~THE REJECTED VAMPIRE~

{Draco...} My first experience with a human was not pleasant at all. I met my first mate in 1960 during a holiday festival in the small village in Pennsylvania, I had been around in the area for almost a decade but I hadn't seen him until then. When I did my frozen body became warm and calming. The weather suddenly felt different and when our eyes locked he had a look of terror on his face. I wanted nothing but to embrace him...but he did not feel the same way "please...I can't..." he whispered but I heard him. I felt the pain of a thousand stakes going through my heart. I dropped to my knees as the pain got worse from being rejected by my very first mate. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A week had passed and I was still held up in my castle away from the village and It's people...specifically Oliver. I didn't want to cause any issues for him I mean even though he rejected me I still wanted happiness for him. later I discovered that he was forced into marrying a women of a wealthy family and he would inherit whatever from It. So as I lay in my bed slowly withering away from the pain I decided that..."I Lord Draco Hangerten...accept Oliver's rejection..." and at that moment I felt true calmness. All the emotions and heartache that I have been holding on to just passed through me. I no longer felt the warmth nor love of having a mate...I felt absolutely nothing and I was comfortable with it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I went on for another handful of decades living a quiet life. I drink animal blood not human so I could live longer and stronger. Of course just as Wolf's have a moon goddess to pray to and have very select few of older wolves known as the counsel to report to I pray to Dracula the very first Vampire Lord and his first borns are the counsel that I report too. We leave humans alone and we only interact with them if we necessarily have too, but other then that we stay in the shadows and move around at night, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's the year 2020 and It's still remains quiet and kept for me. I manage my own company with corporate building's all over and wealth isn't an issue for me neither "Sir...I have those documents you've requested..." I was pulled out of my train of thought buy my assistant Alisha "Thank you...you may go for the evening..." I said as I dismissed her. After a long night of working and getting no sleep I need a drink and some well deserved rest. My company car zoom through the empty streets just after sunset...I stare out the window just wondering what it would be like.
