"Do you..." The Priest peered into the tiny piece of paper where I had hurriedly scrawled by name.

"Miss Amy..." He paused slightly as he looked at me over the rim of his glasses.

"What is your surname?" he whispered.

Darn, I forgot to write that.

"Cheong..." I whispered back. I was wondering why we were whispering. The priest scrunched his face in confusion as he struggled to get the name.

"C-H-E-O-N-G" I spelt out.

The priest was shocked so was my husband-to-be, I didn't look a bit like my name.

"My Mum is American" I hurriedly explained, I just wanted this ceremony to be over.

The priest cleared his throat again.

"Do you Amy Cheong, take Mr Sebastian Carter as your lawfully wedded husband to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part, according to God's holy law, in the presence of God do you make this vow".

"Y-Yes ..." I stuttered, trying to calm my racing heart.

I hesitated as I sneaked a peek to my would-be husband, in less than 24 hours my life has changed so much. I knew nothing about the man whose name I would now answer. All is fair in Love and War.

"Yes, I do" I crooned as I sealed my fate.

Chapter One
My hands were clammy with sweat as I stared at the contract again trying not to panic or think as I sneaked another peek to my Husband whose emotion hadn't changed from the cold piercing looks he gave me. I leaned my head on the car rest as I relieved the events within the past 24 hours. We had flown into Delaware, Illinois, South Carolina this morning to get a marriage license since we were really in a hurry to get married ( the irony). From picking the marriage license from the county clerk to rushing into a store to pick a yellow frock for the wedding ( a far cry from my picture-perfect wedding), to picking up of the marriage certificate and finally driving back to New York. Life wasn't really a bed of roses. Who would have thought that getting married would change so much?. I sighed again as I tried to pick my scattered thoughts flipping through the contract. My eyes stopped at Term Number 5 as I gasped in relief. "NO s*x except by mutual consent from both parties" it read. I had been a bit bothered about the bedroom aspect, it is one thing to marry for money, it is another thing to have s*x without developing feelings and No s*x meant, no child, no aftermath responsibility and no regrets. The marriage would just be for 3 years and everyone would go their merry way. The vibration of my phone pulled me back to reality as I searched for it frantically, I just hope he wasn't looking my direction. I finally located the phone at the bottom of my handbag after fumbling my way through all its content. When I checked the caller ID it was Emily my best friend. "H-hello" I stuttered, It's hard to make a conversation when you're being stared at. "Hey, girl..." Emily shouted, "Where are you at?". "I..." "I'd been to your house since the morning and I'm standing at your front door now, no sign of you" She complained again. This is my reality. How in hell am I supposed to tell my best friend that I got married without telling her. How do I even tell my mom and my siblings? Gosh! I never thought about that. "Amy, You there?" she was sounding impatient. "Y-yes, I made a quick trip out of town and I'll be back soon". "Since when did you start taking quick trips out of town without telling me?" "It was kind of sudden and..." The phone was snatched out of my hands before I could finish the sentence. It was my husband, how dare he?. He ended the call and placed the phone next to him as he faced me. For the first time, I saw him clearly, He was beautiful. Amy gaped openly as she observed his sharp jaw, chin and cheekbones. On either side of his straight nose were two blazing green-emerald eyes. His dark brows were very graceful but currently furrowed into a scowl. His head was framed by thick, red curls that were in desperate need of combing or touching. Everything had happened so fast that I didn't have a chance to appreciate this work of art sharing the same car with me or the other way round. "This marriage is to be kept discrete for now, we would make an official announcement with a church wedding but for now, discrete is the word". I bobbed my head up and down like a zombie trying not to think of the kiss we had shared after saying our marriage vows. How soft his lips had brushed mine softly, delicately, like butterfly wings just long enough that I could inhale his breath and feel the warmth of his skin. I blushed, as I tried to push the lustful thoughts from my head. "When we get back to New York, we would work out other important details," he said again handing my phone back to me as he leaned into his seat again. I simply nodded and leaned my head on the car rest and drifted into sleep. *** I opened my eyes as I looked around trying to take stock of my surrounding. This didn't look like my apartment in New york. There was soft music playing in the background. Its soft alluring sound made me want to go back to sleep. There was a comfy blanket on my body that looked really expensive. Did I buy this? I wondered because the last time I checked my account balance it could only afford pizza without toppings. My eyes wandered to the ceiling as I tried to recall what day was this as I tried to brush my hair from my eyes. The diamond ring caught my eyes and then I remembered. I sat up rubbing my eyes wondering where my husband was. "You might want to fasten your seat belt, we're landing in 5 minutes" His voice spoke from across the room. Wait, this wasn't a room, we were on a Plane, but where were the other passengers? I wondered again fastening my seat belt and hoping there wasn't a trail of saliva around my mouth. "How long have I been asleep?" My first words to my husband since we got married. "An hour or less" he didn't look up from the book he was reading. I wanted to ask him so many questions and surprisingly what his name is. "Where are the other passengers?" I asked again, hoping to get his attention. He raised his face and looked towards my direction. I smiled my victory. "What did you say?" he asked again, book forgotten plus an amused look on his face. "Where are the other passengers"? I repeated. He threw his head back and let out a hearty laugh, It was the most beautiful sound I have ever heard. "It appears we have a lot to work on Mrs Carter" his eyes were glinting with pleasure as he smiled at me. Yes, his name is Sebastian Carter, I remembered the priest saying it. "This is one of my private planes, ma'am". I searched his face for traces of jokes, surely he was trying to pull my leg. I know he was rich, but not all rich people own private planes. What didn't I know about my husband?.
