Chapter One
Robin P.O.V "I'm not f*****g going!" I growl out as I flopped down on my couch and relaxed. "Yes you are!" Yelled my sister, Wendy. "I'm not. Forget it. I don't do childish parties." I snapped at her and covered my face and ears with a couch pillow. Wendy was in her second year in college and trying to get me to go to a frat party. I was 27 and done with school. I worked from home and I liked it that way; less people to get on my nerves. "Come on! Come spend time with your sis and breakout of your antisocial bubble." Wendy pleaded as she gave me the puppy face with very sad eyes. I rolled my eyes, "I'm fine in my bubble. My bubble keeps s**t from happening. Bad s**t happens when people leave their bubble. I'll stay in mines." I grumbled as I set back up. "Robin!" She whined and stumped her feet. "Wendy." I stated plainly. She frowned and looked dejected for a minute before she perked up and smirked at me. Placing her hands on her hips and said, "Come with me and I'll give you the money for the new computer with the high tech software." I narrowed my eyes at her, "It's 4000$." There was no way she would be able to afford that. She rolled her eyes, "And we both know dad will give me anything if I ask." Her dad, my stepdad, spoiled Wendy with any and everything she wanted. If money could buy it then her dad would get it for her. It wasn't so much the same for me seeing as I wasn't his child. He helped put me through college but that's about it and we're not gonna even start with my mom. I huffed, "No take backs." She squealed, "Yay! No take backs! Now go get ready!" She practical burst with joy as she through her arms around my neck and squeezed me. Her happiness was borderline annoying to me. "I'm already dress." I deadpan as I stand up and pose to show what I was wearing. Send let out a groan, "You cannot wear faded sweatpants and a hoodie! It's like social suicide when your going to a party like this!" I raised an eye brow, "I don't have a social life to kill. Not to mention I'm not even in the college. Plus I'm comfortable." She tossed her hands in the air, "But you're going with me! You wear that and my social life is over. Gone. Disappears. Fades. Leaves. Dies. Dead!" She exclaimed with passion. I shook my head, "Fine, drama queen. I'll change and be back in five." I turned away from her and started upstairs towards my bedroom to change. "Pick something as hot as me!" She tells at me as I travel upstairs to my room, making me roll my eyes. I reach my bedroom and shut the door behind me, blocking out Wendy's noise making downstairs. I go straight to my closet and as I stood there looking at all my clothes I realized that 90% of my clothing was sweats and tee's. Seeing as I worked from home and only left to workout and go run errands for the house, so fancy and dressy clothes weren't my main goal. Comfort was what matter to me the most but I knew that wouldn't matter to Wendy and her social statues. I shifted through all the clothes until I got to the very back. I found three pair of jeans. One ripped, one faded, and one form fitting. I grabbed the faded ones because they seemed the looses and didn't look that bad. I slipped on the jeans and put on some black combat boots. I changed my hoodie into a regular black shirt and grabbed a leather jacket. I transferred my stuff from my hoodie to my jacket and slipped the jacket on. I cleaned up the little bit of the mess I made and then headed downstairs to meet with Wendy. I stepped into the living room to see Wendy propped up on the couch and feet on the coffee table, typing away on her phone at rapid speed with the TV playing a commercial. I cleared my throat to catch her attention,"We're leaving now or I change back and lay down and won't move." She shot up and scanned me over before smiling and cheering, "Nice. Let's go partaaa!" I looked the door behind me and set the alarm before I allowed Wendy to drag me towards the car. She ended up directing me to the passenger side of her car. I glared at her as I entered the car because I would rather drive myself there. Wendy was known to be a bit of a wild driver and unsafe. Although I might not end up at the party if I took myself. I'd probably end up right back home in my house away from everyone. "Buckle up! Mamma about to break some laws!" Wendy cheers as she whips out the drive way and takes off down the street with a happy grin that almost looked crazed. I just held on to the roof handle, tightly, as she drove hoping that she wouldn't crash and take both of our lives. I couldn't die because I was convinced to go to some stupid party. That would be mortifying. Needless to say we reached the frat house pretty quickly with her driving. By the looks of all the cars and people just gathered out front I would say that the party was in full motion now. There were people outside of the house with drinks and they were dancing, talking, and some nearly f*****g just with clothes on. It was off-putting to say the least. "What time did this start?" I glanced at Wendy as we both climbed out the car. "At about 8 so it's been a full two hours now. That means everything is very hyped!" She squealed at the end with a smile. She looped her arm with mines and dragged me, "First thing first we need drinks!" She shouted as we entered the house, so she could be heard over the loud music and talking of the other people floating around at the party. The air reeked of sweat, alcohol, drugs, and s*x. To sum it up, it was a putrid smell that only reckless people would create. It burned my nose to have to inhale the polluted air and made my nauseous seeing some of the things the teens were doing. Wendy shoved people aside to make it to the kitchen and get to the drinks. She managed to