The Siren's Vampire Soulmate

                                                                                         PAST: ZAPPHIRE:  I remember walking out of my room in the inn I was staying at, it was 1956. As I was walking towards the exit of the inn, this beautiful intoxicating smell fills my nose. It smelled like, the woods after it rains, and the rainbow would come out. I had turned around quickly on my heels and started towards the intoxicating smell... the smell of my soulmate. I waited for her or him, for over 100 years. Suddenly I got nervous, and started looking at the floor as I was walking. What if he doesn't like me? What if she's a girl, and she's not into women? What if he or she thought I wasn't good enough? Not what they pictured? Not what they wanted? Would they reject me? Goddess, I promised myself I wouldn't be freaking out when I found my soulmate, and here I am freaking out. "Oof!" I started falling but before I did, strong arms wrapped themselves around me. "Are  you alright miss?" Said a deep voice. I looked up and was met with the most beautiful ice blue eyes. It was ironic how something that was so cold in color, warmed my heart. I felt my body heat up from the sparks, his hands were giving me. I took in a deep breath and his scent over whelmed me again. He's human.. how? I'm a pure blood siren, how is this possible? I've heard of interspecies being soulmates, but I've only heard of it really happening with witches, vampires and werewolves but never have I heard of it with sirens. I'm a pure blood, I'm not sure how this happened. "I'm sorry miss, are you okay?" I shook my head trying too get out of my thoughts, and I reluctantly stepped out of my soulmates arm. Missing the way his arms sent sparks all over my body. I think I also saw disappointment in his eyes as well. The soulmate bond even has this kind of affect on humans? Interesting. "I'm sorry, I was just wondering around. I didn't mean to bump into you." He smiled at me, and I melted into a puddle. How did I get blessed with such a beautiful soulmate? He had sandy blonde hair, those beautiful piercing ice blue eyes, long thick lashes, tan skin, a sharp jaw line, and a gorgeous muscular body. Who cares if he is human? We can make this work, I'll just turn him into a siren, it will be just fine. "I've been actually wanting too introduce myself since I saw you checking in yesterday.  I'm Matthew Blake, my father owns this inn." I blushed. How did I not notice him yesterday? "I'm Zapphire Smith, it's a pleasure too meet you sir." Of course that's not really my true last name, I have only used that last name for my mission, but I can tell him all about that later. I saw a spark light up in his eyes and I smiled. "Zapphire..." He said, almost like testing it out. I loved the way my name sounded coming out of his mouth. "What a beautiful, unique name."                                                                                             PRESENT:  I felt my heart swell with love, and I sighed. That's all I have left is the memories. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying my best not to cry. "Zapphire, come on, it's time to wake up for the day." I heard Melody say, while lightly knocking on my door. I looked over at the clock. It was 7 am, and school started at 9:30 am. I sighed getting up and rubbing my eyes, hearing the door open. "I'm up Mel, I promise." I said while opening my eyes. Melody was wearing black dress pants that showed off her curves with a magenta blouse that complimented her rich dark skin tone. Her curls were styled in a messy "I woke up like this" look, her edges though were gelled down, her make up was also simple, showing off her big, gorgeous brown eyes. "I know Z, I just wanted too see you before I went too work." She replied while sitting on the edge of my bed. I sighed. "Remind me again why you're leaving me alone to go to my senior year of high school? You're feeding me to teenage sharks!" She laughed at me. "Z, before you turned me I was already in college. You on the other hand have only been home schooled. You need to get out and enjoy! Also, not that I'm complaining, but your dad only gave us enough money to get started. Someone has to pay the bills!" I looked away. I know she's right. I decided this. I'm just a worrier and I can't help it. It allows us to stay her longer if one of us pretended to be younger. "Look Z, I know you'll do great! Don't worry so much," Melody said getting up and headed towards the door. "Oh by the way. I have your blood downstairs, and remember we are pretending to be sisters. Our parents died in a car crash, and I have custody over you. Good luck at school." Melody finished, winking at me. "Yeah, yeah, thanks Mel!" I yelled as she was walking downstairs. I really do not know what I would do without that girl, she is my rock. I got up from my bed and headed towards the bathroom. Our house was simple, normal. A 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house. Melody insisted on giving me the master suite. She spoils me, she has always been big on status and siren's have a loyalty to their makers. I turned on the bath water waiting for it to get hot. Once it did I started removing my pajamas. Once I did I looked at myself in the mirror. I was just so average. Sometimes I wished I was a dark haired beauty like Melody. But here I am, pale, almost as white as snow, dark black hair that looked blue in some lighting, and dark blue eyes. I stepped back over to the tub, and turned off the water. I stepped in and hugged my legs. Shortly after they turned into my beautiful royal blue tail, I stretched out and let my head fall back into the water. Sirens tails also usually match their hair and their eyes. When I get wait, my tail appears, my hair also turns into the same color, and my eyes get to that brighter, piercing blue shade of royal blue. Being a siren, I drink the blood of vampires. We were created to destroy vampires, but now I guess that has changed. A few years ago we signed a peace treaty, but that doesn't mean we get along with them, I mean... we drink their blood. I thought of Matthew, the dream I had last night, I miss him. So much. I wish things didn't happen the way they did but what choice did I have? Drake is insane, and I have no idea what he is capable now anymore.
