Andrea was born different. She was born as a descendent of the Moon Goddess and part daughter of the Sea. Her world is in peril, and as a guardian of her kind, she strikes a deal with Hades. She will marry his son and Hades intervenes in a war threatening to end all werewolves and magical creatures alike.

Cole has been avoiding relationships his entire life. He wanted to be nothing like his father. He didn't want to trap anyone into this life of war, strife and greed that comes with being an Olympian. Suddenly a beautiful girl is thrust into his life. This deal can't be easily broken as it was struck in blood. It becomes even harder to resist when the Moon Goddess makes them mates. Now he must choose, keep her at a distance, or bring her close.

A Trip to the Underworld
Andrea The following day, I woke up in my sister Alice's suite. The last few months have been incredible. My whole life was shared with my mother, and occasionally in the ocean with my father. I am a hybrid, part Lycanwerewolf and part Mermaid; I was not accepted in either world. My mother's pack rejected her because of her relationship with my father, and Poseidon's daughters did not like me either. The world tends to reject those of us who are different. In recent months, I have had six sisters and their mothers who have all accepted me with open arms. I have never felt so loved and accepted in my life. Now I have to leave that comfort, but part of me is happy to do it. I love these sisters and want the best for them. They risk losing pack members and their packs losing their Luna... I just risk losing myself. Eventually, I convinced myself to get out of bed. So I walk into Alice's kitchen and find my other sister Amber in the kitchen with breakfast and coffee. "I thought you'd get up early," she says with a half mile. "You called your mother and said goodbye, right?" she asks, double-checking. "Yes, Sister Dearest, I did," I say back with a little sass. She rolls eyes at me. "I also packed a camping backpack. There is enough dried food and water for a month," Amber says, handing me a black backpack. In addition, there is a tent and sleeping bag attached to the outside. "Well, I hope it doesn't take me a month," I say with a smirk. "I know, I know. I overpacked for you, but just in case." As Amber says, she takes me in a hug. I feel her holding back tears. We are best friends and distant cousins, but she feels like the best older sister I could have ever asked for. "No crying. I'm coming back, I promise." I say back. "You're right. I believe in you; you have the best chance to survive. Plus, you have May. She's a Royal Vampire. That means she's stronger and also has powers; you'll both make a great team." She says this and then takes a big sigh. I took my backpack and went to leave. __ I walked outside and found May in our meeting place. "Are you ready for a grand trip to the underworld?" asks May. She also has a backpack. "Yes, ready," I said back. "I'm going to transport us to the room where we have the portal. As soon as your feet touch the ground, run towards it. My family doesn't know about this trip. I don't let them stop us," she says quickly. "Oh, run fast as soon as we get there," I repeated. May nods and takes my hands. I feel extreme energy around us, and my boots hit hardwood floors. This massive hole with gray smoke coming out of it. We both start running towards it. I heard shouting behind us. I feel fingers brush my shoulder as we leap into the smoke. When our feet hit a dark stone path, I get myself in a fighting position, expecting something to come out and attack us. There is nothing, though. Nothing but a dark tunnel leading the other way. "This was my great grandfather's private entrance to Hades. They became great friends, and my grandfather became an advisor of his. There are no goules in this path. Just darkness," explains May. Darkness isn't a problem for either of us. We can both see in the dark. We start walking, and our steps echo loudly down the path. "How long is this path?" I asked. "Not sure, but it took my great grandfather a day to get to Hades. He was running at full vampire speed. So I'm going to guess it'll take us three days. Considering you're fast, but not a royal vampire fast," says May, with a little bit of a smirk. We both started running at a good pace. Between being Lycan and being part royal mermaid, I am strong and have endurance. I can even tap into my Aura if I start to get tired. That is something Amber taught me. I am already missing a warm home with my sisters. We ran hard for sixteen hours. But, even by tapping into my Aura, I need to stop to eat and sleep. We paused and set up camp. Both of us set up our tents. I looked