For Bella, escaping to the prestigious Nine Oaks university was a chance of real freedom.

Except nothing in Nine Oaks is quite what it seems , monsters prowl the darkness with grotesque faces and the sound of feathered wings fill the air every night.

Nine Oaks isn’t just any school. No, it’s a safe haven for Angels and Demons.

And Bella must find her place quickly for not everyone who claims to be her friend has her best interests at heart.

Some might even want her dead.

Prologue
Faith The clang of Hunters blade against mine was loud in the relative silence of the clearing . I was getting better with a sword but I was still no match for him and I doubted I ever would be. Not that it mattered, I enjoyed our little sparring matches. And they were few and far between. My life had changed considerably in the years since I had been kidnapped and taken to hell only to fall in love with the seven deadly sins. For one I was in my final year, although my major had changed. Theology. Go figure. It seemed apt seeing as who I was the daughter of and who I was in a relationship with. Sometimes it kind of felt like cheating but hey… I had always been good at working with what I had. Take the sins themselves, when I had met them they had been hell bent on destroying each other. I had brought them together. All of us together actually. Being with them , waking up to their faces and falling asleep with their kisses every day for the last three years had been the best years of my life. We spent most of our time on the earthly plane but holidays were spent here. In hell. Which was my favourite place. This was the place we could actually be our selves but our time here always seemed to go to quick and we could never leave Nine Oaks for long. We had the House of Sins to run. A safe haven for the supernaturals. It had started as a place for demons and nephillim and I hadn’t in a million years counted on just how many would need our help. Many weren’t powerful and ended up leaving. Not needing the reminder that they were different. But every now and then there was one.. and it was always that one we had to ready for. Taking advantage of my day dream, Hunter knocked the sword out of my hand and wrapped his arm around my waist. Tumbling us backwards on to the grass. And I fell on top of him happily. Squealing. Because I would never get sick of being in his arms. “You never play fair.” I teased before pressing my lips to his. “You never want me to.” He kissed me right back. I loved all my sins but I revelled in spending time with them individually. It kept our bond strong. Not that anything in the world could break it. I was sure of it. I felt the tip of his tongue press against the seam of my mouth and moaned. Hunters hand came up, pushing between our bodies as he started to undo the many buckles on my leather armour. His movements jerky with need. “Will you two just stop.” Elsdors voice cut through the lust filled haze. “Every time I see you Faith, you have a sin on you.” Moving my head I grinned up at him. One of my best friends. Elsdor was well over seven feet tall, with shaggy brown hair and a scar on his cheek. He was the most annoying son of a b***h in two dimensions but I loved him anywhere. He also had the body of a horse. Being a centaur. He told me off often and I fondly called him Horse face even though his face was human and kind of handsome . If you liked the rugged type. “Technically I’m on a sin.” I smiled as Hunter laughed. “What’s up Elsdor.” Pushing myself up I wiped the grass and mud from my palms on my thighs. There was no way he would have interrupted us if there wasn’t something wrong. “My father?” It would be just my luck. I wasn’t even sure if my daddy dearest was even alive but I couldn’t shake the fear that the crazy angel would pop back up and finish what he had started when he had tried to kill us all. “No.” Elsdor shook his great head. “A new student . Powerful. Sebastian sent word for you to come home.” By home he meant back to the human world. “Schools not even started yet. I have ….” He cut me off. “Sebastian was insistent. Says they are going to need all hands on deck with this one. She arrived this morning with the early admissions. Young and extremely powerful.” The last words made Hunter climb to his feet. “How powerful?” “More powerful then anything else you have dealt with.” Elsdor frowned. “Angel or…..” “Angel. Her name is Bella Morte.” I blinked at him, unsure I had heard him right. Yeah maybe it was time to go back. It seemed Beautiful Death had come to Nine Oaks.
