1 - In the Beginning
The world glinted within her eyes, the happiness radiating around her presence, she was pure happiness, she was pure perfection, she was everything everyone wanted to be. She was Attarah Swan. Attarah stood beside the window of her small room, her green gaze transfixed on the murky glass before her, the darkness outside threatening to swallow her though the moons milky gaze dancing over her. "Attarah?" She recognized the voice and a smile split along her cheeks instantly, it was the voice of her elder sister, Attarah was forever happy though none understood it, none could dampen it. "Isabella?" The need to address with formality overrun her and she twirled around to face the oldest swan daughter, it was, in fact, the last night that Bella would be a Swan. "How are you?" "I'm getting married tomorrow" was the only answer received, almost as if it was excuse enough for the nervousness that radiated from her. "I heard it was supposed to be the happiest day of one's life" the smaller girl chided, her voice chirping as usual, she flopped elegantly onto her silken sheets, her satin curls splaying randomly around her, the older girl fell back also, less gently and more stiffly. "And the most important" the engaged swan sighed and turned her head to see her sister, their heads were beside one another's though they were upsidedown in perspective, one laying on either side of the large bed. "Indeed, so why is it that you are so utterly terrified?" "I'm not terrified." "Couldn't fool me" "Fine, I am just worried, there is an endless number of things that could go wrong" the older ranted and Attarah fluttered her green eyes closed, reminiscent in her sister's voice, knowing that it was limited. "Do not doubt yourself, you will be the most flawless bride, and I shall be a bridesmaid tomorrow, there will forever be the chance of me raking havoc at the reception" Attarah joked. "The Volturi kings are invited" Bella frowned, remembering the depressing words discussed earlier in the day, she also remembered the horrendous news that she'd heard, she was to shortly lose her sibling. "What are they truly like?" The younger girl queried, she'd always believed that no being could be the definition of pure evil, no matter what, everyone had redeemable aspects. "They are pure evil" Isabella contradicted. "No one is pure evil sister, they are merely misunderstood, I am sure of it" Attarah grinned again, the dimpled smile that was ever-present on her features. "You always see the good in everyone" "My greatest flaw" she cheeked and Bella snorted before silence flooded the room and both sisters eventually drifted asleep in one another's presence. ------ Attarah was the first to awaken the next morning as per usual and she looked up to see her elder sister still sleeping by her side so she pushed the fragile older swan onto the floor, causing her to jolt awake. "What was that for?" "This is the last day that you will live here, it's the least I could do" she smirked and hopped up from the bed, skipping from the room and sliding down the hall, knocking on Charlie's door in a rhythmic tune as she passed. "You are too chirpy" Bella groaned as she threw her hair up into a messy bun, today was the day of the wedding and it was five in the morning, Alice was collecting both sisters at six for some bizarre reason. "Get dressed" Charlie demanded ten minutes later, he did not want his daughter to be late to her own wedding. "Let's go" Attarah cheered and grabbed Bella's arm, dragging her up the stairs, Attarah reminded Bella of a mini Alice but she was more formal and instead of hyper, she was happy. --- Attarah opened the car boot with a groan, Bella was getting her makeup done by Alice and her hair by Rose which left Attarah to do her own, the young female, despite her outer happiness; had little confidence in her own appearance and so when she took her makeup bag and dress from the car, she pouted, believing she was to look stupid as she walked the aisle. "It's Bella's day, it doesn't matter what I look like" she sighed and entered the large house, seeing Carlisle and Esme by the piano and waving at them before mounting the stairs and entering her designated guest room. As she glanced into the mirror, Attarah knew not of what to start with so she shrugged and started to curl her hair to the best of her ability, unaware of how flawless it truly looked. After around two hours, she was finished with her face and hair so she slid on her satin ice pink dress and shoes, briefly glancing in the mirror. "Atty, I want you to promise me something" Bella stated sternly, around half an hour later as they sat awaiting Alice's arrival. "Anything" the petite girl swore and Isabella sighed, knowing that she'd likely never get alone time with her sister again, not after what was destined to occur at the wedding that evening. "Promise me that no matter what happens you will always be you, you won't change for anyone?" "I would never change for anything, I promise you" she pecked the engaged female's cheek and Isabella relaxed slightly, hoping the promise would be kept. "Something is going to happen today" Bella urgently expressed, the others had warned her against changing the course of the vision as it would result