[Scene one] The nightmare.
In a brighten afternoon with a lonely land filled with bushes and no other living things creeping or flying around as a teenage boy runs across the land of bushes appearing a little slim, tall and brownish dark in complexion. This boy kept running while panting in furiousness and suddenly stops in action. VICTOR: You won’t get away this time! (Yells so loudly as another image of Victor turns to look at him while appearing the same like Victor but having an appearance of reddish-black eyes, wearing a tightened black singlet and a crazy jean designed with some tiny chains tied around the waist belt as he brought up a broad smile at his twin appearance) DARK VICTOR: I have been waiting for you, victor (Viewing Victor in recurring fury) We have been doing this for so long. And yet, you haven’t won. You just need to accept the fact that you will always remain a loser even though you still continue like this. VICTOR: No. I am not a loser! DARK VICTOR: Then, come face me… Once again! VICTOR: (Cracks his fists as he rushed to his dark side) You end today! (Dark victor charging along with victor as they both jump at each other preparing a powerful blow on the faces) Light fades as victor awakes from his bed in the early morning after the terrible nightmare. Victor’s beautiful room has a lot of unimaginable toys, a telescope and a small passage leading to his dressing room overwhelming with lots of stylish leathers of shoes and other fashions of clothes. While viewing victor sitting on his bed as he feels worried and distressed due to the dreadful dreams he had lately in the night. At the living room, Victor’s mum prepares her black coloured leather-made handbag designed with some touches of flashy pearls and gold while setting off to her office as she sighted Victor coming down from the stair steps with his school uniform worn while packing his school bag. VICTOR’S MUM: Oh victor. I was about to call you. (Packs her handbag to her shoulders) Are you ready for school or do you want to take your breakfast? VICTOR: No, mum. Let’s move already. It’s running late. VICTOR’S MUM: (Placing her cooling tender palms on Victor’s cheek) If there is anything you ever need, I’ll be there for you like always. VICTOR: (Smiles faintly) Am fine, mum. (Maintains his bag) Thanks. Victor and his mum came out from their mansion home decorated with flowers and concrete sculptures with a mini garden located in the compound and three packed vehicles beside the garden. They both boarded into a latest model black jeep Land Rover owned by victor’s mum. The Land Rover drives off from the high ways and stops at Victor’s school gate after some minutes. VICTOR’S MUM: (Looking at victor coming down from the jeep) Victor. (Victor turns to his mother’s call) I will always love you no matter what happens. Always remember that, son. VICTOR: Thanks mum. I appreciate that a lot. VICTOR’S MUM: (Opens her handbag and brings out an android phone as she hands it over to victor) Take this. VICTOR: (Amazed) Why? What for? VICTOR’S MUM: You might need anything while you’re still in school. So, that is why I’m giving this to call me for whatever things you need or want (changes expression) Besides, it’s your phone. Why are you acting like you don’t need it anymore? VICTOR: Mum. I know it’s mine but… in my school, phones aren’t allowed… VICTOR’S MUM: I spoke to your principal at your first resumption and he told me you are permitted to use the phone at when due. Which is…, for emergency purposes. (Stretched her hand further while holding the phone) Now, take it. VICTOR: (Sighs) Alright. (Takes the phone) I hope you’ll tell the principal that I could also play games with it… (Putting the phone to his bag pack)… for emergency purposes. (Smiles) VICTOR’S MUM: (Laughs) No, no, Victor. Don’t even try. VICTOR: Goodbye mum. VICTOR’S MUM: Goodbye sweetie. After the bid of goodbyes, victor walks straight to his school compound while after their morning assembly and the students walking to their various classes. Victor went for his Art departmental class after the bell for the school lesson period and settle for the lecture along with his mates as he sat at the last seat after three benches while staring so closely at the art teacher taking his subject. Victor seats so calmly and begins to meditate on his horrible past events in his life VICTOR: ---…“ For so long in my life, I have always felt bonded and trapped. After so many ways I have always tried to clear my emotions and mindsets, the journey of my life have never been useful to me… (Sighs) I thought being a child and not having any worries defines us but why do I feel I am lacking something… why do I feel none of my mother’s love or support and provisions to satisfying my feelings and happiness are likely falling into an unknown void. Why?...---” ( As Victor continues to think in depression, his teacher suddenly stops his lectures and stares at him in surprise along with the other art students at the front to the last sits ) TEACHER: (Staring seriously at victor) I can see there is an absent mind in my class. (Victor still remaining lost in his meditation as the students begins to make fun of him while victor’s friend; Kolade who is quite taller than Victor with a brown skinned complexion and a stylish hair cut. Kolade enjoys keeping his friend’s company by being a tough talkative. While sitting at the same bench with Victor, Kolade begins to hit Victor’s leg using his lap but Victor still remains lost. The student’s laughter becomes louder as it makes the teacher furious against Victor’s absence mind in his class) Victor! (Yell at Victor as he immediately stands up with fright) VICTOR: Ye… Yes sir! KOLADE: (Looking down) This boy eh… (Victor looks around and noticed he had been made fun at after a long meditation) TEACHER: Now, tell me Victor. What did I just say a minute ago? (Victor became stranded by his teacher’s question as he glanced