Welcome to Hell
“Hey! It’s little red riding b***h!” Serena cringed hearing the god awful nickname most of the kids in town had given her back in sixth grade after one bad Halloween. The red clock, black skirt and tank top she wore weren’t bad enough; it was the night she started her period and she wasn’t able to get away fast enough before everyone found out. If it wasn’t already for her father dying just before her birthday a few months before now she was being called little red because she had red hair, dressed as her and started her period in front of her whole school. To make matters worse the mocking was coming from none other than Dominic Mariano. Dom had been her childhood best friend up until that sad day. He was the one who gave her the nickname and exiled her to the loner groups. He was the reason she avoided staying after school and didn’t talk to much of anyone outside of Rosie. She quickly hurried along trying to get away from him and into the woods where she could avoid him, but two of his goon friends were standing in her way suddenly. She gasped sharply, clung to her books and backed away only to fall right into Dom. Her books went flying everywhere while he stepped backwards and she landed on her ass with a groan.  “No, no don’t let them get ruined!” Serena exclaimed trying to collect the loose music sheets scattered around her. She nearly had them all while the boys laughed when Dom stepped on the last few pages making her stop pulling them. She heard it rip and gasped softly in fear it might be lost. “Please move. Please don’t let them tear. I beg you please.” She cared for little in this world, but these were the last few pages she had of her father before he passed away. A secret she had planned for her mother was to finish the song and play it for everyone on graduation which was only a few months away. Dom bent down, lifting his foot for only a moment before snatching them from her hands. “What is this? A love letter written in some hidden language?” He joked as if he had never seen the notes before. Her father had taught him how to play piano a long time ago, but that felt like it was a lifetime since his passing. Venus was heartbroken and looked away knowing her father would be upset knowing how Dominic was treating her now.  “Dom, please. That is all I have left of my father. Can I have them back?” She managed to get past the squeaking in her voice, though it came out more as a whisper then anything else. He laughed, his boys joining him for a moment before her heart broke in two watching him rip the pages in fours.  “Daddy’s little girl still? To bad! Your daddy is dead!” He yelled at her in a harsh mocking tone that made her look away as tears fell. His boot came up shoving into her chest and pushing her down on her back. She grunted softly and tried to get up, but two of the boys were holding her down and they proceeded to try and destroy the rest of her books. She managed to struggle free standing up and shoved Dom off them making everyone go quiet for a second. No one in the school messed with Dominic. He was captain of most of the sports teams, worked out like crazy and drove every girl insane. Everything changed in an instant. Never had she shoved him or bucked back, so when she did he was more then angry. “Justin, get the pills.” “Dom, hey this isn’t some party. She’s not gonna take them…” Justin, one of his boys, started to fight back at him, but with a simple glare the boy stopped talking. She heard him rummaging through his pocket for something. She knew this would be bad, and had to get out of there soon. Not wanting to abandon her work she got down on her knees trying to grab up her stuff, but two sets of hands were pulling her backwards and holding her down. Justin, a big dark haired man with blue eyes, came at her holding her mouth open with some force shoving something into her throat. She went to spit it out, but he held her mouth closed as well as her nose until she swallowed. He finally let go before she got dizzy, making her cough and try to gag it up. Neither boy let her go so she could try to force herself to throw up whatever it was he had given her, but it didn’t matter. It had started to take effect.  “Bring her to the spot.” Dom snapped at the boys who proceeded to drag her, while she weakly struggled against them, through the school football field for what seemed like forever. By the time they reached a stop she was so dizzy and out of it, she couldn’t see who was holding her. “Strip her down and tie up her hands.” She heard Dominic barking out orders, felt hands on her body before her wrists were tied up over her head to something behind her. It felt like wood against her back, and rocks against her thighs and legs but she couldn’t really move.  “Dom, come on. It’s all fun and games but she’s not one of those girls. You know a cheerleader. A dumb one. She will tell someone if she remembers anything.” She was so groggy and out of it, but she heard them loud and clear.  “No she won’t will you little red?” Dom was suddenly over her, tapping her on the side of the face with his hand. “You’re so out of it, you think this is a dream right? Just a bad dream. This didn’t really happen to you, not by me. I just destroyed your work and left you be. Someone else must  have done it right? Good girl. Leave us!” Dom kept talking but Venus couldn’t respond. Maybe he was right. Maybe she fell back and hit her head hard and passed out. Now she was dreaming. Right? There was departing footsteps and then silence. She didn’t know what was going on, trying to gain strength in her legs and arms to move, but she felt like jello. She was to out of it to really know what was happening to her. There was pain but she couldn't find the source of it because it felt like it was coming from everywhere. Her legs, her arms and shoulders, the cuts on her back and a weight on top of her. It was like someone was trying to torture her and get her to scream.  “You forgot about me S. Forgot that I love your dad to. Forgot that I loved you. You cast me out of your life, made me mourn alone. I hate you for that.” She heard a voice she recognized but it was kind of in and out. She felt him grab onto her face, forcing her into a kiss and she got up the strength to try and stop him. Biting down on his lip hard enough to make him scream she felt a hard slap to her face.  