Love didn't exist. At least not in my world. The emotion locked deep beneath a marred heart. The thorns of loss pulled tight until the once supple organ became taught and unrecognisable with the bitterness that flowed through my veins, tainting me black with the darkness that consumed my being. Depression, that's what they called it. A word used to describe those feeling depressed or saddened. A word overused. My heart was a shattered glass, held together by the bare incessant instinct to survive. I wasn't living. I was merely alive. There was no way out, trapped behind the broken facade of a smile, and the forever repeated phrase, "I'm fine." Lies.It was all lies. I was never fine.I was dying inside, drowning in the suffocating waves loneliness that crashed over my fragile body, desperately craving even the slightest bit of human attention. It was like a drug. The pain was a normality, it was my everyday.But the deep down hunger for love was my breakaway from all the abuse, my get away drug. And I was an addict, addicted. Addicted to the dream.The dream that one day, just maybe, I might be able to scrape together just enough money to leave this dead-end town. I would simply leave.Just disappear one day, leaving all this mess behind me.But for now, that was just a dream.One that would never come true, even in the foreseeable future. -But a dream none the less. But this wasn't a dream I was living in... It was a nightmare. Forever on a loop, each day being the same. I was trapped in the shackles of my own misery and despair. Chained to this hell. ***First chapter!I decided to post the first chapter so you guys have a bit more than a prologue xI have also changed her name from Vixen to Amora, because the name fits the story better.Hope you guys will enjoy this book as I have a good feeling about it! Also just to clear up the prologue was lyrics to a song, however I thought the lyrics fitted her past quite well as Amora also came from an abusive background.Anyways...Don't forget to vote and comment!-