at the ceiling and it was nothing but darkness. I'm going to assume I can light a fire here to make food. The smoke disappears above us with no smell left. In this place, an in-between world, I boil water and make some dried food. Amber packed a bunch of my favorites, but in dried form. Currently chowing down on six packets of Mac and Cheese. I take a sip of water and look at May. She is eating something dried and red. "I brought two months' worth of dried vampire food," she says, seeing my stare. "Oh, gotcha. I didn't realize that was a thing," I said. I see dried ice cream bars here too. Moon Goddess bless Amber for this food. "Yeah, as technology has increased, so has our ability to make food substitutions. Long gone are the days of hunting live animals or people. Most of our blood is just clones of old blood. Some older vampires prefer animals, but I'd rather have these", she held up the dark, dried red square that she was eating. We finish our food, and we head to our tents. I plug my phone into a portable charger. Not that I have a signal, but I want to set the alarm for exactly six hours. I lay down in my sleeping bag, and then I realized something. If our Guardian signal can reach anywhere in the world, even across the oceans, maybe I can contact one of my sisters or my mom. I tried my mom first. Nothing. Dammit. I'm going to try Amber. It's faint, but I can hear her. "Andrea? How is it going? I didn't expect our mind link to work down there," she says. I can hear that she must have been sleeping. "It's going... It'll probably take us three days to get there, even running at full speed. We set up camp. Thank you for the dried Mac and Cheese and ice-cream bars. That made my night." I said back to her. "You're welcome. I'm glad it's going well. Have you been attacked at all?" Amber asks. I can hear the obvious worry in her voice. "No, I guess May's grandfather became one of Hades's friends. This passage was for his personal use." I replied back to her. I'm starting to feel exhausted. "Well, that would have been nice to know. Then I wouldn't have been so worried, but vampires tend to keep their secrets to themselves. It has kept them alive," Amber replies. "True," I said back with a huge yawn. "Get some rest, and mind link me when you're up. Feel free to mind-link me at any time. I will wake up and answer," says Amber. "Thank you. Good night, big sis," I said back. "Good night, little sis," she says back. As soon as my head hits the pillow, I fall asleep. It's been two days of running our @sses off and camping. I can finally see a dim light at the end of the tunnel. The tunnel ends, and we run straight into Hade's throne room. Sh*t! This isn't good. I see Hades sitting on a simple but black throne. He looks like a Poseidon, but the opposite. Poseidon has blonde hair and blue eyes, and is generally pretty happy. This guy has dark hair, eyes and severe frown lines. On his left is a stunning woman. She must be a kind of goddess. She has bright red hair and blue silver eyes. "That tunnel has been kept up for a friend of mine. So who the hell are you?" __ It has been three weeks since I offered myself to Hades and his wife, the Goddess of Mars. It sounds terrible, but it might be worse. The Goddess of Mars is gracious... and has had a positive influence on Hades himself. Plus, I'm not stuck down here forever. I have to go to the ocean occasionally, or I will die. I've never been so thankful to be a Mermaid. My father is the general of Poseidon. When Poseidon found out about my meeting with Hades, he threatened Hades, thinking he was keeping me here against my will, but then I showed that I was here willingly. Poseidon and I aren't related, but my dad is like a brother to him. I could see the pain on his face as I told him why I had made the deal. A wizard had begun to raise different creatures from the dead. I am one of the Seven Lycan Guardians that the Moon Goddess has chosen to protect our kind. I did what I had to do to save lives and I don't regret it. I did bargain, though. My mother and my sisters are allowed here anytime they or I want. I refuse to be separated from my girls. In exchange, I'll marry their son and have their heir. They agreed, of course. Mostly because finding any sort of Demigod is impossible these days. My mother came from a line of Werewolves called Lycan's. They were the Moon Goddess's children. The Moon Goddess was so lonely creating mates for everyone else that she found one for herself, but that's a story for another time. My father is a merman and part of Poseidon's court. So I am part Lycan and part Royal Mermaid. So I'm rare-ish, I guess you could say. I look like a regular human, a bit tall, but still