“Roslin, come here, sweetie,” says my mom. I walked toward a handsome boy. He looks about a year older than I am. He was tall, around six feet with black hair and a blond streak. His hair is long, covering his mesmerizing silvery green eyes. His honey tanned skin was glistening in the firelight. He is standing with a beautiful, black haired lady and a handsomely tall man. They have to be his parents. When my parents and I are standing in front of them, the lady steps forward to shake hands with Daddy. She says, formally, “Hello, Ares. How are you and your family?” “We’re fine, thanks. How are you and yours?” “We are great. Well, let’s start this. Keith, come up here, by my side. Roslin, walk up to your father’s side, please.” We did as we are told and walk up to our parent’s sides. “Daddy, what’s going on?” I whisper to him. “Hush, I will tell you in a minute. You two were betrothed when you were born.” I look at him with wide eyes, “Shh. I’ll explain later,” he says to me. “Roslin, Keith is going to live with us. He will, also, be going to the same school and have the same classes as you. His family and he are going to live on the third floor. Now you two will have to get to know each other.” “Okay,” Keith and I say at the same time. “Now let’s go home, they will follow after they are packed and call,” Daddy says to everyone. Mom and I nod and follow him out. On the ride home, Daddy explains about the engagement. “Honey, you and Keith were engaged when you were born. We wanted to have an alliance with the vampires. Keith is going to inherit the role of King when he turns 20. His parents, Morrigan and Caleb, want an alliance with the wolves. So, since you are going to be the future Alpha, it stands to reason that you get to be his betrothed. You both are to be 16 before you marry.
