**It felt like my body was becoming alive for the first time. Electricity travelled down my body while I became hungrier for more, breaking the kiss into smaller, quicker kisses.

I gasped his name while he gripped me tighter, not wanting the kisses to stop.

"Sophia, you're going to drive me crazy if you cling onto me like that." He groaned seductively as his kisses became needier and more alluring.**

----

*I felt my body get slammed into the ground with such force it knocked the wind out of me. I gasped for air while I was forcefully turned around and was met by a pair of menacing red eyes.

"Found you. Our game of hide and seek is over now, little mouse."*

Dreams
***Dedicated to Christine, Brandy, and Beth.  They have been with me and Evermoon since the beginning and have been the constant drive that I needed to continue my passion for writing.  I love you, ladies!*** ----Dreams---- "Keep running!" A woman's voice cried as branches, vines, and sharp leaves slapped and cut along my bare skin.  Tears threatened to fall but I couldn't will myself to look back.  I felt my heart breaking and the deep desire to not stop running or look back for fear of what I would see. The woman's voice grew fainter and my ears strained to try to make out her voice.  My legs grew weaker as the smell of fresh blood entered my nostrils.  Quickly looking down, I saw my body was covered in cuts.  Suddenly, I felt my body hurl forward in that moment of distraction. Everything went black.  Gasping, my eyes flew open and tears threatened my eyes.  My vision blurred before the familiar sights of my bedroom slowly came into focus.  A breeze entered the room making me notice the beady sweat that slid down my forehead. "A nightmare…"  I mumbled to myself, slowly forcing myself to sit up.  Extending my arms to stretch, my body let out a shiver as I couldn’t get over the fear and desperation that I felt in my dream. "I hate these nightmares, why do they keep coming?"  I softly pouted as I slowly dragged myself out of bed.  Getting ready in the mornings was always the same: bathe, brush hair, get dressed, eat some fruit before leaving to go to town for work.  It seemed like such a rut; a bland and drab routine.   As I completed my daily ritual, a sigh escaped my lips.  The nightmare had felt so real and continued to plague my thoughts.  Shaking my head to try to clear it, I left my little home to go into town or I would be late for work. Upon entering town, the sounds of lively and bustling streets touched my ears as I tilted my head to the side curiously.   "That's weird.  It normally isn't this active yet?"  I mumbled with a twinge of caution in my voice. I slowly crept forward to explore.  The herbs I had picked yesterday from my garden to use at the restaurant rustled softly in my pouch as I made my way to the square.   "Sophia! Over here!"  A gentle voice called as I perked up to notice a familiar woman calling my name. The woman was one of my first friends and one I called my sister.  She and her mother had found me abandoned and afraid when I was five years old.  I couldn’t remember anything from before they had taken me in.  I just remember the warmth of having a home with a mother and a sister that loved me dearly.  She was a year older than me and took the big sister role seriously.  She always seemed to be a doting elder sister to me and chased away the numerous men that tried to flirt with me at our restaurant.  Truthfully, it always irritated me as she had boyfriends constantly but I wasn’t allowed to have one. Her auburn hair always held a mountain of curls as her face was peppered with freckles along her nose and cheek bones.  Her frame was slender but she always wore clothing that wouldn't show her figure.  Today, she wore a loose fitting maxi teal sundress that had a small floral pattern along the bottom of the dress.  I always loved green on her as it seemed to bring out her emerald blue eyes. "Sophia! I heard that the Evermoon family were coming into town today!  Everyone is gathering to try to catch a glimpse of the family!"  The woman said as I blinked, confusion blatant on my face. "Evermoon family?  Lanie, who are you talking about?"  I asked quizzically. "Sophia, the Evermoon family are one of the most powerful and high ranking families around.  They also have been rumored to strike down enemies without a second glance.  Everyone tries to get on their good side in hopes of gaining their favor.  I'm surprised you've never heard of them." I felt a sharp pain on the side of my head as I tried to recall the Evermoon family.  Wincing, my memories came up foggy. "RUN!"  A familiar voice screamed in my mind as I clutched my head with both hands, my pitch black locks bunching up in my hands as I tried to place the voice.  My breathing quickened as I felt an overwhelming urge to run. "Sophia, are you okay?!"  Lanie's face was painted over with worry.  She took a few steps towards me as she slowly and cautiously extended her hand.  As the hand touched me, I looked up at Lanie with fear; my feet grew a mind of their own as I turned around and ran from the town.  A small thump was heard as I ran but I couldn't bring myself to look back and figure out what it was. "Sophia!!"  Lanie cried out as she attempted to chase me before noticing my bag of herbs on the ground.  She picked it up as I fled.  “What about work and the restaurant?  We need to run it together!”  She yelled after me but I ignored her. "What got into her…?"  Lanie wondered.  My head throbbed as the voice in my head echoed “Run!”.  The trees and vegetation in the forest blurred by me until I came into a clearing.  Keeling over, my knees hit the muddy ground and my hand flung up to my heart as I tried to catch my breath. My pitch black hair fell in front of my eyes like a curtain while I knelt over.  Why did I react that way?  It made no sense.  I’ve never reacted that way in my 20 years of life that I could remember.  I couldn’t place that fear, no matter how hard I tried. Shaking my head, I tried to clear my thoughts.  My senses were heightened due to this untameable fear and I felt like I heard every rustle of leaves or crack of a twig. “Please calm down, Sophia.  Please calm down.”  I whispered, begging my heart to slow down while it threatened to break my rib cage at how hard it was beating. Slowly calming myself down, my breathing started to become normal.  I took a deep breath and looked around at my surroundings.  Very quickly, I realized that I didn’t recognize this part of the forest. “Oh no, I’m lost.”  I whimpered.
