Prologue
The ceremony is the most important half hour of the entire wedding day. During this time one has the vow exchange ceremony, first kiss, the cheerful memorable exit, some wishes from the beloved people- and yeah, above all one gets hitched together for a life time.
But for Selena, no wishes as the same were left in her heart no more. Having her groom flee away she was now standing here in front of the priest at the altar in her wedding gown with Him, Zane north, whom she felt disgusting with always. She looked from the corner of her Grey eyes at the man who was not supposed to be her groom at all. The thought of him standing besides her as her better half made her feel puking.
Her trance vanished off with the voice of the priest as he began with the vow exchange ceremony. She gazed at his face last time and moved away her eyes to the priest.
" BRIDE and GROOM, as you stand here in the presence of God and these witnesses, I remind you, that love, loyalty and trust are the basis of a mature and fulfilling relationship. Today it's not only your body that is going to get tied in the knot of love, but also your souls "... Selena and Zane looked at each other listening to those words of the priest.
" Marriage is the purest and the deepest relationship in life and all the witnesses present shall witness you take the vows with commitment.
You have known each other for years, through the first glance of acquaintance to this moment of commitment.
At some moment, you decided to marry. "... They again shared an eye lock, they had encounters many times but never have their ever thought of getting married to each other but kill. She tried to pull away her hand which he was holding in his one tightly on the priest's order not wanting to take any risk because of her.
" From that moment of yes to this moment of yes, indeed, you have been making promises and agreements in an informal way. Bride and Groom, the vows that you are about to exchange serve as a verbal representation of the love you have promised to each other. Because it is not the words that you speak today which will unite you together as one, but the inner sense of love and commitment that each of you feels within your soul. Today, you are going to be tied together, and we believe your togetherness lasts for infinity ".... Selena sighed softly as the vow exchange moment was approaching them while there was no emotion on his face. He stood there as if he didn't care. It can clearly be seen he was doing this out of acceptance.
" Now you shall say a few words that take you across a threshold of thicks and thins of life, and things will never quite be the same between you. It will be one as after this moment, every problem, every pain one of you experiences shall be experienced by the other as well. Because after taking these vows, you shall say to the world, GROOM is my husband, BRIDE is my wife.
"... Her heart began to thump loudly and her eyes watered, the time has come finally where she has to accept someone else as her life partner than the one for whom she has been dreaming of.
" Starting with you Mr. Zane North"... He confidently looked up at the priest. "Do you accept Selena Lorenson as your wife and your companion for life?"
Zane gave her a side glance stating. "Yes, I take Selena Lorenson as my legally wedded wife".... The witnesses clapped and cheered at his acceptance.
Now turning to the bride the priest asked her the same, "Miss Selena Lorenson, Do you accept Zane North, your groom as your husband?"... The people behind them started to murmur and whisper when no answer from her side came.
She was staring down at the floor, Zane tried to make her look up when the priest asked again. " Miss lorenson, do you accept Zane North as your husband? "... She didn't answer this time also, experiencing him squeeze her hand. Selena glared at him with teary eyes.
"I'm asking you for the last time Miss lorenson, now do you accept Zane North as your husband?"... The whispers in the back died down as she replied finally.
"Yes, I do"... While Zane sighed in relief and the priest smiled at him amidst the applause in the back.
" Now, I counsel you, as husband and wife, to always give respect to one another even when you disagree or fight, to bear with each other’s weaknesses and discomfort, to comfort each other in times of trouble or sorrow and stand as strength, to work with generous hearts and tender feelings to provide for the material needs of each other and the household problems, and lastly to help one another experience spiritual, mental, emotional and physical comfort throughout the life ".... Zane forced a smile but soon it vanished.
"NOW YOU MAY KISS THE BRIDE!"... Selena's eyes widened to the size as that of a saucer seeing him remove her net veil from her face decreasing the gap between their lips whilst holding her firmly by the waist.
Will he really kiss her, NOOO!!!