in many catastrophes but the brunette wanted to at least warn her fellow swan. "Yes, you shall get married" Alice's voice fogged through the room and Bella jumped, noticing that Attarah did not, she was accustomed to the vampires randomly popping up whenever they pleased. "Let's go and do this then" Attarah grinned and Alice smiled, she enjoyed the fact that the girl was always happy, through every event that faced them, she'd been the light through the inevitable darkness. "Let's go get married" Bella breathed out but the happy smiles from both females encouraged her to feel excited... ---- The top of the dress was beautifully designed with intricate swirls which flowed down into a silky waterfall of pink silk, she matched it with peach shoes and pulled her first layer of curls into an up parting. After feeling briefly satisfied, she exited the room and met up with Rosalie, the immortal goddess. Attarah, Rosalie and Alice were all bridesmaids and dressed identically though Rose was not to walk the aisle, she was designated to play the piano. "Who did your makeup? It looks gorgeous" Rosalie complimented, oddly Rose had always been nicer to Attarah, in fact, they were the best of friends. "Come on, let's watch people arrive" Rose giggled and Attarah nodded in agreement, heading to the stairs and gazing over the banister, seeing the people arriving below. "Look, that's the Denali coven" the gorgeous blonde informed her friend and Attarah noticed the group of pretty blonde females who looked eerily similar to Rose. "When do the Volturi arrive?" The younger girl questioned nervously, she was afraid that they'd cause havoc and be as evil as Bella stated them to be. "They will arrive before the reception, they aren't all bad Atty, they just have to be strict to keep everyone on line" Rosalie informed, she felt she needed to reassure the girl after what she heard was destined to occur later in the day. "I hope they don't ruin Bella's day" "They won't." The vampire promised and they walked back down the hallway and into Alice's room where they found the pixie vamp herself dressed identically to them but she gave off an undeniable Daisy Buchanan atmosphere. "Bella you look gorgeous" Attarah complimented her sister who sat nervously wringing her hands, watching the light dance across her wedding gown. "So do you Atty" she smiled and looked up, seeing her baby sister and feeling proud that the girl had grown to be so beautiful. "This is it, soon you won't be a Swan anymore" Attarah smiled in excitement though inside she was slightly sad, her sister had always been there and now she'd barely see her. "Remember when we went on holiday to visit Grandma and we sat watching the stars on the beach together?" "Yeah" Attarah answered in confusion. "Do you remember what you said?" Bella asked and turned to her baby sister, standing up and taking the girls face in her hands. "Yeah" a look of realization crossed the younger girls' features. "We will be sisters no matter what, not even eternity will take that away from us" they recited the words of twelve-year-old Attarah together. "If only we knew at the time how relevant those words are" Attarah choked and Bella smiled, tears in her eyes as she pulled the girl into her chest. "No matter what, you be you" Attarah mumbled their catchphrase to her older sister and Bella giggled gently. Little did they know, Rosalie and Alice were watching from the corner, filled with emotion at the touching sight. "Flowers!" Alice suddenly yelled, recalling that they had a wedding to get to, no doubt everyone was silent downstairs as they waited for the bride. "Oh Christ" Rose growled, realizing that she was almost late. "Good luck Rosie!" The youngest human called as Rose rushed down the stairs and over to the piano. Charlie entered and smiled at both his daughters, kissing their cheeks as he took Bella's arm. "Atty, when I go, count five seconds and then follow, Bella come five seconds after that okay?" Alice instructed as they lined up at the staircase. When they nodded, Alice began walking down the aisle, linking arms with Jasper and taking a seat as Attarah began walking the aisle. Edward stood at the end of the aisle under the canopy and he smiled at his future sister when he saw her emerge. The encouraging smile relaxed her which was exactly what Edward had intended for it to do. At the end of the aisle, Emmett grasped Attarahs hand and they sat next to one another, watching Rose play the piano. When Bella and Charlie appeared, the piano tune slowed and sweetened, playing a familiar tune that only the Cullen's and Attarah recognized, it was Bella's lullaby, the song Edward wrote her. When Bella finally reached her fiance at the alter, she relaxed the moment their hands connected and Edward smiled at her, making her heart stutter violently. The service was a beautiful one at that and shortly after they found themselves engaged in an embrace as crowds of people congratulated them on their new unity. Isabella Swan was now Bella Cullen. --- Bella Cullen searched the crowds, her wedding dress grazing the floor, she attempted to push through the hordes of people who congratulated her but they were undeniable. Edward gripped his wife's hand and gently tugged her in the correct