Prologue.
Blythe. I crouched in between the shrubs and tree roots, my hands digging into the layer of freshly fallen snow, barely feeling the sting against my exposed skin as I waited patiently for the Royal party to reach the narrow dirt road that cut through the forest.            The party had traveled South to bury the late King on the banks of the sapphire river where he could overlook the green valleys and mountains in the life beyond.                                               It was tradition to bury the Royal family in the South as the North was too cold and the bodies wouldn’t decay.                  My eyes narrowed when the Royal carriage came into view. It was made of white wood, steel and silver, drawn by two black warhorses the size of lions. The Royal crest fluttered in the sharp winds, a white bear painted on a black flag and carried by a party of riders both following and leading the party.                       I had learned that within the carriage resided Prince Zane the second of the late King's five sons and his third born, Prince Navil.                                                                                                             The next in line King had passed around an hour or so before which made it the ideal moment to strike, seeing as the guards were less and so was the likely hood of being caught.   My gaze turned from the carriage to the men riding on horseback, surrounding it on all sides. Some had arrows, others only donned swords. As a thief I preferred the enemy to use close range weapons, as it meant that I could easily dodge and slip away, but arrows made it hard to ambush almost anyone who had a bow, not just a Royal wagon.                                                             I gritted my teeth and tried to think of the quickest way to slip into the carriage. If I could just get inside, it would provide cover from the arrows.                                                                        I stood upright on the slope, rolling my shoulders back while waiting for the wagon to near. When it was just below me, I stepped off the edge and plummeted toward the earth, landing in a low crouch on the wagon’s roof.                                                             The horses halted, rearing back from being spooked, the men were caught off guard which gave me enough time to react. Shouts and whinnies echoed throughout the woods when I hoisted myself up onto my arms, over the far side of the carriage near another slope and kicked my way through the wood that shielded one of the windows.                                                      I landed on the balls of my feet and bowed, one arm in front of my waist, the other behind much like a man would bow.   "My Lords" I greeted the shocked Princes, only to be stunned myself.                                                                                      The grin I was wearing turned into a look of shock and horror at the sight of not Prince Navil but instead the next in line King, Prince Nixtoni, first born of the late King Theon.                        An arrow was strung when the horses dragging the carriage took off running at a sprint. An archer managed to catch up, nearing the open window with his arrow drawn back.                          There was a sharp whistling sound as it flew through the air, into the window and straight for my head.                                   My arm moved on its own accord, hand wrapping around the stem of the arrow and stopping it mere inches away from my face. I snarled, twirling the arrow in my grasp and stepping forward.                                                                                   "Brother!" Prince Zane exclaimed when I placed one foot on the bench beside the next in line King, trapping him in place with the arrow pressed firmly against his throat.                                The first Prince hardly seemed phased by the blade, his eyes instead focusing on me, my face, my icy blue eyes and the short silver hair that framed it and hung to just below my shoulders. He noted the old, white undershirt that I wore whenever I would take the form of a human. It was then that I realized I had nothing on underneath, the shirt usually dangled down to below my rear but with my leg raised.                               I glanced down at myself, embarrassed then looked back to the Prince who met my gaze with his green eyes, the color of Southern fields.                                                                                     I quickly moved to grab for the silver necklace that dangled around his neck, standing out against the black silk of his Royal mourning attire. I slipped it over my head just as the carriage came to a sudden stop.                                                    I glanced toward the window realizing that they had finally managed to stop the spooked horses. I turned back to the Prince, my eyes narrowing onto him for a split second before a Knight wrenched open the wagon door, drawing his sword with the screeching of metal.                                                                                      I was about to turn when he slashed the weapon down at me but if I did then Prince Nixtoni would most likely take the brunt of the attack so instead I used the tip of the arrow to deflect his blow, one foot returning to the floor as the other knee braced my weight against the back of the bench beside the Prince's head.                                                                                             Prince Zane looked on in horror while his brother remained perfectly calm. My nakedness no longer bothered me as long as I could escape and the Prince's remained unharmed                       "Disgraceful b***h!" the Knight threw at me, his sword digging into the floorboards of the carriage. He quickly wrenched it free and slashed at me again. I kicked away from the bench with my foot and turned, planting myself on the Prince's lap with my legs part while I raised my free hand to block the blow.                      I cried out in pain when the metal dug into the flesh of my palm. The power behind the sword managed to force me further to the floor, the upper half of my body leaning forward, the arrow dropping from my free hand, it too moved to grip the blade. I now had it in both hands, my elbows barely scraping the wooden flooring as I searched for a way out.                                                  The Prince's necklace cluttered against the floor and my arms began to burn, red liquid dripping from my hands, staining the floor, the wood.                                                                              