Forget Me Not

It’s been a month since my last change. My wolf is getting restless. Living where everyone knows you're different makes things harder. My mom says that it's only harder for me because I haven't found my mate yet. I'm the last alpha in my generation since my dad vanished. Last time I saw him I was three and he was leaving for "official business" and couldn't take me with him. I knew something was wrong when mom started taking down all the pictures of him when I was six. I never said a word. I needed to be strong. For her and me even though I had no idea what was going on. Nothing has been said about him since he left. I have to be a strong alpha when I'm old enough to run the pack. I sure hope I'm as good as my dad. He was a fearless ruler and everyone looked to him for everything. I always felt the pressure to be great because what happened when I was born was very rare. When a girl is born there is always a boy first because women aren't supposed to lead, but I was born alone. Whatever the moon goddess has in-store for me I hope is worth all the criticism I have received since I was born. Let's pray I can do what I was made for.