direction, directly over to their siblings. Jasper and Alice were hugging in the corner, the new vegetarian vampire focusing on his wife's scent so as to not slaughter the crowds. Emmett was congratulating Rosalie on not messing up the piano chords whilst she rolled her eyes and Attarah stood silently, twirling her flowers in her hands, silently wondering if she'd ever have a wedding and if her older sister would be able to attend. "Atty" Edward smiled and hugged her gently, they were siblings now, the copper haired Cullen was still slightly irritated about being unable to read her or Bella's minds but after a year and a half, he'd gotten used to it. "Hello brother" the small girl cheered and Edward chuckled, glad she was happy but he couldn't help but wonder (as he often did) if her happiness was true, he found it impossible that one person could be happy every hour of the day yet she was and that made him assume that she was faking her happiness. "Atty" Bella pulled her into a bone crushing hug and the smaller brunette smiled sweetly, her green gaze glistening as she returned the affection. "Let's get this party started" Emmett hollered and many people around them laughed, others tutted and others completely ignored his presence. "Come on lil' sis" Emmett grabbed Attarahs hand and span her around three times perfectly and she giggled her harmonious tune. "Let's go" Edward laughed and wrapped his arm around his new wife. ---- The speeches progressed and it was soon Attarahs turn to take the stage, she did so with caution, not wanting to do so but knowing Bella would appreciate it. "I don't know how to begin to describe the pride I feel for my sister who achieved everything she always wanted" she began "as children, we'd always discuss, as children do, the prosperity of marriage and Bella always persisted that she'd find her prince charming and I'm proud to says she did" she smiled happily, only speaking to her sister. "Edward, you are everything a brother should be and I'm proud to say that now you are mine, I know you will be the husband Bella deserves and I hope you both get everything you want from life. But Bella, you just be you, I love you sister" she raised her champagne and everyone cheered as she exited the stage. "That was beautiful" Bella complimented with tears in her eyes as Attarah reclaimed her seat beside Isabella. "I made it up on the spot" the brunette whispered to her sister and both Bella and Edward laughed. --- Attarah stood to the side of the dance floor between Rose and Alice, the three bridesmaids smiling to one another while they watched the new married couple dance. "One day you'll have a love like that" Alice nudged Attarah but the brunette frowned and shook her head, causing both vampires to exchange looks, Attarah was always happy, they'd never seen her without a smile in her face. "You will...oh look, the Volturi have arrived" Rose informed, knowing that Alice played a role in their dramatic entrance, the three kings dressed in perfectly tailored suits and contacts, watching the happy people. "Atty, let me introduce you" Bella grabbed her sister's hand as the song changed, tugging the girl through the crowd without waiting for an answer. "There's the bride" Aro smiled like a child as he saw Bella, though he failed to notice the small brunette standing behind the brunette. "Hello, Aro" Bella smiled tightly and pulled her sister forward, watching as all three kings assessed her with wide eyes, she was their mate, they had only came to the wedding to collect her. "This is my sister, Attarah" Bella introduced and Atty smiled her infectious smile, watching as the kings smiled along. "It is a pleasure to meet you miss swan" Aro held his hand out for a shake but when she put her hand in his, he brought it to his lips and kissed it delicately, sending tingles up her arm and raising goosebumps on her flesh. "Hello Aro" he sighed softly at her voice, it was like melted honey, Marcus and Caius joined them and smiled at the girl. "My name is Caius" the blond male introduced and kissed the girl's hand also, more tingles emerging, she frowned slightly, angry with herself that she was feeling this way over two different men. Though, her inner anger increased when she found herself attracted to the third king also, Marcus who introduced himself with a kiss to the back of the hand. "Excuse me momentarily?" It was more of a question, she waited for them to nod before walking away, knowing Edward and Bella were following her. "Atty?" They called as one and Edward caught her wrist, swinging her around. "What's happening to me?" She asked Edward, looking directly into his golden eyes, she felt a tug in her chest, making her want to go back over to the kings. "I'm sorry Atty, and no matter what, remember we all love you" he rushed out and she saw the other Cullen's crowd around, strengthening her previous assumption of suspicion. "What's happening?" She requestioned. "You just be you" Bella said to Attarah, tears in the bride's eyes before the small brunette could question anything, the darkness consumed her. Bella and her new family gasped in shock as they watched Felix lift the youngest bridesmaid into his strong arms, he gave them a small nod before turning and walking away...