normal. My sisters say I have "California girl' vibes, whatever the hell that means. I can shift into a large white wolf or mermaid, but I like being in my human form. I am currently in my room and painting my walls. I know that all the dead end up in this room, but I refuse to live in all red and black decor. About ten servants have offered to paint this room for me, but I keep refusing. I am bored as hell, in hell. My sisters keep showing up with random bits to make my room feel better. So far, I have received the paint, bedding, beach photos, light wood end tables and a new bed... that came through the already put together portal. I have no idea how Amber managed this, but bless her for it My personal servant, Maya, told me the Son of Hades would be at dinner tonight. My first time meeting, I betrothed. Hades has a reputation for being brutal and cruel. I can't imagine his son would be any different. I figure meeting my betrothed, covered in paint, would not be the best idea. So I headed for a shower and to make myself presentable. Maya is smaller in statue and looks young. She was kind to me while I was here, but so far she has not been quick to offer many details about herself I finished my shower, and Maya laid out the clothes I asked for. I picked out a long white, sleeveless sundress with brown sandals and shell earrings. When I'm not in the ocean, I miss it. So having shells on me helps for some reason. Maya comes in and helps me with my hair. It's insanely long and blonde. She curls it faster than I ever could, and adds some fishtail braids. She even weaves in some shell pins. Next is my makeup. She does a bunch of gold eyeshadow, bronzers, and extra mascara. I'm shook by how good I look. "Maya, you made me look like a Goddess of the beach! Thank you!" I said to her. She blushes and mutters her thanks. Cole I've been avoiding my parents for weeks. I've been traveling anywhere but back to hell. Apparently I'm betrothed. The servants tell me that she's part werewolf and part mermaid. She sounds hideous to me. I'm supposed to have babies with this creature. Great. I run my hands through my hair. I've already started looking for ways to get this girl out of this deal. But hideous or not, she deserves my protection, and the best place for her is not here. I am the son of Hades and the Goddess of Mars. I am supposed to take over my father's duties eventually. That involves marrying someone and producing an heir. There is no way in hell that I would force anyone to live this life. It's depressing here. Not to mention the constant bloodshed and war between the gods. Or the politics and manipulation that it takes to stay at peace. Oh, I can go to earth alright, but I still have to come back here. I'm still bound to this place. This realm is where some come to die. My father's job is to sort them and keep peace here. Sounds like fun, right? I walked into my parent's dining room. Late as usual. My mother's best friend, the Moon Goddess, is here. She is talking to this stunning human. She looks like a ray of sunshine in this dark place. She's tan, with long blonde hair curled and braided. She's wearing a white dress, in hell. I almost wanted to laugh at that. I walked toward her like a magnet. She looks at me now and smiles. s**t, is everything about this woman beautiful? Her eyes are this piercing gold color. My own breathing stilled. I will introduce myself, and my mother talks over me. "Cole! You've finally returned. I'd like you to meet your betrothed Andrea.". There's no f*cking way that this beauty is the creature, it is the one I had been told about. "Ah, hi... I'm Andrea." says the beauty as she sticks out her hands to shake mine. I snapped out of whatever trance I was in. "Hello, I'm Cole," I snapped, shaking her hand. I felt sparks as soon as we touched, and immediately dropped her hands: "What was that?" I asked out loud. The shock of whatever this creature was hitting me full force. Everything about her seemed to pull me towards her. "I have blessed you two and made you mates," says the Moon Goddess. "You have made us what?" I asked. Barely hearing what the Moon Goddess said. My main focus is on the woman before me. Who was currently fidgeting almost excitedly and trying to hide it. The Moon Goddess explains, "Andrea, here's a special kind of werewolf, a Lycan. She is from a line that came from my own children. She can only marry someone from a royal line. In a werewolf's world, that would be an Alpha. I have searched and searched and couldn't find anyone compatible with her. So when your mother told me of their plans, I decided to bless you with the mate bond. I've always been fond of you, Cole. Don't make me regret this choice.".
