Slave or Queen

I am Tania Vandessay and 23 years old. I was born to single mother and we live in a studio at Colombo, Sri Lanka. My mother Daisy Vandessay is 60 Years old now and a retired secretary. I was a gift from her ex-Boss and my so-called father has not turn up to see us from the day I was born to this world. This is my bitter truth. “Tania…. Have your breakfast before you leave…” I heard my mothers’ voice from kitchen. She always takes care of me and worried about my future. “Coming Mum…” I answered and ran to washroom to clean myself as I have an interview at Hanson Group of Company. I have applied for so many jobs, but this is the first one I got a call for an interview. I am a Business management graduate, but I was doing part time jobs to look after my family. “Tania…. Come dear… you will get late…” Mother called me again while I was getting ready. “Coming... coming… two minutes…” I hurried and ran to kitchen. “Good morning Mum” I hugged her. “Good morning my darling… I made bread with fried egg and orange juice. Nothing much at home so this is the best we can do for today….” Mother said it in a worry. “This is all good Mum... I always like simple breakfast. You know it” I smiled and answered. I sat and start to eat. It’s only 15 minutes left as I should run to bus station. “Ok Mum and I am leaving now. Wish me luck…” I hugged her and ran out from home. I was heading to bus station and praying inside myself to God for this job. I am desperate to get a regular employment. I am tired of been part timer. I must look after my mum very well. Part time job income was not enough to cover her medical expenses, home rent and our day to day needs. I got down from Barns’ place bus station and start walking to Hanson Group of Company. It is very famous, so all knows the location. It is a dream to get a job in this company. I came in front of the building and stop at security barrier. “ Yes, Ms… How can I assist you?”  Security officer looked at me and asked. He was very decent. “ Hi! I am Tania Vandessay. I have an interview in marketing department.” I said “ Ohh ok… Can I see the invitation letter?” Security officer asked me again. “Yes, This is the letter…” I showed the letter to him. “Ok, You can go inside. Take first left and there is elevator. From there your can go to 4th floor and asked reception to assist you. Have a nice day!!!...”  Security officer said and opened the gate to for me to go inside.
