Apocalypse : Beyond Imaginations

  Angela could hear the sound all around her. The sound of pain, of agony. It's been exactly five years since she joined the guardians, a group of skilled men and women who were supposed to end the chaos and prevent the apocalypse. They were referred to as champions and heroes, but  they failed. She failed. She underestimated him and his thirst for destruction. Darren Ark, or as he preferred to be called, Dark. He was a respected scientist and one of the closest friends of the former senator of Canada, Angela's father, Jonathan Knight. Dark believed the end of the world was imminent and decided to take matters into his own hands. He decided that the best thing to do was to create superior humans, people with enhanced abilities such as speed, strength and mentality. He used regular humans as lab rats, experimenting on them for his own purposes. Jonathan Knight discovered the truth and tried to persuade Dark to stop his  experiments but Dark was too far gone. He killed Jonathan and used his daughter Angela as one of his lab rats. Angela had turned out to be one of the few successful experiments.  Angela learned that Dark wasn't satisfied with creating super humans. He was secretly  creating a machine that could destroy every human on earth. Dark believed that with the weak and fragile, regular humans gone, the earth would be populated with the superior humans, the humans he experimented on,  and they would make the earth better. The only catch was that over 7.9 billion humans already living on the earth would be vanquished.   Angela refused to be one of Dark's pawns. She fought valiantly against the mad scientist for five years. She thought she could stop him by joining the guardians. She was wrong. They had all been defeated and Dark had already activated the machine. Billions of people were already dead and others were badly injured. Angela felt like it was all over.   Angela winced in pain. She hadn't felt pain in a very long time, but she could feel it now. Dark had won. She was ready to give up then she  remembered her father had died trying to stop Dark. She let the tears flow freely and didn't try to fight it. The humans were dying, her comrades were down, she struggled to get up. She had the strength and the incredible speed, and she decided to fight. She was determined to finally get this over with and stop Dark. She knew that stopping the mad villain wouldn't bring back the amount of people that were dead, but he had to pay for what he had done. Angela knew exactly where to find him. Dark had created a tower which he appropriately named 'the dark tower '. Angela walked past several lifeless bodies. She tried not to look at them, she kept on walking and then she heard a sound. Angela stopped. She turned around half expecting to see the monstrous villain. To her surprise, it wasn't Dark, it was her best friend Frey.   Angela knew she was lucky to have a friend like Frey. Frey was older and wiser, they had been friends since Angela joined the guardians. Angela studied Frey carefully. Frey was injured.     "You should rest Frey " Angela said concerned.   "No." Frey protested. "We don't have much time left . We have to stop Dark."  Frey paused for a while, then she said "Come with me."      Angela and Frey hurried through the destroyed cities. They ran. Frey was as fast as Angela. When they got to the dark tower  Frey stopped Angela.   "We're not going in there to confront Dark. We're going to use  one of the machines he invented, but I don't have time to explain now. Just follow me. "  Angela wanted to ask questions but she decided not to. She trusted her friend. She followed Frey into the tower. As expected, the tower was really dark. Frey led Angela into a room labelled 'room 314' . Angela could see the machine Frey talked about. It looked amazing but she had no idea what it was.  Just as she about to ask Frey, the door busted open and Dark appeared with one of his soldiers.   "Well, well.  What do we have here. " Said Dark.   "We're going to stop you  Dark. "    "Not if I destroy you first. " Dark said with a brilliant smile on his face .    Dark's super soldier grabbed Frey and threw her across the room. Angela pounced on the soldier with cat like precision and gave him a punch that made him stagger. She was about to punch him again but he grabbed her hand and flung her towards the machine. She hit her head on the switch of the machine. The machine turned on and began to glow.  "No! " Dark yelled.      Angela tried to get up but couldn't. The light was too bright, almost blinding her. She  could feel her body being pulled into the machine. She tried to stop it. She screamed " Frey, help me!"  Why had Frey brought her here? What did Dark build this machine for?  Angela had no answers. All she knew was that the machine kept pulling her in, untill she could see nothing and feel nothing.
