had some last minute plans he needed to take care of. The next morning Jeff went to the basketball game and told Veronica. She was understanding and hug out with Jeffery the entire time instead. After the game, Jeff and Veronica got invited to go hang out with a girl named Jackie who was best friends with Veronica. They went over to a graveyard to tell spooky stories. Jeffery made up a story about a demon clown who ate people’s brains and Jackie told one about a vampire who had been resting in that very graveyard for centuries. The vampire was supposedly disturbed by children and it came out of resting to kill the children and the rest of the city, which was built over its old home. They asked Jackie why her story was so realistic and she said that she heard it on the dark web and it was cool because the urban legend took place at the graveyard they were at. The 3 kids went over to the grave that it was supposed to be at. They dug up the casket, it took them all to lift the cover off. Veronica looked inside and a corpse of a vampire was in there. “Holy crap it’s real!” She said. They lifted up the cover and put it back on. They ran away and went back home. “Never again,” Veronica said scared.
