1 Summon Jinnee and Demon
The superior creature from the Atlantis world A spirit of all possibilities and everlasting power. Faith on you must I give; let my desiring wish come true. In my name, Edgar Lee, I command you to appear in this world!   For the nth time, Edgar Lee repeated the mantra as he stood over the summoning circle which was emitting a red light.   He waited for something to happen, but nothing else appeared there.   “There should be something here,” was probably Edgar’s repeated phrase other than the same mantra he was reading and reciting. He had been saying the same thing over and over that he started to memorize the entire mantra.   He waited for a little more and stood there, staring at the circle. “I only need myself to summon a jinnee,” he said and added, “I don’t need anyone else.”   He reread the same page where mantra to summon a jinnee was written. Jinnee was one of the dominating and powerful creatures that lived in the Atlantis, a world where all hierarchy of spirits lived.   Jinnees were known to be the most-summoned for those who desperately desired. Not only it would grant wishes, but it would grant any three wishes the summoners ever wanted.   He had been trying to conjure one for almost a month now, without any mercy to pay himself even just a short rest. With all the experience he had, he was confident he’d be the first to summon a jinnee alone.   There was an important detail about summoning a jinnee.   Twelve summoners were required and needed to summon one jinnee, and he needed more  than just himself to succeed in summoning it. He didn’t forget about the crucial detail; he was too confident that he could do it without anyone else.   After thinking for some time, he decided to try again, but before that, he tapped his spiritual power to its full capacity, until the summoning circle grew a little bigger and even brighter.   He recited the mantra once again.   The superior creature from the Atlantis world; A spirit of all possibilities and everlasting power. Faith on you must I give, let my desiring wish come true. In my name, Edgar Lee, I command you to appear in this world!   He waited for something again, but there was no portal—where the jinnee should be out from. There’s not even a sign that a portal would appear.   After that one last try, his patience was at the peak of his limit. With a sigh, he finally accepted his failure and settled aside his desire to summon a jinnee.   He considered few ideas and after battling with his own conflicting thoughts, he decided to continue summoning. But this time, he chose a random mantra.   He thought of summoning a high-tier spirit that he could abstract a concentrated power from.   With the same summoning circle, he stood inside the circle and recited the random mantra in a yelling manner.   A major creature from a powerful world; Spirit of omnipotent power and control; Your blood irking with darkness, I ask you of something. In my name, Edgar Lee, I command you to appear in this world!   A forceful wind swirled inside the circle that sent his slightly thinning hair around along with the dust in the basement. Which, was never cleaned for almost two years now.   Finally, something happened. He grinned and praised himself mindfully. “Not bad, Edgar,” he said as he watched a cloud of black and other colors form within inside the summoning circle.   He successfully summoned something again after quite a long time, but he never expected it to go down easily.   When the creature crept out of the portal, he was petrified. He definitely knew that sharp and cruel-looking appearance; without a doubt, it wasn’t a powerful spirit he had expected.   A demon. It was no less than seven feet tall, with rotting flesh and big horns. Its pair of eyes were red, and its body was covered with black smoke   Edgar panicked and flipped through the pages to search for a mantra that could send it back to where it came from, but the demon already knew his existence and they were after his flesh and soul.   “I’m so screwed!” he yelled under his panicked breath. He knew he could die at any moment and he only had a few seconds to save himself.   Instead of sending them back to their world, he thought closing the portal was currently the best solution because more demons were coming.   He could just figure out later about summoning another creature that could help and kill the demons.   As he was quickly mumbling few more threads of the curse, he stumbled upon a page that had a mantra to force close a portal.   Portal of my circle, I command you to disperse!   He yelled for once, but never worked.   He didn’t try for a second time and thought that if he couldn’t send it back or close the portal, he’d just summon something to defeat the demon.   A creature from the Gonzales world; A grotesque stone monster. Frighten evil around me In my name, Edgar Lee, I command you to appear in this world!   Another portal appeared and from there, a gargoyle flew out of the portal.   Since Edgar was frightened, he walked away from the approaching demon. The timing of the gargoyle was perfect.   The gargoyle flew to the demon and the demon growled as its attention went to the gargoyle.   Edgar was fascinated with the scenario.   The demon stayed at its place while the gargoyle flew over the demon and stoke attack to the demon, aiming for its head.   The stone gargoyle’s claws dug to the horns of the demon and scratched it. The demon whimpered and with its big hands, shooed the gargoyle away.   The demon successfully grabbed to the gargoyle’s leg and threw it to the cemented floor, cracks were dented on the back of the gargoyle but it never gave up.   With the gargoyle’s crumbling wings, it stood and stroke one last attack to the demon. One of the demon’s horns was torn from its head.   The demon had had enough. With two of its large hands, the demon held both the flying gargoyle’s feet and threw it at the cemented floor. The blow was fatal that the gargoyle was crushed on the cemented floor.   The demon looked at Edgar, and Edgar ran towards the door of the basement.   But the demon caught him.   He tried hard to flip through the pages to find something that could save him. He tried to summon a pegasus to take him out of the villa, but it never worked.   While crying in pain to the demon’s claws digging into his skin, he still continuously tried to close the portal. As he did, he was dragged towards the portal. Whatever world it led to, he’d know when he got there. Or he’d never.   He closed his eyes. He knew it was his end and no one could even save him.   Edgar pleaded for his life as the demon dragged him to the portal. He still held the Book of Dimensions, while he was starting to lost his consciousness.   At that moment, the portal began to shrink.   The book slowly slipped out of his lifeless grasp and it fell in the middle of the summoning circle with a light thump.   As the portal completely dissolved into thin air along with him, the summoning circle began to shrink as well into a thin dot of light. This was because the power of the summoning circle could only work, only if the one who formed it still had the spiritual energy on earth.   When the summoning circle was gone, there was an exploding virtual force that sent the Book of Dimensions under the wooden drawer.   Edgar was now gone. What was left of him in the basement were the drips of his blood on the basement floor and the trace of the creature.   ***   “Did you remove the horn?” the person asked a guy in forensic clothes. The guy nodded.   The person nodded back and stood by the basement door. The person saw another forensic guy removing something under the drawer. “Hey, hey! Leave it back there.”   The guy chuckled. “Oh, I forgot about that.”   Another guy appeared placing the things back to its places. “Woah, is that that book?” he asked.   The other guy who placed it back nodded. “Yep. The Book of Dimensions,” the guy stood and talked like he was a narrator. “The mighty and powerful book that could summon a creature from other worlds.”   The other guy nodded in fascination.   “Don’t dream about getting it, you won’t be able to read it anyway,” the person on the basement door grinned.   “But boss, why are we leaving the book here?” the curious guy asked.   The person smirked and sipped onto the lit cigarette, blew its smoke, and waved a folded paper with the other hand, “Did you forget the plan? We’re finding the new owner of the book.”
