Transfer students
*In the outskirts of capital city of the Kingdom of Royal Dragon* *Tak* *Tak* *The footsteps stopped and a boy in a robe, embedded with a pair of odd looking scissors on the back, reached down the ground, he took some dirt and gave it a smell. His yellow eyes gaze at the direction towards the West Forest.* “That thing was here and is heading towards the West Forest.” The boy stood up after successfully tracing the whereabouts of something that they are looking for. *Another boy walk towards him who wore the same robe as the boy but with a different design in the back, a giant sword between two elements.* “Those things are really troublesome.” The wind was blowing the hood off of the boy’s head, his peculiar purple eyes showed as he open his eyes. *At the academy of Royal Dragon* “Did you hear the rumors ? Apparently, we have two transfer students coming here today.” “Seriously? In this time of the year?” “Yes, seriously. And I’ve heard that both of them are guys and are very handsome.” The rumors spread rapidly that there will be two guys transferring into the academy. The girls are excited to see the transfer students and as for the boys, you know where this is headed. *A group of students overheard everything as they walked towards the gate. Murmuring among themselves that transferring into the academy pose a problem to everyone.* “Transfer students, huh? They should have stayed at their academy.” “Come on Charlotte, they were probably drunk when they decided to do so.” A guy said in a joke. “Looks like we have some new students to protect.” Another guy said while looking on the road ahead of them. These students are on a patrol lessons in the west forest. The forest is known for its unpleasantness, many died for the unknown danger that the forest holds.* “These patrolling lessons again, I’m getting sick of it. They are just low level monsters, anyway” “You’re just scared, right?” “Don’t worry, Kael’s with us.” “Ha! Those monsters are just addition to our credits.” The students are accompanied by their Instructor, he heard what the students talked about and gave them a warning. “You are to exercise caution even in small tasks such as these, I have told you that over and over again.” “Geez, why do we have to walk when we could just ride a carriage towards the forest?” The same guy complained once again. “Shut up! It is the Headmaster’s order.” “Ah, that geezer! I hate him.” *The Instructor glared at the student who kept complaining.* “If you really hate walking that much then you can use your movement abilities to reach there the forest faster. But I assure you that once you do that and you accidentally faced a strong monster right from the get-go, you can kiss your lives goodbye.” Said the Instructor and the students just looked down. They knew that he snapped after some complains. Holland is not an Instructor material but he does know that basics and does a good job at it. After walking for half an hour, the group was exhausted and took their water bottles and drank. “Let’s patrol in turns so that everyone can rest well.” Kael suggested as he is the leader of the group. “Then I will go on guard.” Charles volunteered, Gian and Verette decided to go with him. “Me, too.” “Count me in.” Their Instructor was only there to observe their actions and point out their flaws in patrolling later. The group decided who would rest and who would be on guard. “Will you guys be okay?” “Of course, we have Charles here a Magic Swordsman, Verette a Mage and me as a Support.” “Don’t push yourself too hard, Gian.” “I won’t.” “Don’t worry, I, Charles the great is here.” “Oh, please!” The guarding group went to their stations with Gian the Healer on the center, Charles the Magic Swordsman on the left and Verette the Mage on the right. This is the formation that they made to effectively use Gian’s healing abilities on both sides. Thirty minutes in and the rest had a good rest. “It is time to switch.” “Already?” “Yes, go ahead and rest.” Kael said to Gian who looked exhausted. Kael is a Magic Swordsman who is a lot stronger than Charles. Kael moved to the positions of the current guards. They fetched Verette and were moving to Charles’ position. Strange thing is that Charles was not was not there, they looked around and saw blood on the ground and as well as the trees. They were alerted by the sudden problem. “Where is that i***t?” “Hey, come here!” Verette saw Charles’ class badge with some blood on it. “This is not good. We have to bring Instructor Holland here. Charlotte and Clint go to Instructor Holland and bring him here. The situation might be really bad.” Kael ordered the others. “Will you both be okay?” “Don’t worry, Kael is here with me.” “Whatever happens just give us a signal, Irene.” Irene nodded and the rescue group split in two. The other two hurried to fetch Holland while the rest were looking for Charles. “Where did that i***t go? Irene don’t move too far away from me.” They walked a little further