The Forgotten Twin

.....Third person POV........ They were born in a set of two, Ashlyn and Alexa. The twins of Moon lake pack, the fraternal twins who look nothing alike, yet behave hauntingly similar. Alexa, a little brunette with big blue eyes who takes after her mommy, her skin a light tan, making her look dark compared to the rest of her lighter skinned family. Ashlyn, a small raven haired beauty with grey orbs for eyes who looks more like daddy, her face was more triangular, while Alexa's was heart shaped. Even at their young age of 14 Ashlyn had prominent cheek bones while Alexa, still looked young and innocent. They shared a straight nose and down-turned lips, Alexa had straight eyebrows while Ashlyn's were arched. Everyone knew both of them would grow up to be the most beautiful she-wolves to ever be conceived in Moon lake. Both of them were happy and care-free, loved equally by their parents, that is until they turned 15. Now lets go to Ashlyn's POV to really see how that day turned into a nightmare for a once happy pup. ..........Ashlyn POV................ It was the middle of the morning, around 9:30 when my limbs began to tingle and my stomach knotted up. I let myself smile and I ran to the back yard as fast as I could, I knew what was happening and I couldn't wait to meet my wolf, to see how dazzling she was. The tingling stopped and was replaced by a white hot burn, that brought me to my knees. I screamed as the first of my bones snapped in multiple spots, I felt my dad sitting by my head as I grew fur and a muzzle. When I was done I felt more pain as Alexa began to shift, I stood up on all four legs and looked at my father who gently pet my head, I yipped and ran around looking for Alexa. I found a white ball of fur instead, my mother was by her side gasping down at her daughter. I walked over and sniffed her and bumped her body with my snout. "Ashlyn! Do not touch your sister! She just shifted for the first time, she is in pain." My mother screeched, while lightly slapping my nose. I growled and rubbed my nose on the inside of my legs. I watched as our pack members came running to have a look at us. I preened myself, but noticed all eyes were on Alexa who finally stood on her feet. Her coat was white as freshly fallen snow, her eyes were a dark brown, her nose was pink instead of a normal black. I looked around at our pack, who was looking at my sister as if she was the most wondrous being in the world. "A white wolf!" Our Alpha cried walking up to us. "Which twin is it?" "Alexa." My father said proudly walking up. "Ashlyn really isn't anything special." I was taken aback by my fathers words and whimpered slightly, causing him took look at me. "Go for a run, you don't need your sister." I took off and ran to a waterfall near the border of the pack, I went to the cave behind it and looked at the mirror our pack has set up for first time shifters. I didn't see what the fuss with Alexa was about when I was much more beautiful. I was so shiny and grey I almost looked silver, my eyes looked like two small moons and my nose was a pitch black, as is a normal wolfs. I looked at my whole body and noticed the shape of a crescent moon, where my human wrist would be. It was black with a white outline making it stand out against my silvery grey fur.  Alexa's wolf has nothing on mine, we should be getting the special attention. (I agree with you Ashlyn, we are much more stunning than she.) I felt my chest rumble with a purr at the words of my wolf. (I am Crescent, your other half.) Nice to finally meet you Crescent, you obviously know me, do you know why being a white wolf is all that, seriously, I mean her coat has no pigment, she looks dull. (It is said that if an Alpha has a white wolf by his side, he will be the most powerful and unstoppable Alpha around.) So everyone is just going to use her? (No, the only Alpha that can harness the full strength of having a white wolf is the mate of the said wolf.) Oh. Well we still have three years before we can recognize our mates. What do you say we go home and see if everyone is ready to recognize our beauty. (Lets!) We left the cave and ran home, we jumped the fence to the back yard effortlessly to see people still praising Alexa's wolf. I yipped at her and she turned to me, she looked at me then rolled her wolf eyes and turned away. I growled and yipped again, this time my father snarled at me. "Ashlyn enough. Alexa has been busy while you have been gallivanting around." I huffed and shifted back to human form painfully. When I was done I layed on the ground for a while before seeing my parents crowding around a shifting Alexa. "I don't see what the huff is about." I said as I stomped into the house. I went into the bathroom and turned the shower on before climbing in and washing the dirt away. I saw what looked like a tattoo on my wrist, it was a black crescent moon with a white outline. I smiled at it before I got out of the shower and began drying off. My mother walked in and sighed at me before she turned on the water and filled the tub for a bath.  "Your sister needs a bath to relax her sore muscles Ashlyn, I hope you don't plan on being in here for long." She sighed at me. "A run would help with that, I'm not sore at all." I said while drying my black hair. "Or she could take a relaxing bath." My mother sneered as she left the bathroom. I rolled my eyes and looked into the mirror. I noticed that I seemed to have grown, before I was a small 5 ft 3, now I looked 5 ft 4 and 1/2. I left the bathroom in a towel to see my father carrying Alexa up the stairs and into the bathroom. I went into our shared room and got dressed before brushing my snarled black shoulder length hair. When I was done I went to the kitchen to see my mom cooking dinner. "Mom i need new clothes, I'm too big for the ones I have now."  "You can go with Alexa tomorrow, just don't buy anything too pricey." She said not looking up from dinner.I nodded and went to the kitchen table and did my homework for school for Monday. I was almost done with science when Alexa came down the stairs and walked over to our mother. "Mom, when am I going shopping tomorrow?" Our mom turned to her with a bright smile and kissed her forehead, before answering. "I would say you two should leave at around 9." "Who is going with me? I wanted to go alone." My sister growled. "That would be me. I need new clothes." I said looking into her blue eyes. She rolled them and sighed. "Of course you do, I bet you only want to be near me because of my wolf." I snarled and stood. "I grew, Alexa, I don't give a damn about your wolf!" She took a step back and my mother snarled at me before comforting my now crying sister. "I don't think you should go shopping with my daughter, perhaps you can go Monday after school." "I would rather have clothes that fit at school rather than looking like a slut, or do you not care about your first born?" I asked getting angry at her words. My mother looked at me and blinked a few times before she sighed and nodded at me. "Fine, but don't upset your sister, she doesn't need the stress." I rolled my eyes and sat back down finishing my homework. When I was done I put it all away and ran my stuff upstairs and hid it. With the way she was acting I wouldn't be surprised if Alexa took my stuff. I went back down to the dining room to see my family eating without me. I walked over to my seat and pushed Alexa's feet off making her whimper. I was shot a glare by my father who's mouth was full of food. "Next time ask nicely." He scolded. "Next time her feet wont be in my way." I replied snarkily before taking a bite of chicken. I had never talked back to my parents, then again I never felt as shitty as they were making me fell right now.  "It is rude to talk to people like that sis." Alexa sighed. "It's rude to eat without everyone at the table, but you seem fine with that." I said rolling my eyes. "Stop being such a pain!" My mother growled. I looked at her in disbelief.  "I see how it is now. I lost my appetite, enjoy your dinner." I growled as I stood and left the table. I went to the back yard and shifted painfully for the second time before hopping the fence and running up to a group of wolves, who were training. I layed down and watched them before a large brown one noticed me. (BW: Who are you wolf?) (Ashlyn: Ashlyn, I'm just watching you guys train.) (BW: I'm Ed, the first warrior. You look like you could use some training, join us.) (Ashlyn: Okay) I stood and walked to group of large wolves and saw a tan wolf my size watching me. Ed had us spar so he could see who I could train with. I surprisingly defeated the small tan wolf on instinct alone. I sparred two more wolves before Ed had me rest. I was there for a long time watching and learning how the proper warriors trained. The group began to disperse, Ed walked up to me and bumped his head on mine. (Ed: I want you in my training classes Mon, Wed, and Friday at 4:00PM and Saturday nights, 20 minutes earlier than you showed up today.)  (Ashlyn: I'll be there, thank you.) (Ed: You have the natural talent of a great warrior. Just know Saturdays are the only days we train in wolf form, the rest you will be in human form. Be ready.) (Ashlyn: I will be.) I responded, Ed walked away and I headed home. I jumped the fence and shifted, back to human form. I was shaking by the end, I stood and walked in the living room to see it was dark. I went to my shared room with Alexa to see her rummaging through my side of the room. "Looking for my homework?" I asked startling her. "You should knock, I could have been indecent." She sneered at me. "Or you could not trash my side of the room and do your own work." I said as I began re-organizing my desk. She huffed and sat her bed with her arms crossed, her glared followed me as I picked up her mess. "Well, are you gonna tell me where it is? I have had a long day and I don't want to have to do it after shopping." She asked rudely. I finished cleaning my side of the room and pulled on my pajamas while she huffed at me. "Oh that wasn't a joke. Well lets see. No, do it yourself." I said as I crawled into bed and sighed. I heard her huff before turning off her light and going to bed. That night I dreamed of a fire, it was burning a woman with white hair and purple eyes at the stake, her wrist had the same crescent shape on it as mine did. The fire spread and I felt my own body go up in flames. I woke up on the floor covered in sweat and looked at my body which was perfectly fine, there were no burn marks on me at all. I sighed and crawled back into bed before passing out in exhaustion.
