Chapter One
Click. The sound of champagne glasses clinking together sounded. He grabbed her hand on his own, leading me away from the crowd of businessmen and their wives. "Where are we going?" Her giggles echoed. He flashed her a smirk. "My suite." "It's a bad idea." She chuckled as he kissed her down her neck. Her back was against the door. He used the key card and swiped it at the door. "Come on." His husky tone was low as he grabbed her hand before pulling her inside and closing the door behind them. Without wasting another minute, his hands went to her bottom and cupped her up. Her legs wrapped around his torso on instinct. He placed her on the cold leather couch before sitting up. Her smile made his body ache for her. He knew he was a bit drunk, but he would not regret taking this beautiful chocolate woman to new heights. He groaned and smashed his lips into hers. **** Jennifer My eyes fluttered open and everything was a blur. My low groans were not audible as my head throbbed in pain. This was hurting like crazy. I took in the creamy sheets that were in view and a frown instantly formed on my face. I heard light snores and I slowly but carefully turned my head. His bare chest was exposed from the sheets that covered his lower half. I gasped at the muscled v line and a very large print that was shaped under the sheets. Oh, I didn't. I quickly grabbed the sheets and pulled them away from my body to discover the worst thing I could imagine. I was naked! "Oh my god," I whispered harshly to myself. I looked around for something to cover myself with but only to find nothing. Where was my dress? It would be horrible if I tried to sneak out and he woke up when I'm still here. I slowly pulled the silk and then the sheets on my naked body and stood at my feet. My eyes grew big when I saw his naked body exposed. Jesus. That was in me? I also noticed a few red dots on the bed and tears formed in my eyes. My virginity was gone and I shared myself with a stranger. Clutching the sheets tightly to my body, I hurried out of the room, and as I looked over at the couch the white dress I had worn last night was on the floor. I couldn't remember anything that happened last night, but I was not going to mention it to anyone. I grabbed my dress and the matching white heels along with my MK bag. I pushed my messy unkempt hair out my face and hurried out of the room. My phone began to ring as I limped down the hall painfully. I was so sore everywhere. My breasts were tender and my legs and my pelvis muscles had so much pressure. "God, what did he do to me?" I mumbled before answering my phone. "Where are you, Jennifer? Your father and I have been waiting for you at the diner for thirty minutes. Our plane leaves in an hour and a half and we're trying to spend a little time with you before we go." "I'm on my way now." **** I entered the diner in pain as I looked around to find my parents. Once I spotted them, I took a seat next to my mother. "Goodness, Jen. You look a mess. What happened?" My mother asked with a face that showed concern. "I-I," I sighed. "Let's just say I had a long night." My mother didn't look convinced, but my dad did. "Well, I hope that charity didn't give you a hard time." My dad said. "Not at all. In fact, it was peaceful and elegant." "Well, did anything special happen, like you finding a man?" My mother winked and I cringed. "Uh, no. Can we change the subject? I mean I don't want to talk to my parents about an event that is not important. Tell me what you are going to do when you go back to Canada." I said quickly. "Well, your mother is getting her a bakery shop. Not too far from the royal palace." I hummed. The conversation continued as we ate breakfast. Anything to get my mind off my one-night stand. **** One month and a few weeks later, tears filled my eyes as I looked down at the pregnancy test in my hand. It was positive. I looked up at my mother and father who stood at the door. I had told them the truth about what really had happened at the charity event. About my one-night stand. I've been feeling sick and I have decided to take a pregnancy test. Everything was confirmed when the test came back positive. I did have s*x. I'm pregnant with a stranger's baby. "Oh, don't cry Jennifer." My mother said as she pulled me into her. I cried and sniffed. I couldn't believe it. "Say something, Jarold." My mother begged. My father was in shock but I could tell he was angry. "Say what, Maxine. My twenty-one-year-old daughter is pregnant. She doesn't even know who the father is in person. Her career has yet to start. How can she support a baby by herself?" My heart clenched in pain. "I made a mistake, dad. I'm sorry." "Will you abort it? Put it up for adoption?" I heard him ask. I gasped in shock. I stepped away from my mother. "No." I felt my blood boil every time he referred to the baby as an 'it'. "I'm keeping my baby." My father's face contorted with anger. "The hell you will." Maxine stood to her feet. "Jarold." My mother spoke in a warning. "I understand that you’re upset but you will not do this." My father looked at us with anger before storming out of the bathroom. I sighed as more warm tears streamed down my face. My mother looked at me and she pulled me into a hug. "I'm so sorry, baby," she said sincerely before pulling away. "It's not me who tells you what to do with your body, but you do have plenty of options if you don't feel like you're ready for a baby. I can take care of the baby until you're ready or you can step up and get prepared for motherhood." I wiped my tears as I let my mother's words sink in. It wasn't a hard choice because I'd already made up my mind when I had the feeling I was pregnant. "I'm able to care for both of us."