ahead and checked, then suddenly Irene saw something behind a huge tree. “Kael…..” Kael immediately heard Irene’s call and looked at where Irene was pointing, he saw a person sitting behind the tree. They hurried to see who it was. The sight was very unsightly, Charles was covered in blood. Irene instantly shot a spell in the sky, giving the others a signal. “Hey Charles, what happened?” Charles was breathing heavily when they arrived. “What the hell?! What are you guys doing here?! Get out of this forest immediately, that thing is still out there!” “What?! We were worried about you, you i***t!” “F***! What do you think I’m doing here?!” Charles was furious and disappointed at his comrades. “Gian please help Charles, I will guard you.” “O-okay.” Gian healed Charles’ injuries first to stop the bleeding. “We have to hurry and get the others to safety.” “Then why didn’t you do that earlier?” Charles had a terrified look in his face the moment Kael made him remember what happened earlier. “I was there to keep that thing away from you guys, but the moment it senses you, that thing left. We can’t kill that thing, even with you around.” *Kael was shocked after hearing Charles, Charles is strong but Kael is a lot stronger than him. So if Charles says that an enemy is stronger than Kael, then he is telling the truth. Unsure on what will happen next, they hurried back to the others. “We are almost there, just a little more.” “It should be here, -eh?” They were shocked when they saw a monster fighting against their Instructor and the rest of the group. “F***! We’re too late!” “Why on earth can’t I hear a sound?” “That seems to be the ability of that monster, that thing can cancel sound within an area.” The monster was in a form of a Giant Mantis, with a more devilish look with sharp blades in its eight arms. It barely looks like a mantis but its structure resembles that of a mantis. Holland had a hard time evading the sharp blades with the crazy speed of its arms. Evading all the blades was an impossible task while protecting his students. He had cuts all around his limbs. He saw Gian aiding Charles who was covered with blood. “Gian, heal Instructor Holland’s wounds, we need all the help we can get.” Kael ordered as he kept his guard up while moving towards the rest of the group. Gian nodded and started to heal Instructor Holland’s wounds from a safe distance. “What the hell is that monster?” Kael asked Instructor Holland. “It is my first time seeing a monster like this, this thing appeared right when we are about to head to where the signal came from.” Though his injuries are healed, his exhaustion is showing in his movements. “Charles, keep the others safe, I will help Instructor Holland fend off that thing.” “Careful, taking that thing down is going to be difficult.” Charles drew his sword as he guarded the others, Kael joined Instructor Holland in his battle against the monster. “Let me help you Instructor.” “Keep your eyes on that thing.” Kael glanced at their Instructor’s body and saw new wounds even after Gian healed him not too long ago. “This monster is crazy fast, so watch out.” *Skreeeeeeeee!* The monster shriek as it kept swinging its bladed arms at its opponents. Kael took his stance and draws his sword that immediately illuminated with yellow light. Beginner: Black, Gray, White, Maroon Advance: Red, Orange, Yellow, Silver Kael moved in a fast pace, but the monster kept up with his speed. He and his Instructor tried to restrain its movements while the others would cast some spells to injure the monster, but to their surprise, the monster kept evading their attacks as well as the spells. “What a very volatile thing!” “It is my first time witnessing a monster with a crazy fast speed!” They kept pressuring the monster, but it does not look like their plan is effective. “Damn it! We keep receiving wounds every time we clash with that thing but does not receive any from our attacks.” Kael cursed as he knew that Holland was slowly eaten away by exhaustion after holding the monster off for a long time. “We can’t hope to defeat it alone, we need reinforcements.” It is when a magic spell managed to hit the mantis, it stopped moving and turns it’s head to the one who manage to land a hit. Charlotte was terrified of the action that the monster made. “It looked at me!” “This is bad, my legs are about to give out anytime now.” Kael sensed it as well. He activated a spell to enhance his speed and strength. The monster noticed the sudden boost in Kael’s speed and started keep up. Once again, they were shocked after seeing the monster rival Kael in speed. The monster focused on Kael for the time being, his goal was successful. He activated the spell that gave a hint to his comrades to cast their powerful spell and launch it to the monster. Holland stopped for a moment and took a deep breathe then joined in again. “Is it ready yet?” “Move out of the way!” The moment they heard the confirmation, both of them immediately gave way for the spells for the monster. A barrage of spells rained down to where the monster was standing. “Tugshhhhh!” The explosion caused the ground to shake and dust covered the entire area of the explosion. The others fell on their knees after casting spells that easily drained their concentration. “Is it dead?” “I can’t see, the dust hindering our vision.” They felt no movements so they sighed a relief of victory, or so it seems. A blade pierced through Holland’s stomach that shocked them and planted fear to their fragile minds. “What the hel-! “ Kael shouted as their instructor was given a hole in his stomach who was now spouting blood. The next moment, Kael was swinging his sword at the monster hoping that the monster would let Holland go.