Every story begins with something. A greeting, a fight, a kiss, or maybe even a fall. Their story? It began with a simple, innocuous text. Daniel: Your song sucks, princess. Just thought I should be kind enough to break it to you. Well, you probably want to scratch out innocuous. Paige Williams stared at that not-so-innocuous message on her computer screen. If you knew Paige Williams, you'd know that she loathed confrontations. She never saw the point. She didn't mind criticism. Unlike many, she encouraged it. But when she received that text on her **, she inwardly cringed. She had posted a cover of one of Bad For You's more popular songs on her ** page, that was a secret to everyone but two of her closest friends -- Emma and Chloe.  Maybe it was because the guy went a little overboard by sending a direct message and attacking her privately instead of just commenting publicly like most of the viewers did. Maybe it was because of how he used the term princess as if remarking the pretentiousness of her music, as if she was just a kid playing with notes and words, oblivious to the horrendous result. Maybe it was his tone, as if pointing out the obviousness of the situation- that was clear to everyone but her. Maybe it was just the mocking and rude sentence altogether that annoyed the hell out of her. But Paige Sophie Williams was upset. She was even more upset because of the fact that it made her upset. All in all, she was very, very upset. So she did what she never does -- she confronted the guy. Paige: I'm sorry you had to hear that, but you went out of your way to tell me how my singing sucks so the joke's on you. I'd rather believe the 100 legit accounts than a nameless, faceless "Daniel" :)  Feeling a lot better, she shut her laptop, switched off the bed side lamp, thanked God for everything, like she usually did, and slipped off under her covers. ♡♡♡   Thousands of miles away, Sebastian Daniels was rejoicing. The day had finally come to an end for him, and he was left alone. He liked the solitude, for it was free from ever-judging glances, forced small talks and faked interests. His brother, Jordan and their best friend, Robert, were one of the very few left who actually gave a s**t about him and thankfully, were the only two other people who were a part of his band. Having nothing better to do, he decided to log into his Finsta by the name of Daniel and started scrolling through the feed.  That’s when he came across a video of a girl, not much younger than him, playing one of their band’s songs. Her voice caught hold of his attention, clenched it tight and wouldn’t let go. It was his words, his band’s music and at the same time, it wasn’t. The way she sung it like she felt very single chord, the way she enunciated each word…it felt like the song was meant for her and his version of it was a mere imposter. He always had a looming fear that people would soon find out his lack of talent in singing, which was evident to everyone but him at the moment. This cover dug at his fear and he loathed it. Angry at everyone, but most of all, at himself, he slid into her DMs and sent her a text. Daniel: Your song sucks, princess. Just thought I should be kind enough to break it to you. Then he proceeded to watch some of her other covers, consciously not clicking the ones of his own band, and slept to the sweet lull of Paige William’s voice.
