"Give up the girl Tommy! There is nothing you can do about it!" the rouge said. I was hiding in one of the holes in the trees here in the woods, my parents are fighting to save me. I can't do anything because I haven't got my wolf yet, I am just 17 years old. My father hid my scent with a potion that he made me drink before the rogues came. I don't even know why they are after me. "Over my dead body! You left the pack just for blood yet you want my daughter? How dare you!" "I am not the one who wants your daughter, this is just pure business but I can play with her before I gave your daughter to my client." "Damn you! You won't get to touch even the end of her hair! Argh!" I felt the trees falling and shaking, their bodies slamming on the ground. I want to help but I don't want to disobey the Alpha's order. But I can't take it. My body started to hurt, my bones are being stretched out. "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "Ah! So that is where you are hiding little girl?" "No! Get away from my daughter!" I went out from where I was hiding and saw that my father is trying his best not to let the rogues come near me. "Daddy what is hap--AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" I huff some are to breathe. "You are shifting! But why now? It's too early!" he said, "None of us are early shifters!" I felt my clothes tearing up as I grew bigger. 'So this is shifting? It hurts.' ' Don't Worry, Everything will be okay, I promise.' 'Who are you?' 'I am your wolf. My name is Ruby. The Goddess already allowed me to be with you.' 'The Goddess?' 'Yes, now let me take over for now and you can rest for a while, I know you are tired' I looked at my father still fighting but he is exhausted already and I know he only has a little time left. I need to shift. I relaxed even though it hurt a lot and let Ruby take over. I closed my eyes and felt like I am floating in the air. When I opened my eyes I saw white socked paws with a hint of red like the color of the blood. I looked at the back and saw my fur in full red all over. I feel stronger than usual. 'Is this?' 'Me? Yes. Time to fight!' I charged at the rogues who were ganging up on my father. "Not fair! There are too many of you!" I said. "Aria?" "Hi, dad! Sorry, I'm late!" "Heh! Yeah, you are late." I attacked one of the rogues and snapped its neck. "ALPHA! WE ARE HERE! BACK UP IS HERE!" I heard more loud footsteps approaching our direction. Those are the pack warriors and it sounds like Uncle Brandon our Beta! "Aww! I was just starting to have fun!" "ROGUES FALLBACK! RETREAT NOW!" The leader of the rogues said, but it was too late for them to retreat now, they were all dead. "Aria, baby you have grown now. It is such a shame that your mom didn't see this before she died." I heard my father say…I turned and saw him, wounded and covered in blood. "Daddy?" "Come hear baby. Don't worry, the rogues are gone now," he said out of breath. But before I could take a step…he fell to the ground, not moving an inch. "Daddy!" I ran to his side, shifting back into my human form. Uncle Brandon, now in his human form, wrapped me with a blanket, "Daddy please don't die, please don't leave me!" I cried. "Remember this Aria, your mother and I will never leave your side. We are here, and will always be with you in your heart no matter where you go." I took his hand and smiled. "I will remember it, Daddy, my Alpha." I said and smiled, but it quickly faded, "Mom, Dad… I promise to protect the pack, just as you always have. Thank you for everything you’ve done. Get some rest" I stand up straight and turn to the pack warriors, "From today on, I will be the new Alpha" I announced. "Warriors! Salute to the new Alpha!" Beta Brandon said, those in wolf form howled and the other saluted. "Burn the enemies' bodies. Pack meeting after an hour." I ordered and ran back to the Packhouse. "Aria!" my best friend Lily called. "Hey." "Are you okay? My father told me what happened. I’m so sorry." "It's not your fault Lily. Anyway, I see that you and the others protected the packhouse." "Oh, yeah! It was hard, but we managed. Also...are you okay with taking over? You know my father could be in charge until you're 18." "It’s okay. My father already taught me everything I need to know once I took his place. Where is Frake?" "He's assisting the doctors with the wounded, Imane is handling the things with the damaged houses, and Hirochi is assisting the other pack warriors on patrol with her sister Iris." "Thank you for the detailed report Lily." "That’s all I can do for now. I need more training before I can fight alongside you on the battlefield as your Beta. Additionally, we need to recruit more male wolves since we lost so many in the fight. The rogues are getting more powerful. I wonder why?" We arrived at the meeting room. I sat in the Alpha’s chair, where the pack’s previous Alpha’s before me have sat. "Someone is in contact with them… They came after me, but our backup came before they could kill my Father. The rogues were killed before they could escape." "I thought Rogues worked alone?" "Not if there’s money and power involved, especially if they’re trying to take over the land." "You know this much?" "If you focus on our history class? Yes." She just scoffed at me. After a few minutes, everyone came into the meeting room and we started the meeting. Beta Brandon just summarized everything on the report. I ordered them the things to do based on the reports, like training more male wolves, building more stronger walls on the border, and stronger houses for the pack. It's a good thing that the packhouse didn't take too much damage thanks to my strong friends. I also ordered them to add more patrols on the borders. "How about your ceremony? When do you want to do it?" "Tonight. So no one will try to snatch it. I need to rest. Me shifting forms has made my whole body ache." "As you ordered Alpha. Lily please accompany the Alpha to her room and help her take a bath. You two stinks already." "Yes, Dad." Lily said and turn to me, "Let's go?" I nodded and made my way to our room. It's been a long day and we all needed some rest before the ceremony.
