Prologue
Alicia I don’t know what I was thinking when I decided to watch a couple of horror movies. It was already midnight when I heard the rain pouring down, but not too long ago, a thunderstorm also accompanied it which made me feel chills to my bones. I quickly closed the TV and went into my duvet. Not going to lie about this, but I am really scared of thunderstorms, and I am more terrified after watching a horror movie which I should not have watched at all. I pulled a duvet over me and held my hands together. God, please, please save me from an unwanted ghost. Again that rude thunderstorm ringed, and it brought the chills inside me and I tightly held onto my duvet. Hoping I would not see any of the ghosts. I closed my eyes tightly. The way thunderstorms are ringing I have a feeling that it is going to rain heavily. I don't have any kind of problem with rain, but why does it have to come along with thunderstorms? And that, too, on that day when I watched a couple of horror movies. Something rang up which almost put me off my body, but when I saw the object which was vibrating, I slapped my temple. It was just my phone. I picked it up. "Hello." I said and didn't hear any voices. "Hello." I said again and again, no reply. "Hello, is someone there or not?" I shouted on the phone. "Boo." I got scared and fell from my bed and I could hear laughing on the other side. It was my friend Samantha, short Sam. "Sam you…" I warned her. But her laughs haven't stopped. I was irritated by her behavior. "Stop laughing, you stupid." I said and she laughed again. "Your mouth will burst out." I said and this time she stopped. "It is very fun to scare you, Alicia." She said and I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, yeah." I mocked her. "Don't be sad. I was just joking." She said, "You don't know your joke would have given me a heart attack, and you would have been crying over my dead body." I said and she sighed. "Do you have to talk about death?" She asked. "You started it and I finished it," I said, and she again sighed. "Let's forget it. Will you accompany me tomorrow to go shopping?" She asked. I seriously thought about it, but I wasn’t sure as I was feeling too lazy to go and yet wanted to go. "Hmm... I will tell you tomorrow only, and you go to sleep. It is already midnight." I said to her, "Sure I am going and you too. No ghost is going to harm you until I am alive." She said. "Yeah, I know that when the ghost sees your face he will die there only." I said and laughed and she joined me. Then we talked for a few minutes more and then we hung up. I was feeling quite good after talking to her. I went into my bed and was about to sleep when I heard a gunshot and immediately fear crept inside me. Now what is going on? But then for a while, when I hadn't heard anything, I thought that maybe it was all my imagination and till the time I was believing it, I again heard it, which made me scared to my core. I heard the hard knock on the door and I balled myself up as I was too scared to face my surroundings. I heard the knock again. I am not here. I am not here. I am not here. I kept on repeating while shaking a bit. "Open the door." I heard a heavy voice. It was a male. Now my thoughts shuffled. What would a man be doing on this scary night? Many possibilities come inside me. Like maybe, he is a Gangster or maybe a Mafia or maybe a Serial Killer. I tremble at that thought. "Open the door." The voice was loud, but it also contained a bit of a begging voice, as if he was asking for help, and I gathered some courage before I decided to open the door. I slowly went towards the door and heard another knock. By his constant knocking, my poor door can break as well. I twisted the door knob and opened it and a man came inside. Fully drenched, which made me realize that it wasn’t just any shower now, but a heavy downpour. "Close the door." He said, and I closed the door. I looked at him and tried to open the lights, only to realize that the lights were gone. I couldn't see him but the very next moment, the person was on my worn-out sofa and I quickly went to the room and slept, hoping that the next morning when I woke up it would all be a dream.
