Just Words
Marinettes Point of View - Paris was as busy as ever, people driving to work, mothers running errands, and a certain blue haired girl running to school. "I am going to be late!" I said under my breath, running up the steps. I burst into the classroom seconds after the late bell rang. The teacher wasn't there yet. "Look who's late." A specific blonde said, making the class giggle. I ignored her and sat down next to her best friend Alya. "You alright, girl?" She asked, obviously talking about Chloe. "I'm fine, it's just words." I replied just as the teacher came in. "Please turn to page 63 in your textbooks." Ms. Bustier said, that's when I zones out. Just words My mind was circling around what I had said moments before. We're they really just words? Words are a lot more powerful than most people think. They transferred the thoughts in one persons mind to the other. They were magical. My mind continued whirring till lunch came around. "See you guys at the park?" Adrien asked, turning around. I felt my cheeks start to burn up as Alya nudged me in my rib. "Yeah, sure." She answered for me. Adrien and Nino left. "You go ahead, I need to pack up my things." I said, gesturing to my cluttered desk, I zoned out so much that I forgot to pack up. "Sure." She replied and left. "Well, well, well." A high pitched voice sounded behind me. "If it isn't Maritrash, left behind by her friends." I wanted to reply, but I chose to ignore her and continue stuffing my stuff in my bag. "I understand why. I mean, look at you. You're weak. And ugly. And fat. Ohh, did I mention dumb? Just standing next to you makes me want to gag. I don't know why that Alya pest or my Adrikins would want to be anywhere near you." With that, Chloe flipped her hair and headed out, Sabrina following close behind, shooting me an apologetic look. I pulled my backpack onto my lap. Was it true, was I weak, ugly, fat, and dumb? I looked around, the classroom was empty. I felt tears start running down my face. Was I really unbearable? Did my friends only hang out with me because they felt sorry for me? Why did it take Chloe for me to realize that? They were always having such a good time and just dragging me along. I slung my bag over my shoulder and ran to the bathroom, where I examined myself in the mirror. It was true. I was ugly. Looking at my torso, I noticed for the first time that I was really fat, and I did look weak. I was a pain. Tikki popped out of my purse and looked at my tear stained face. "It's alright, Marinette. Don't listen to what Chloe said to you. Everything she said is not true! You're Ladybug for goodness sake! Chloe idolizes you." She tried to cheer me up. "I'm not Ladybug without the mask, I'm a totally different person. But you're right, I shouldn't let what Chloe said get to me." Before Tikki could say anything else, I gently pushed her into my bag and dried my face. My eyes looked normal now, I looked normal now. But what Chloe said still bugged me. I pushed down the feeling and headed out. "What took you so long?" Alya asked. All three of them were sitting on a bench, eating. The bench was full. "Bathroom." I quickly replied, hoping it was believable. "Okay!" Alya said. I sat down on the grass in front of the three, looking at them. I pulled out my lunch and started eating. What Chloe said came to mind. They didn't want to be near me. Here I was, sitting on the ground, looking at them happily eating on the bench. "-inette?!" "Huh?" I replied to Alya. "Girl, what's up with you?" She asked. "Yeah, you totally just zoned out there." Nino informed me. "It's nothing, I'm just tired." I lied. "Are you sure you're okay?" Adrien asked. I dreamily looked up at him, attracted to every feature on his face, which was now in a worried expression. "Yeah." I said. Then guess what I thought about? ...Chloe. She said that she didn't understand why anyone would want to hang out with me, including Adrien. She was right, I didn't deserve him or Alya or Nino, or anyone else. I was a burden. "Excuse me." I said, getting up and grabbing my stuff. I needed to find an empty classroom to just sit in with my thoughts. I looked back at them as I walked away. They were talking cheerfully, they weren't talking like that when I was there, they didn't even ask where I was going. Just then, Adrien glanced back, concern filling his eyes. I looked away, he'd be better off without me. When I got to the steps, I heard the voice of the last person I wanted to see. "Hello, Maritrash,"