get us there in five minutes and quickly snatched up a two red cups. "Okay! Dark or light!?" She asked me over the music. I shrugged, "I don't know the difference so surprise me." I also didn't know exactly what she was talking about but I knew it was about the drinks. She smirked at me, "Will do buddy." As she made our drinks I looked around the kitchen and stared at a couple practically f*****g against the fridge. The girl literally had her dressed hiked up, panties pushed to the side, as the other girl pinned her to the fridge and fingered her. It was repulsive. The way they were touching and moaning. It was madness. I'd never understand how people craved the touch of another. "Here!" I turned and collected the red cup from Wendy. She smiled innocently and sipped on hers. I put the cup to my lip and just took a huge chug. I winched at how strong it was and the burning sensation that went down my throat. My eyes watered a little bit and I had hit my chest to help my coughing that came once I swallowed. I looked at Wendy, "What is this!? Bleach!?" Wendy laughed, "Nope! Just my concoction! One cup is all you need to loosen up!" I glared at her but didn't reply because before I could there were three girls rushing towards her side They came gushing and talking about one thing after another. It was like they were talking 80 miles per minutes. Then before I know it Wendy and her friends up and disappear, leaving me alone in the kitchen. I huffed out a breath and traveled out of the kitchen. I shoved people out of the way that wouldn't move as I tried to find a quiet place to relax and avoid people. I managed to reach the back, outside of the frat house, and it was less loud out there. There was only like five people wondering around back here and you couldn't hear the loud music. It was just like a loud hum back here. I took a seat at one of the patio tables and took little sips of my drink. I looked up at the night sky and stared at the stars as I thought of random things. I was honestly bored and ready to leave, and I've only been here less then an hour. That says something. Plus I was alone and if I wanted to be alone I could have stayed at home. "Beautiful, right?" I looked down from the sky and stared at a guy who was now sitting in the seat across from me. He was smiling up to the sky with a lazy smile. His presence honestly irritated me a bit because I didn't feel like being social. "They're just stars." I flatly said and then took a gulp of my drink as the guy continued t stare at the sky. He laughed and shook his head, "Not just stars. They're constellations, wishes, directions, pictures, and some might one day be a sun." I could hear the passion in his voice as he glanced at the sky. He looked truly at peace with just looking at a bunch of stars and honestly the way he said it made me think a bit about space. "Maybe. I don't know." I shrugged and chugged the rest of my drink before setting the cup on the table. I grimaced at the taste of the drink before it settled in my stomach with a warm feeling. He looked at me and smiled, "You new? Haven't seen you around before." Shook my head, "No. Just came with my sister who goes here. I graduated from college already." He leaned on the table in interest,"Hold old are you then?" "27." His eyes widened, "Wow...You look the same age as me." I raised an eye brow, "Which is?" "23." He flashed another lazy smile. "Young and dumb." I muttered to myself but of course he heard me. He let out a loud laugh, "Most people around my age are but me- I'm young and adventurous." He claimed with a proud smile. "Hmm....so you say." I hummed. Another laugh, "You're cynical....what you name?" "Robin and I just see the truth." I sighed as I slouched in my chair. I felt a nice buzz going through my body and my vision was a bit blurry but not bad. "I'm Samuel and I say you're cynical." He says as he watches me relax. "I just wanna get away from all these people. Their bad life decisions are floating in the air and I don't like the smell of it." I groaned out as I felt so relax. I would kill Wendy later, now was chill time. "Wanna crash here?" Samuel offered. "f**k no!" I hissed standing up. I swayed a bit but was fine and was able to regain some balance. "I'm going home. I walk there, don't feel like findin' Wendy." Samuel chuckled and stood up to grab my arm, "You're not walking home, you could barely hold your own. I'll drive you." "You can't drink and drive, f*****g dumbass." I snapped at him and snatched my arm away from him "I don't drink." He stated as he lead me to what I assumed was his car. He placed me in the seat, buckled me up, and did the same before he started driving. "Address?" He glanced over at me after we had been driving for awhile I glared at him, "Why would I tell you? You could come back and then end up disturbing my peace." "Do you not wanna go home?" He mused as he clicked his tongue. "3267 Archer St." I sighed and zoned out until we reached my place. When the car was parked I pushed open the door and tried to get up but was yanked down. "Ugh! f*****g seat belt!" I growled as I glared down at the strap across my chest. Samuel came over to help me out the car, "Come on I'll get you inside and on the couch." He lead me up to the door, took my keys, and unlocked it. He pushed open the door and guided me inside. I stumbled towards the living room, not falling thanks to Samuel. "My bubble." I hissed in pleasure as I buried myself in the couch. I heard a laugh, "Be safe, Robin. Night." "By star freak!" I yelled out with a laugh before letting my body completely relax on the couch. "I'll show you the beauty in the skies and space someday," Was the last thing I heard before my front door war shut. Then I was out like a light.