* “Shulkkk!” *A sound of something that was cut vibrated on the air. Kael saw his arm holding the sword fell in front of him.* “Kaaaaaaaah!” Kale shouted his lungs out as he grab a hold on the part of his arm that is still intact or what is left of it. This moment drove everyone’s mind into the corner. Seeing the last strongest person in the group being incapable of fighting “Kael!” “Don’t come near me!” Charlotte tried to come to his side but he told her not to, Gian tried to heal Kael by reaching her hand out but lost her fingers without achieving anything. “Kyaaaah!” The forest was filled with screams of terror. Everyone was done in by the monster. Fortunately the monster only rendered them unable to move. And the last one was Charlotte as she struggled with all her might trying to protect everyone, but to her demise, a single swing of the monster was enough to keep her down. She fell on her knees. “Is this the end?” “Skreeeeeeeeeeeeee!” The monster shriek in victory as it defeated all of its foes, that single shriek gave them the feeling of death that some of them forgot to shed tears in, Charlotte glanced at everyone in the group as their vitality started to leave their body.* The monster was standing in front of Charlotte, it was ready to swing its bladed arms once again at the incapacitated lady when suddenly, a voice came from behind the group. “To think that some trash got lost in the forest” The monster instinctively moved back. “Kiiiiieee!” The monster shriek at the person approaching. The students and the instructor moved their eyes in the direction where the voice came from. To their surprise, they saw a guy wearing the same uniform as they do. The guy had an ash-colored hair with peculiar purple eyes. Charlotte and some of the students recognize the person before them. “You are-“ Charlotte was about to say something when the monster tried to move out of the forest but fell on the ground, confused of what happened, the group looked at the monster only to find that its legs were missing “Looking for these?” Their eyes glanced at the person only to find out that the guy was holding the monster’s legs in his hands. Then the monster groaned in pain. “Screeeeee!” “What the hell happened?” “How did he-“ Even with the inability to move, they still managed to let out some questions, they were overwhelmed at his strength that he even manage to cripple the monster which they have failed to do so. The monster was desperate to escape that it tried to use its wings for escape but a spear made of lightning struck the monster down, that was still not enough to kill the monster as it tried to get up but the guy reduced the monster into mincemeat. “Did that weakling gave you a hard time Kael? Charlotte?” With a flash of light, the boy instantly appeared in front of Charlotte and surprised her. “So you are the transfer student? Rai of the Raze family” The guy stared at her with a stoic expression. Then slowly walked towards Gian and handed her the fingers she lost. “Here, heal yourself and the others before they die of blood loss.” Gian took her fingers and nodded as she wiped the snout and tears on her face, she started to heal her fingers back and healed everyone else after. “How did you do it? How did you become that strong?” Kael immediately asked after Gian healed him, the others focused their eyes on Rai waiting for his answer. “That’s a rather funny question to ask don’t you think? I did not spend my time idling and all lovey-dovey like you two did. Only relying on the power of influence to reach the top” “Then why did you come back?! Did you really want to get revenge on me that badly?” Kael started to lash out at Rai, Charles and Clint tried to hold him back. “What’s the point of taking revenge on someone who can’t even defeat a HATCHLING.” This news gave them a whole new level of shock “What?! That was a hatchling?!” When they looked at Rai’s direction he was no longer there with them. “Who was that guy?” Verette asked in confusion. “Figures, Verette was still not around when that guy left.” “That guy is Rai Raze, he was once hailed as the weakest in the academy two years ago” Kael was enrage by the sudden development while Charlotte stared at the space where Rai used to be.