My eyes shot toward the knight's boots then back to the floor. I slid my hands along the length of the blade to grip the tip of it then pulled on it. dragging the knight forward and forcing me to lean back on the Prince's lap so that my back was pressed up against his chest.                                                                              I could feel his lips against the top of my ear, his breath brushing lightly against the side of my face. That pared with the friction of his thigh against my exposed core made a soft moan escape my lips.                                                                               The Knight staggered and tumbled forward, losing his grip on his sword and attempting not to collide with Prince Zane in the process.                                                                                       I stabbed the sword into the floor between my legs and bolted. I didn't dare look back when I slipped through the door, hoisting myself onto the wagon’s roof then sprinted for the opposite side of it where I flung myself into the mess of trees and snow and rocks.                                                                                   Arrows flew from above when I landed on the balls of my feet then took off running, tugging the shirt and necklace over my head, tossing them into the air.                                                     I shifted, my bones snapping, skin tearing to reveal grey fur as large paws struck the earth at a running pace, replacing the small feet that had left it. I caught the shirt and necklace in my jaws and ran at full speed deep into the heart of the forest.         It was a speed that not even a warhorse could match.     Prince Nixtoni   A woman leaped in through the closed window of our carriage and she was a woman indeed.                                                        It was clear when she propped her foot up on the bench beside me, her bareness catching my eyes with little attention to the arrowhead that dug into the skin of my throat.                                 Her eyes captured me next, such blue eyes, as blue as the midday skies in the South, but they were cold, frozen over like ice when they gazed upon me with a fierceness to them.                  Her hair was the color of the Royal throne, the same polished shade that seemed to glisten like snow in the slightest of light.                                                                                                             "Brother!" Zaniel called from beside me, his voice filled with shock, he couldn’t see her nude parts and was instead taken by surprise.                                                                                           Her small hand reached for the chain around my neck, something I held dear since it had belonged to my mother and had the bear of our family crest dangling from it. She then tugged it over her head so that it could dangle in between her exposed breasts that I could see from where I was sat.                                      I’d had many women in my time, many of whom were noble and of highborn blood but never before had a woman made me throb with such a longing before, especially not a commoner.      The smell of her was enough to drive me insane and when our head Knight stormed into the carriage he didn’t help the situation.                                                                                       She moved to block his blow instead of dodge it, raising her leg to pin the other against the back of the bench beside my head. Her core was closer then, close enough for my eyes to make out the details of her lips and her delicate pink bud.                  My brother went breathless from beside me, his eyes too gazing at the sight. I felt a need to snap at him, to order that he avert his eyes but no words would come out.                                  The blade dug into the floor after yelling sounded. Nothing seemed to reach me as I watched the Knight pull the sword free and her move to sit on my lap with her legs spread widely apart. I felt my breathing grow rapid and fought to restrain myself.                    With one hand she caught the blade, blood splattered out around us and she began to move, her body bending forward and causing her crotch to rub against my groin through the material of my silk trousers. I prayed to Athena that she did not feel me stir beneath her and to my relief she was too focused on moving to grasp the blade with both hands.                                                           She adjusted her grip to take it from above then sat up, quickly, arms stretched out above her with the sword still in her grasp. Her back molded into my front, her head next to mine with her ear, neck and shoulders just inches away from my mouth.                                                                                           My eyes dipped to her chest, the material of her shirt pulling away just enough to give me a view of her left n****e. My hands ached to caress her, to touch her, but I was soon to be King, and Kings were meant to be gentlemen.                            My Knight slipped in her blood, the same blood that now dripped down her arms. It was then that I heard her, the sound she made caused my stirring member to throb even stronger against her.                                                                                          She moaned, loud enough for both me and my brother to hear. That was when he released his breath, a sound that caused something inside of me to stir.                                                         He had not been horrified like I had first thought, he was captivated, fearful, turned on by this creature that had come flying through the window.                                                                                 In a flash she was gone from my lap and went barreling out the door, her feet thudding against the roof before she dove into the bed of snow beneath the cliff we were on.                                 My eyes followed her, watched her turn from human to wolf then disappear into the forest.                                                          "Are you alright, my Prince?" the Knight questioned once he had recovered, kneeling on one knee before me.                       I snapped out of my trance and looked at him, noticing that my pants were soaked on one thigh.                                       I ignored it and addressed the knight accordingly, ordering him to return us to the castle at once so that I may find a hunter to track the wolf and return my stolen necklace.
