Princess elect?!

To be elected a princess is an honor, in the country of Heltos, the kings daughter was kidnapped before she could be introduced to the kingdoms. Dead or alive no one knows for no body was found and no ransom was given. I was found by my parents when she went missing, a mad man was walking the streets and found their door unlocked and killed their new born daughter and then disappeared into the night. They took me in and raised me in their plantation, where they breed Mustangs, Andulusian, and Friesian horses. But I also do work for the kingdom... I am a mercenary, and untouchable... I use magic have an uncanny healing ability, walk amongst the shadows. And I am a dream walker, very rare now. Most dream walkers were killed or murdered during and after the Twenty year war. For now I use most of my powers making up for the red in my ledger, by helping my neighbors with their crops, animals and gardens. I am on vacation from being a mercenary and so far I am enjoying being at home with my parents. Today is the day that my life change, for better or worse i have no idea. The morning started with my mom and I going to the stables an hour before the sun rises. We were checking on the stable hands and the new foals that were born over night. I quickly walk over to my pair of Andulusian horses, the stallion was solid black so I called him new moon; his mate is solid white and I named her Minavria and she was pregnant with her first foal. I was hoping that she would have given birth but I was slightly disappointed when I saw her still pregnant. "Well, Mina, another night preggo huh?" She softly whinnies at me while New Moon snorts. "I know new moon, getting tired of waiting as well are we? He shakes his head. A stable boy walk up to me with the grooming supplies. "Missy Blackheart, welcome back home. Its been a minute but we are exciting to see the young one.." He hoarsely states. "Twist with you taking care of them they could not be in better hands how long has it been since you had a vacation with lilly and your pups?" Twist, as I called him, was a werewolf has been working for my parents since I came into their lives. He smiles and rubs the back of his neck "Missy i just came back from the two week vacation that your parents gave me. And the bonus was nice as well we took the kids camping in Roma. It was nice seeing our pack."  "Thats awesome to hear how is Alpha Tren doing? " Very good missy, now no more small talk I need to clean these two and get them fed. you need to head back to the main house. He chuckles. Oh and lilly and the pups say happy birthday.  "Tell them thank you for me and give them hugs and kisses for me!" I replied.  "Yes ma'am I will give you and update on Mina's condition. He torted as he steps into their stall. O quockly walk away and start walking back to the main house, its cool out with a soft breeze. I shiver and walk a bit faster. I walk up to the back porch to find my mom sitting at one of the patio tables that was set up for two with hot tea waiting. My mom is a small woman standing at 5 feet weighing at 100 pounds, her hair was a soft gray and pulls back into a low bun, her lavender eyes sparkled when she sees me. "Hi birthday girl do you want some hot tea to chase the cold away as we watch the sun rise?" She softly spoke her voice sounding like a soft babbling brook. I smile back at her and sit down next to her " I would watch any sun rise with you. And I would love some tea. She pours a cup for me and for her and pours some honey into mine. I stir my cup and cup both of my hand around it and take a sip. We quietly sit there and watch the sun slowly rise over the horizon. "Baby girl, my birthday gift is on your bed would you mind checking it out?"  "Of course! I will be back down, is father.." "I told him to sleep in today he was up all night finishing up his gift to you"  "I swear he needs a decent nights sleep and a break. Thank you." I quickly give her a kiss and head inside. Our house is standard or a commoners house as the nobles call it. My father always told me " we may be rich but we are capable of doing the housework ourselves." And to be frank it was much easier there was no tension in the air and it feels homely. I quickly turn right and go up the stairs and sprint to my bed room on my bed laid a navy blue sundress with embroidered black and silver flowers along the bottom I quickly take off my clothes and put on the dress. It fits my curves perfectly and it stops a bit below my knees. I walk over to my floor length mirror, man I look stunning. Its not often I wear dresses so I decided to wear it today. I walk to my closet and pull out a black pair of closed toed flats to complete the look. I quickly brush out my long red hair and put it up in a high ponytail then I walk towards my dresser and pick some blue and white roses and place them in around the base of the pony tail as i was fixing my hair i could hear a faint knock and soft voices before my moms voice rings out.  "Simbyene! Can you come down please there is some one here with a message for you!" I sighed geez my team cant get along for two months without me. "I will be right there!" I step out of my room and look down my mom is tapping her foot and motions for me to come down. I quickly come down the steps and see a man sitting across my dad.  "Hello sir.. How may i be of assistance today?" I ask dryly. The messenger stand up quickly and give me a half bow.  "Lady Simbyene, my name is Silver Lune, and the king asks for you to come to the palace and participate in the selection of the princess elect. I stood there for a minute and the house fell silent my parents in shock at the news.  "Ah, and there are others being gathered as we speak?" My mom spoke breaking the silence.  "Yes ma'am" F**k i was so not expecting this.. "I see," I retorted with indifference, "Might as well get this freaking over with." "SIMBYENE!" She snapped. "Do not talk like that. Remember we were talking about you retiring from the job you do. Go to this and if your not chosen you can come home!" She softly stated after quickly taking control of her anger. She always speaks her mind but being respectful about it so everyone that we know listens to her when she speaks. She became more outspoken when she lost her first child and adopted me when she found me on the streets. I looked at her with my cobalt blues eyes, feeling amused and smiled. "Yes mom," I raised my right hand and place my left over my heart. "I swear I will do my best to be good while I am there." My mom looks and me and satisfied with my answer she nods. I turn towards silver and motion towards the front door. "Mister Lune, if you would not mind in leading me there, but before we go should i change into something more presentable?"  "You do not need to change Miss Blackheart. Your attire is just fine." He replied and starts to walk out the door. I quickly give a kiss on my dads head and a hug to my mom, we lingered a bit in the hug before we let go and I quickly follow him out the door.
