Have you ever wondered where Fantasy came from? Where the ideas of Fantasy stories developed from and all the creatures that we believed to be fake? Well, you've come to the right place. My name is Jesse Thomas, now I was just a regular college student who's life suddenly changed when I got transported to a land called Fantastopia, a land filled with every Fantasy beings and magic that I thought was all make-believe. Now if you're thinking that I was chosen to be a new hero of this land, then you are correct. I know how cliche that sounds, and to me, it's pretty terrifying, especially when you have no idea who this bad guy is and when he'll strike. But until that happens, feel free to join me and my friends and the crazy shenanigans we get into this crazy world.

A violent prologue
Many years ago... With the moon hiding behind the dark clouds, not a single star in the sky was shown. Down below, on top of a very unique castle, with only the torches as their light source, the two men were busily engaged in a sword battle on the roof of the castle. With one being a young man in his early twenties with sky blue eyes and dressed in an armored outfit, and the other being an older man dressed in Gothic medieval clothing, the two were at each other’s throat while being careful not to fall off the roof. It was a slippery place for a battle, but since they were already there and too focused on each other, they were stuck there until one of them dies. “This can go on for ages” the older man growled as the younger man panted exhaustedly while leaning against a stone pillar “But I think we should end it now, surrender yourself, Richard.” “Yeah,” the young man, Richard breathed while clutching onto his sword handle tightly “I don’t think so.” And with that, he got back up and swung his sword at the older man who blocked the strike with his much larger sword. The two opponents continued to fight each other as Richard climbed onto the battlement walkway where he turned around expecting to see his enemy, but instead, his enemy was nowhere to be seen. Knowing that he will jump out at any second, the young man kept his grip on his sword while gazing around. Already covered in bruises and cuts on different parts of his body, Richard desperately wanted to rest, but he knew he couldn’t give up. Keeping his eyes out for an upcoming attack, he didn’t notice his enemy sneaking up from behind a pillar with his sword raised. But at the moment, Richard had already sensed the presence behind him as he turned around just as the older man swung down his sword, only to be blocked by Richard’s sword. But that didn’t stop his opponent from sending a hard kick to the young man who fell back with a hard thud that caused him to wince. When he looked back up, he spotted his enemy getting ready to stab his sword right through his chest. Acting quickly, Richard swung his body to the side, but even though that avoid him from getting stabbed in the chest, he wasn’t far enough as he felt the sharp blade slice through the top of his right shoulder that wasn’t armored as he cried out in agony. Clutching the wound with his hand, the young man could feel the blood oozing out from his shoulder as he felt himself getting weak from all the misery. “Just give up already” his enemy snarled, “You’re already weak. Surrender your ring, and perhaps I can give you a speedy death.” With his hand still on his wound, Richard looked down at his other hand that gripped his sword where he spotted his silver ring on his middle finger that had designs on the sides with a gem in the center that was a gray color. It was his most valuable possession, and he knew he couldn’t give it to his enemy, no matter what. “Even if I die,” he managed to puff out, “The ring will be passed down to the next firstborn male of my bloodline. And from there, the power of the ring will keep going to defeat forces like you.” His enemy gave a snicker, “In that case, I will be glad to kill whoever’s next in your bloodline.” “I wouldn’t bet on that,” Richard suddenly smirked. “What makes you say that?” “Because I’m not gonna die tonight, you are.” Before his enemy could even react, Richard used all of the remaining strength he had to swing his sword at his foe as the blade sliced across his stomach, tearing through his clothes. With his opponent distracted by the sudden attack, Richard gathered up his energy to lift himself up to where he was tall enough to thrust the sword right through a weak spot of the armor and through his foe’s stomach. With the sword right through his enemy’s body, he pulled his bloodied sword out as he leaned back and watched as his opponent began to tumble back towards the edge while clutching his b****y wound. And just like that, his foe fell backward and over the edge of the tower until he heard the sound of a splash. But wanting to make sure he was really dead, Richard clutched onto the ledge and pulled himself up as he limped over to the edge where he peered down and saw his enemy’s body floating away in the river that ran near the castle. He had done it, he had defeated his enemy, and he still had the ring. With his hand still on his b****y wound, Richard looked down at the ring on his other hand and saw that the gem in the center was now a golden color as he felt his lips curl into a small smile. “Ricky!” a feminine voice called out as he turned around to see a beautiful young girl his age running towards him in her battle outfit. But this girl was different from him was that she wasn’t human like him, due to the fact that her ears were pointed, she was an elf dressed in armor with her brown locks tied behind her in a high ponytail. “Are you okay?” she demanded with a worried look. “I’m fine” he assured before turning to his wound “Although this is going to turn into a scar.” She winced at the sight of his wound when he added- “I did it, Luna, I defeated Azar.” She gasped, “You did?! Where is he?!” “Floated away in the river” he looked over the edge to see that his enemy’s body had indeed floated away in the river “There’s a chance we can still find his body as proof.” “I’ll get the guards on it.” She was about to walk away when she noticed Richard looking down at his ring. “Oh yeah,” she began, “Now that Azar’s gone, what are you gonna do about the ring?” “Well-” he sighed, “I know that I won’t be needing it anymore, so I guess it’s time to let the ring do its thing.” “Evil may be gone for now, but there’s a chance it could come back any day.” “I know, but I also know that it will be years till it happens again. For all we know, we could be dead by the time it comes back.” “And that’s why the next firstborn male of your bloodline should be ready when it does happen. Whether it’s a son, grandson, even a nephew, he has to be ready when the ring chooses him.” “Then I suggest we let time take care of it, but until then, get your guards to find Azar’s body, and I’m also losing more blood by the second so I’m gonna need a doctor.” The elf girl gave a small giggle “Of course you do, come on.” She went over to him and helped him limp over to the entrance where she opened the wooden door and helped him in. And as they headed down the stair, both of them knew that evil may one day return, but they also knew it will be years till that happens again. Now that Richard no longer needed the ring, it was time for it to find its new master. It will be years until the ring finds its new owner, but everyone knows that the ring never makes a mistake when it chooses a hero.
