Bad First Impressions
Amanda  P.O.V The air is dark; it blocks out all light except for a c***k located in the back left corner of the roof, just large enough for light to penetrate my dark world. The faint glow of sunrise penetrating the cell, damp and cold to the touch, the metallic smell of blood is all around me burning my nose, a thick metal door locked so tight that nothing can come through. My clothes are dirty and torn, my hair dishevelled, my face stained with tears that should never have left my eye ducts, not for this reason. I crawl back into the slightly illuminated corner; I bring my knees up to my chest and curl my arms around them, and lower my head to my body tightly holding on for any semblance of heat I can feel. In my most desperate hour of despair, all I have to ask is this: What did I do to deserve this?  Flashback "Wake up Amanda or your going to set everything up on your own"  My eyes flutter open, the sound of mum's shouting still ringing in my ears. I willing to bet she can be heard anywhere in the house, and I'm pretty sure the dead can listen to her too, but I'm not going to tell her that. Otherwise, I may get more than a shout tomorrow morning. She is a beautiful and loving mother to my sister and me,. She has long black hair and blue eyes which can intimidate when push her too far. I abide by my mother's wish and slowly hop out of my queen-sized bed, stumbling as I walk towards the window in my yellow pj's; after all, it's still early. I open the curtains to let in the light; the suns ray feel warm on my exposed pale skin. I almost wish I could stay in the early morning rays of the sun. However, today is unique because it's New Year's Eve. My parents are hosting a formal gathering at 7:00 pm for friends and esteemed clients in our home tonight. When I say this, our home, it's more like an overwhelming mansion. It's got two floors and a basement for crying out loud, and a wonderland of a garden just beyond the back terrace, all thanks to my father. My father is a good looking man for his age,  he's smart and determined. My father's Tech company, from nothing, is now very profitable, so we're able to live in the lap of luxury, comfortably.  Anyway, I should get moving, or mum will put all the responsibility on me tonight, no joke. I glance down at the digital clock on my bedside table; it's 7:30 in the morning, so I stretch out my limbs before finally making my way down. It's a not as long a walk as you may suspect, to get to the kitchen, for mum's famous breakfast, at least in this house, we don't have any maids or anything, so we run things ourselves. Once I'm through the large living room and walk into the spacious kitchen, the fantastic smell of bacon and eggs wafting through the air proceeds inside my nostrils; it is time for some delicious breakfast with my mum, dad, and younger sister. After breakfast, the digital clock on the big walls sounds to 8:00 am now. Hence, dad kisses mum on the cheek, bids me and my six-year-old sister farewell and leaves for work. He has to work even on the holidays, shame really but my father runs an international company, so sometimes we should be thankful to see him at all. Meanwhile, my sister, Jenna and I make our upstairs to get ready for the day. I abide by my usual morning ritual and head back to my room just across the hall. I head over to my wardrobe, on the left wall, diagonal from my bed and pick out my clothes for the day.  I decided to dress comfortably in a white sleeveless dress that flows freely from the waist to just above the knees, and a denim jacket accompanied by white beaded bow flats for my feet. As for my hair, I leave my wavy brown hair to fall as it may just past my slim shoulders. I am now satisfied with my look, after about fifteen minutes of deliberation, that is. I stroll out of my room, heading back downstairs, to help prepare for this critical evenings festivities. I prefer to avoid these formal events as the people here only really talk of business, and try to delve into others personal lives which exceedingly gets my goat. Mum has a tremendous act for these events because before she met dad, she used to be an event planner, coincidence, I think not.  Out of nowhere, Jenna runs into the room "Mummy, can I help too?" She looks up with her big green eyes, hopeful in mums reply. Mum leans down to her eye level and smiles sweetly. "Okay sweetie you can help." "Yaaaayyy". Jenna screams in delight and who can blame her, she loves to help out where she can, 'kitty is so adorable'. I let out a slight chuckle at her behaviour. Kitty is the nickname I gave her because her big, wide eyes have a curiosity similar to that of a feline. Mum has her by her side all day, helping her organise groceries and decorations for tonight, while I'm charged with clean up duty for tonight. Time flies when you are having fun, practising household chores, but the outstanding social event is now only an hour away, hooray, (note the sarcasm). Dad came home about forty-five minutes ago and is overseeing the final preparations with Mum for tonight's event. Mum and Dad know these social events like this are not my forte. Jenna's too young for these things, as they usually go very late, so the y've allowed me to forgo tonight's festivities, on the condition I look after her and keep ourselves upstairs, no complaints here.                                - Three Hours Later- The party is very, much lively. We can hear their muffled voices still talking business, no doubt and probably plans for the new year. Thankfully, we don't have to be down there. I can't stand the formalities, I'm am sixteen years old, I don't care about this stuff, and Kitty needs someone to keep an eye on her, so win-win. I and Kitty, already in her cute lion themed onesie, are relaxing on my bed just finishing up the Lion King movie on my 60inch flat screen tv. We both adore all things, Disney, especially this one. We both love animals, in particular, these; they get into all sorts of mischief. The credits begin to roll, and Jenna looks up and yawns widely. " Alright, little kitty time for sleep." " I'm not sleepy, can't I stay up a little longer?" She whines and projects her cutest face, with wide eyes, looking up at me, she knows people have a hard time saying no to her when she pulls that look. However, she can't fool me this time because I can see yer yawning again, I inwardly chuckle. " No, it's time to go to bed, Upsy daisy." I pick her up as gently as possible; her small arms cling around my neck, her legs dangling along my sides, not rejecting my actions, as we carefully make our way to her room across the hall. We enter her room, keeping her light off, I let the hallway light be our guide, I lower gently onto her bed, tuck her in and kiss her good night. She whispers goodnight and shuts her eyes, like the angel she is. I shut her door ever so quietly and start to wander back over to my room. I'm not tired yet, so I walk over to the balcony, overlooking the woods.  I lean over the balcony railing, taking in the fresh night air, and feel the quiet breeze. 'Ah what a night.' I let out a sigh, feeling a little trapped here in this house; no friends because everybody at school would look down on me. I 'm different from all those other rich kids at that snobby private school. I wasn't a girl to flaunt her wealth with designer clothes and handbags, wear multiple layers of makeup and go on dates just for the sake of it. In my opinion, I'm too young for that sort of thing. I want my first love to be unique with someone who loves me for me. I know it sounds cliche, but it's what I would like to have. A loud rustling noise coming from the woods below, it pulls me out of my thought process. I look around but see nothing. I shrug my shoulders and continue gazing to nowhere in particular. Then I hear a loud crunch of a stick break, and my eyes see something unusual, a great big pair of glowing gold eyes of a giant wolf, illuminated the light of the full moon, looking up at me. I stare at those mesmerising golden eyes, for what seems like forever. I'm curious about this creature. I feel a pull towards him; I can't explain it. Without thinking, I run off the balcony, out the door of my bedroom, run the hallway, stopping at the staircase, all the while panting, running is not my strong suit. I tiptoe downstairs, making it to the dimly lighted foyer. Luckily for me, the party was being held in the next room. Nevertheless, I don't take anything to chance; quietly, I make my to the back terrace, and to my relief, the wolf was still there. I take a step towards him, he doesn't move, but just stares. I take another few steps getting closer to him. He belts out a low growl stopping me in my tracks; he turns and runs, back into the woods. Part of me is willing me to ignore it and return to the warmth and comfort of home, whereas the other wants me to follow. Nonetheless, my curiosity wins, and I chase after it into the woods.  I run, weaving through the trees, and sticks that have scattered along the ground, trying to catch up. I've been running for what seems like forever, but despite my best efforts, I manage to lose him, just great. I slow my pace and turn my aching body around to where I came from, but before I could begin to go home, I heard a twig snap behind me, it's eerie here. As always, my curiosity gets the better of me, and I pull a 180-degree turn. My eyes land on a strange but masculine man. In the glow of the moonlight, I find he is a head taller than me. I can see his tight black shirt and shorts. His hair as black as night, short and a little spiky. His fine facial structure. His forest gre en eyes are boring into my very core, staring without blinking as if evaluating me, it's nerve-wracking. "Why are you here? You're trespassing on my pack territory."  My thoughts are interrupted as his deep voice resonates throughout my body; it sends a shiver up my spine, 'okay, I think this was a mistake, wait pack territory, this guy is weird. "Don't make me repeat myself human." 'wait, what, human, he's talking as if he's not. What kind of crazy person have I run into?' I hold my hands up in surrender, gathering as much confidence as I can project. "My mistake, so I'll just be going back home now. Bye." I begin backing up slowly, but to my dismay, he follows, his eyes still on me, a grin forming on his handsome face. "Oh, I'm sorry, my love, but you're not going anywhere." I don't like this. I don't want to be here anymore, so I turn back around and take off running in the direction I came. Unfortunately, I hear that guy moving to, ' I've got get out of here'. I quicken my pace, my body filled with adrenaline. Then the noise behind me stops. I turn my head while still on the run, thinking I've lost him, I stop and catch my breath. A big mistake, as soon as I stop to breathe, I feel a warm breath on the back of my neck, 'please no, no, no'. I turn my head and see him towering over me, smiling at me, enjoying himself like we're playing a game of cat and mouse. The smile vanishes at quickly as it came, I back up again, but this time, tripping up on a root, I fall hard on the ground, hitting my head on a tree. The pain in my head and knees is something else. I've never taken many risks in my life, so pain isn't something I've experienced often. Nevertheless, it isn't my top priority right now; it's the stranger lowering himself down to my level; he looks me straight in the eyes moving his large hands on my thighs and licking the blood oozing out of my scrapped knees. My whole body flinches from his electric touch,  a whimper escapes my pink lips. I instantly cover my mouth with my dirt riddled hands, ashamed of what I felt.. "Sssshhhh. Easy there, princess." 'Don't fall for this; he enjoys my suffering,' "Get away from me, you, you pervert." Tears begin to fall down my cheeks. I'm terrified and angry. I can't hold back my anger. I push him, with all my might but he doesn't budge he comes closer, within a breathing distance. "Now, now my love, behave like a good little princess, or you won't like the consequences." Without knowing what I was doing my hand collides with his steel-like face. The last thing I remember is his words in echoing in my ears before my world. "You should have listened to me, my love, now you're gonna pay the consequences."