She wished what happened next was a dream, but she was slowly waking up from the drug while he continued to cause her pain Eventually she let herself drift off somewhere hoping her happy place would make her forget what was happening and give her strength to survive. When he was finally done with her, he was shoving more pills into her mouth making her swallow them yet again by force. He kept whispering it was just a dream and he wasn't there and maybe she might have believed it, if it wasn’t suddenly for the terrifying screams coming from a distance. Or maybe it wasn’t in the distance. A figure of a man running away came across her blurred vision before that of what appeared to be a four legged creature. She tried to move again, but her hands were still restrained and she was going to pass out. Perhaps this was for the best, the beast of the forest getting her. It would be better than remembering whatever it was he had just done to her.  She shivered, feeling a cold nose against her skin. She was suddenly hit with adrenaline when the nose became teeth gnawing into her side, legs and shoulder with animistic growls making her scream in agony. When the creature was finally tossed off her she heard two creatures fighting a few feet from her, but she couldn’t move. She managed to look up once the teeth were gone and she swear she saw a giant black wolf look back at her with sad human like green eyes before taking off. It had to be the drugs or maybe the blood loss, but he ran off after whatever he knocked off her and left her tied up to the tree. Eventually her body gave out. Between the cold, drugs, blood loss and trauma she couldn’t hold up the fight any longer. After what felt like hours of crying for help, of hope someone would come she gave in and let the darkness take hold. She had nearly gone fully into the waiting death, when she heard feet scurry upon her and voices.  “Over here! I found a body!” It was one of the police officers from her small town, Abbot. He was young, just a few years older than Serena and just out of his rookie days. She was too out of it to really see, barely opening her eyes to slits. His form got bigger as he ran over to her and knelt down. “Someone call the coroner and the ambulance. She’s gone.” Pruitt, the town sheriff, declared reaching her next. Serena tried to say something to let them know she wasn’t dead, but her body was too weak. “Get me forensics as well. Someone get me a camera!” “Poor girl, she was tied up here. Looks like it was a rape gone wrong sir. Look at the marks on her inner thighs and the way she is laid out. There’s dried blood. Then she was left for the boys to find her. Looks like something big scared them off, but she had to have died slowly.” Abbot replied, touching Venus, who felt like ice, around her thighs showing off her private area and inner thighs where Dom had his way with her.  “Any ID? She looks like the Even's girl, but I haven’t got a call from Stacy. It couldn’t possibly be her. See what you can find around here. If one of the boys tried to rape her, they might have left her clothes behind. I don’t think he meant to leave her to the beasts. She wasn't supposed to die, at least not from what he was going to do to her.” Abbot couldn’t see what Pruitt was saying and Serena wouldn’t have believed it either. Dom had done nothing but hurt her since middle school. There was no way he would have ran if he wanted her to live.  It seemed like another hour or more before the team arrived. She heard snaps of cameras and movement still barely able to see from the small slits of her eyes. All the while she tried to gain strength to tell them she wasn’t dead. A groan, a breath, a single movement so they wouldn’t cut her open and really kill her. She couldn’t feel her body yet, but she was still thawing out from the night's chilled air and loss of blood. She couldn’t even figure out why she was even alive to begin with. This all should have killed her. Everything Dom had done and the beast had done on top of the cold night, she should be more then dead, but the darkness didn’t stay. After pictures were done and the corner declared she was dead, her hands were finally untied, her body rolled and covered in a white cloth. She felt them pull her up onto a ambulance bed and start to wheel her to the ambulance. Her heart started to pound in her chest bringing life back to her through adrenaline, afraid they might start an autopsy on her and really killing her. “Stop!” Abbot called out rushing over seeming to have noticed the small moment she made with her hand. Everyone paused looking at him like he was crazy but they waited and she moved her hand once more. It was small, just a few fingers wiggling, but everyone held their breath as Abbot took it as a sign and leaned down with his ear to her mouth. She let out a soft breath and took in another shallow one to replace it and suddenly he was jumping for joy. “Take her to the hospital! She’s not dead! She’s not dead!”  “That’s just her muscles son. She is gone. They are doing it involuntarily. That's what corpses do when you pick them up let out air and jump. Let them take her. Let her be at peace.” Sheriff Pruitt said getting closer and pulling Abbot's hands off her. She heard them walking over to her and the people pushing the bed starting again. Something was being pulled up over her slowly when they came to a stop, but Serena was determined not to let them actually kill her. Mustering all her strength  she forced it out a sound. She was trying to say no. It wasn't loud enough the first time, but she had to try harder. Whatever was keeping her alive managed to make her suck in a deep breath as much as it hurt and get the word 'stop' out and  everyone stopped moving for a second as if to see what she would say next. She said once more, 'stop' and they changed direction quickly. .  “I told you!” Abbot exclaimed walking over to the gurney and taking her hand. Imminently they  started to take her vials, poke and stab at her to get her ready for the hospital. There were whispers from everyone about how she might have survived this night, but she didn't care. At least they knew she was alive. She could relax. “Can you hear me hun?” Serena replied with a groan moving her hand again in his for him to know she did hear him. He looked at his boss and everyone around him.   “Get her to the hospital now! This is now an active crime scene and attempted murder case, find me some shred of evidence of who did this to her.” Pruitt called out nodding for Abbot to get in the ambulance with her. Serena didn't care what they were going to do at the moment, she was just glad to hear she had a chance to live. Thanks to Abbot who had saved her life, but her body was trying to heal itself and she really was exhausted from fighting all night. Closing her eyes fully again once she was lifted into the ambulance, she let her body fade into a death like sleep...