at Kolade’s finger pointing at the last topic of the literary genre in his literature textbook) Victor?! (Calls at his attention as he stands still) VICTOR: Ye… Yes sir. TEACHER: I ask you. What was the last word or sentences I made… a minute ago? LARA: (A short skinny girl with a tiny voice of offensive words and also one of the most notorious student in the school and a terrible hater to Victor and any one he mingles with. While sitting at the front seat, Lara adds in) Maybe he didn’t know, teacher. He might be thinking of his lost child in his father’s house somewhere. (Everyone burst into laughter after Lola’s meaningless joke as Victor becomes ire at Lara with a cold eyes) TEACHER: Quiet, class! (Everyone keeps shut) Victor? VICTOR: (Changes expression) A minute ago… you… you talked about the last topic of the literary genre called… the Alliteration… (Kolade relieved) TEACHER: Good. Now…, VICTOR: The alliteration… (Victor adds in as everyone in class stares at him with surprise) The alliteration is the repetition of initial identical consonant sounds of successive words in a line of a text. For instance…,”The fair breeze blew the white foam flew”… Such sentences could also be called a Coleridge line… If it is best to be refer to in that way. TEACHER: (Looking amazed in silence) I didn’t… I thought I said that earlier, right? KOLADE: No, sir! (Yells from the back seat) You didn’t say all what Victor had newly taught us. TEACHER: Oh. Well then…, (Gesturing in surrender) That is an amazing definition Victor. You may have your seat. VICTOR: Thank you sir. (Sits on his bench while smiling at Kolade as he winked at him) LARA: (Stands up from her bench) But teacher. I know another example of alliteration. TEACHER: Oh, really? Like what then? LARA: (Turns to Victor) Dumb dump himself on top of the floor full of flour. VICTOR: (Staring at Lara with a shaky hand of impulsive anger) She is using that crazy sentence against me. (Speaking in silence) KOLADE: (Holds victor’s shoulder) Cool down bro. She is just whining as usual. TEACHER: Wow. I see you all have been learning quit well, these days. Good example, Lara. You may have your seat now. LARA: (Sits back while smiling broadly) Thank you sir. After the commencement of the art class and other changes of lessons, the school had their break as Victor seats on the school dinning while Kolade joins in with his meal in a big cooler. KOLADE: I thought you would be alone as always. (Opens his cooler as he begins to eat his readymade rice, beans and egg) VICTOR: I was about to. Until you came. KOLADE: Well, here I am now. (Spreading his arms) VICTOR: Thanks for saving me back there. KOLADE: Pft. What are friends for? (Speaking with his food filled in his mouth) VICTOR: Yeah. Friends… How I just wish that could fully helped a lot. (Depressed) KOLADE: Hey. (Holds Victor’s shoulder) What have been bothering you these days? Since I have known you and be your friend, I always feel you have been bothered by something. Tell me so we can cheer up with something fun and sweet. (Shifting closer to Victor) And when I mean sweet, I meant…, VICTOR: Girls? (Adds in) KOLADE: No! How could you...? VICTOR: I thought that was what you were about to say? KOLADE: (Looking elsewhere) Hmm…well…That was what come into my mind…But. If you want to see it as the truth, so be it. (Takes two full spoons of his rice and mixed beans while pointing the spoon at Victor’s face) Feel this as my elderly advice. VICTOR: Oh, you mean the spoon? (Laughed along with Kolade) You’re funny. In the dining hall, Lola and her friends approached to victor and Kolade as she watches them in an irritating manner. LOLA: Look at them. (Pointing her fingers at the boys) Birds of the same feathers. Shameless as an hairless lion. (Lola and the other girls laughed as they passed by with their teasing attitude) KOLADE: What is it lola?! What have been biting you since I started knowing you wearing this… (Pointing his fingers at Lola’s flared skirt) Rapper you called skirt. (Victor burst into a second laughter as it attracts Lola’s immersive hatred towards him and not Kolade’s joke of exaggerations) LOLA: Yey. Achievement, Kolade. (Glancing at Victor) You have just made the fool laugh. (Lola walks away as Victor stares so angrily at her due to the unacceptable insult, blasted to his hears) KOLADE: (Laughing in madness) Yaaahy! E pain her! (stops the laughter as he looked at Victor’s furious glances at Lola. While Kolade tries on calling his attention) Victor. (Hissed) Don’t mind that rapper girl jare. She is nothing different to a cockroach trying to speak to a man…You get it don’t you? (Victor still remains unconcern to Kolade’s joke) Victor? Victor. (Viewing Victor’s eyes with rage as he keeps on staring at Lola afar while Kolade tries to call in to his attention by tapping his shoulder. Immediately, Victor changes his fury mode of expression and faces Kolade like as if nothing happened) VICTOR: You were calling me? KOLADE: (Startled) Jeez! VICTOR: What? (Asked in anxiety) KOLADE: You almost scare the living out of me with the way you have been behaving these days even until now. VICTOR: And…how have I been behaving? KOLADE: Well…, you know, like a Zombie who is about to jump in to a fresh human’s brain. (Demonstrating a Zombie character) Or, a giant tiger with an absolute instinct of hunting its prey…Or maybe a lion; I see those beasts as the greatest when it comes to territorial ownership and hunting instincts…they are definitely better than tiger… (Victor getting tired of Kolade’s insignificant explanations as he still continues)…Or ehmm…like an hunter who… (Victor couldn’t stand his irrelevant words as he rose from his dinning seat) VICTOR: I’m heading to class. KOLADE: Hey, wait. The break isn’t over yet. VICTOR: That is why I need to rest my mind for a little longer. Goodluck. (Victor left the dinning as Kolade stares at him in surprise and continues his food)
