"Your smile gives me butterflies!" Brenda  I was not sure why Aaron wanted me to meet him down at the docks there in D.C. for. We were going to be heading back home to Haven Creek soon. Aaron's parents were back home from their big trip and we wanted to tell them in person that we were getting married soon. I was going to ask my little sister Melody to be my maid of honor. And I wanted to surprise my mother with the wedding date. My family already knew that I was going to soon be marrying Aaron Winters. I glance over at the lake. It was a beautiful day right now. The sun was dancing on the waters of the lake. I look down at my huge diamond engagement ring that Aaron gave to me. I loved this ring as much as I loved him. The ring was huge. I had not been as happy as I was now. I was finally with the love of my life. My best friend in the entire world. Aaron Winters. It seemed to take us ages to get back together. But here we were. And nothing was going to stop me from marrying the man I loved. I feel myself smile as I lean on the dock and watch the waters. It was so peaceful out here. He pulls me in his embrace for a hug. He kisses me hello. "I was detained in a meeting or I would have been here a lot sooner. Good news though! I think the new project is going to be sold soon and be on the market. Who knows maybe by next year I will be able to retire and spend all my time with you!" he tells me with a smile. He kisses me again. I melt into him. "What are we doing here? I love being here. But why did you want to meet here? And by the way I love that idea. Imagine if you did retire, we could travel the world together. After we marry of course. Then when we finally find the perfect home then we can have our little family we have been talking about having" I say happily to him. He grins. "I have a reason why I wanted you to meet here" he says. "Come with me" He takes me by the arm. He leads me through where the boats were docked at. Seagulls flew over head calling to us down below. We stop at a huge boat. It was a navy blue with white. It had an upstairs as well as a huge downstairs. You could see the deck. It was a stunning boat. Maybe Aaron rented us a boat to go on for the day. That would be really fun to go boating. My dad used to have a boat. It was a cheap pontoon boat though. And he would take me fishing on it. I was like the boy he never had. He only had two girls. I think he kind of wanted a son deep down. • ❤︎ •• ❤︎ •• ❤︎ • "Look at the side of the boat" he demands to me. I glance and crane my neck over to see where he was pointing at. I gasp. It read "The Brenda" on the side. "Aaron this boat had my name!" I giggle with pleasure. "Correction this boat was named after you! I bought it and named it after you" he explains to me. I gasp. "Aaron you did not!" I giggle. "I did. We own this boat. And we can travel out on it" he tells me. "Do you know how do drive a boat?" I tease. He smiles. "No, but I can learn. In the meantime, I hired someone to drive us around in the boat. I figured we could head home in this boat. Have a little adventure. Then take your family out on the boat when we arrive. Plus, it is a house boat so we can stay on the boat instead of at our parents' home" he adds. I pull him in for a hug. "You think of everything" I say with a smile. I lean up kissing him on the lips. "Not only that if you get tired of the house boat, I did rent us a little condo there in Haven Creek we can stay at" he promises me. "I am glad I will never have to live back home. That was awful when I dropped out of college and had to come back home. Now I stepped up. With you" I add. "All thanks to you Aaron" "I would do anything for you Brenda" he reminds me. "you have always been the love of my life. The one thing I always wanted. Now you are with me" "Forever and always" I say sweetly. We have a nice little dinner on the boat. The new driver takes us out on the lake for a little spin out on it. We had a plate of cheese, crackers, grapes, so many goodies. And a white wine. It was so yummy. Aaron was having a blast feeding me bites of food making me laugh. I sure had loved our friendship during our high school days. But it had been lonely at times. Now we never had to be lonely again. We found our way back to each other. We had finally set a wedding date. And that was why we were going back home. We were going to share our good news with our family. It had been years since I last saw Aaron's parents. We always got along really well. I was looking forward to seeing them again. "How do you like your gift?" Aaron asks me as his arm drapes across my shoulder as we sit on the top deck of the boat. I look over at his handsome face. I touch his cheek with my hand. I lean in kissing him on the lips. "I love you. And you have to be the sweetest man alive. I love this boat!" I gush joyfully. "I was worried it might be to much. But I always have wanted to own a boat. Remember when your father tried to make me in the son he never had? When I went fishing with you both? And you ended up catching more fish than me?" he chuckles deeply. I blush. "Yes, I do" I giggle. "I bet if we ever fish off this boat then I could out fish you now to" I tease playfully. He shakes his head. "No way, I am ten times better now. I can out fish you. Maybe we can all go fishing like the good old days, take your father out and maybe even my father. But he hates fishing, so I don't know about that" he laughs. "I like that idea! Melody can come to! It will be a blast" I add. "I miss those times" "Me too. But I love these times more. Because back then the old Aaron could never do this" he says softly. He leans in and kisses me on the lips. His lips mold perfectly with mine. My heart melts for him. His words were so sweet. I loved him so much. "True but I had wished the old Aaron would have done that" I giggle after we kiss. "Too bad he was such a chicken huh?" he jokes. He smiles at me. Looking a little bit shy again. I loved this man with all my heart. He was my first love and my last. "I loved that Aaron just as much as I do my Aaron now. But I am glad we are not in the past.
