All Over Again

PROLOGUE As soon as I woke up this morning I knew that my day was going to be very bad. It was this weird feeling down in the pit of my stomach that felt strangely like puke ready to spew out of my mouth. Very vivid description I know but that was what it really felt like. He said he would meet me at the quaint little restaurant down the street. He’s a busy man so I know better than to make him wait any longer. I finally stop stalling and pulled myself out of the house even though I don’t want to. Please god make my day go better than my gut is telling me. I drove to the diner and waited for him. "So what is it that you have to tell me?" He asks sitting across from me. I didn’t even hear him come up to me. Maybe I was so lost in my own head that I didn’t even hear the door chiming until here he is across from me. "I'm sure the news that I have for you, you won't like." I answered. He looked as perfect as the day I first met him. His boyish charm but manly ways was got me to fall for him. Too bad the feeling wasn’t mutual. "How can you say I won't like something if you haven't even given me the chance to try it." He raises a perfect eyebrow at me. “C’mon try me. I can take it.” "Hello, I'll be your waitress for today. What can I get you?" Thankfully the pretty brunette waitress bought me some time. "I'll have coffee, black no sugar." He answers her. Just like your soul. I thought dryly. "And for you miss?" "Water thank you." I nod at her. "Be back in a sec with your drink orders and then I’ll take your food orders." She nodded and scurried off. "You have that far away look in your eyes and I need you to tell me what's wrong." "And don't even think of lying to me." He added. Most of the times when he speaks to me it sounds as if he cares. But we both know that’s not the case. This agreement that we have doesn’t call for caring about each other. But I can’t help the way I feel about him. "Like I said, you won't like it." "Here are your beverages. Would you like to order now?" The waitress asks. "Uh, yes. I'll have your blackened ribs covered in hot sauce." He says and hands her the menu. "And I'll have your shrimp scampi." I hand her my menu too. "Great choices. I'll be back in a few with your orders." She saunters away. "Tell me what's bugging you." He demands as soon as the waitress is far enough from the table. "Fine. If you want to know so badly.” We stay in silence for a few seconds before I finally conjure up the courage to say what's on my mind. "I'm pregnant." I blurt out. It took him a few seconds to comprehend what I said. "What?" He whispers his face white as if he's seen a ghost. "I told you, you wouldn't like it." I answer watching his face nervously. "Is it mine?" He demands. I'm hurt he would even ask me that. And why was that the first thing to come out of his mouth? "What? Of course it's yours." I answer outraged. "How are you so sure? How do I know you don't just go around opening your legs for everybody? Are you even sure you're pregnant?" He fires off, his voice raising higher with every question drawing attention from a few people around us. "I'm sure that the three tests that I took confirmed it, plus my visit to the doctor where she too did a test." I raise my voice right back. "There's only one thing to do to solve this." He mutters. I think it's sad to say that my mind thought that he would get down on one knee and propose, but I sure as hell wasn't ready for what he said next. "Get an abortion." "Absolutely not." I screech as I stand, knocking over the chair behind me. It's safe to say we have drawn quite the crowd. "I will not kill this baby inside of me just to please you. I will keep it and I will use it against you in every way. I'm going to be a mother and a father to this child, it won't even realize that someone's missing. We won't need you I promise you that. I'm going to ruin you the way you ruined my life. I can't go back to work because I'm the slut that slept with a business partner, they don't want me back there. I gave everything I had to you. And this is what I get in return. Well you know what? f**k you Stanley." I shout in his face as I pick up my bag and walked out of there ignoring the waitress asking me what is she suppose to do with the meal. Well she can shove it up his ass for all I care.
