CHAPTER 1
There was once a told tale of a clan whose leader could turn into a white lion. A man who was King of the South, of course there were other kings in Azania but he was the only one who could transform into a lion. Because of this ability, other kings felt intimidated by him and so they would try to set him up with their daughters and close female relatives to try and carry favor from him and ensure their kingdom's safety. But what they did not know was that the king could only marry a woman who bore a birthmark. No one knew where exactly the mark would be except for the elders in the royal family. Royalty or not such woman was destined to marry the white lion. CHAPTER 1: Meera's P. O. V I woke up with a splitting headache which made it a bit difficult to open my eyes. Urg... What did we drink last night? I got out of bed and dragged myself to the bathroom, did my business and went back to bed. The moment I closed my eyes my bedroom door swang open. "Meera, how many times do I have to tell you? A woman shouldn't sleep until this time of the day?" My aunt Liza. Sigh! She says that women should wake up on the c***k of dawn and slave around the house for God knows what. "Aunt... It's too early for this. Can't a girl get some sleep? " I stared lazily at her. "Early?" She sneered. " since when is 11:42 am early? Come on get out of that bed before I drag you out." she said obviously loosing patience with me before living my room. She wasn't going to say it the second time. I knew it and so even if I didn't want to, I got up, open the windows and did my bed then went and took a cold shower to get rid of the sleepiness. When I was done I got dressed and went downstairs to the kitchen where my aunt was cooking something on the stove. "Your breakfast is In the oven." she said not even looking at me. 'Wait is she mad?' I thought pulling the plate ot of the oven then it hit me. She woke up early and made breakfast to celebrate my Graduation since I went out yesterday and didn't have time to celebrate with her. Sh*t! She went all out on a full English breakfast there's even some backed beans. "Aunt" she turned her head slightly. "Thank you." I muttered feeling a little guilty. "It's just breakfast Meera, nothing special." she said clearly disheartened, she tried to hide it but I could see through it. "I'm sorry I didn't spend time with you yesterday. I should have came home early?" she looked at me with a small smile and said "It's okay kiddo, eat you food." she told me and continued stirring in a pot what I assumed was lunch. 'And Kiddo. She still think of as a child and I'm not. I'm 22 years old, I'm a woman now.' Ah whatever, she's not mad anymore and that's all that matters. I had my breakfast while chatting with my aunt. When I was done we went and sat in the lounge and watched TV. Though Fin City is always busy even on weekends, I wasn't going to go out. I had to make it up to my aunt for this morning. My parents died in car accident when I was a baby and my aunt is the only parent I'd ever known and her happiness mattered to me most. "Dude, where have you been? ?" Zoe roared almost busting my eardrums the moment i picked her call. That i***t had the crapiest manner, second tho Daisha's of course who was very divious and vulgar. We'd been friends for 3 years now and since then, we were inseparable. Until a few days before graduation when Daisha went MIA on us then showed up 3 days later saying she was busy at home which was total bullsh*t because we went it her house and she wasn't around. In the end we find out that she was now hanging around with Jess and her squad of glorified prostitutes. "jeez man! Are you trying to make me deaf?" I yelled ignoring the fact that I hadn't replied to her texts. "Mimi where are you? I've been trying to get hold of you." she said with a hint of annoyance in her voice. "Dude, I'm at home. What is it?" I replied. She must have some serious gossip. I thought. "You won't believe who I saw at Tidos' this morning?" I wanted to ask who but she continued. "I saw Daisha having breakfast with some guy I don't know. That slag, she completely ignored me when I went past the she acted like she didn't even know me Mimi." I muffled a laugh. "Is that why you're so worked up?" I asked her trying so hard not to laugh. Seriously Zoe never listens. "Of course it is, dude she's our friend." I chuckled. "Zoe, she was our friend and now she isn't. So please stay out of her business will you." she heaved a sigh on the other end of the line. "Yeah... You're right, she's no longer our friend." I could tell she worried. "Look Zoe, I know you care about her and so do I but she made her choice. She left us, so let it be please." Daisha was our friend but since she was the one who wanted nothing to do with us I wasn't going to force our friendship unto her. Zoe and I talked some more then we hung up. "Oh yes, I almost forgot. We are going to Balito next Friday. Your grand mother wants to see you." Aunt stated with a face void of any emotion. "grandmother??" I asked, my eyes widened in surprise. "Why? What does she want?" I asked again now feeling uneasy. What did she want? That old woman never liked me to begin with. She'd never summoned me before, what changed? My aunt who had been quiet for a moment suddenly answered. " I don't know Meera. All I know is that we have to be there on Friday." Her face was still emotionless which caused me to worry even more. She knew something but wouldn't tell me. Zoe and I went clubbing the next day. I told her about going to Balito and she wanted to come with until I mentioned my grandmother. Haha! Her exact words were, "dude I love you but I'd rather be a loner for a few days than to accompany to the witch's covenstead." which was funny because she was scared of her, though she'd never met her.
