Prologue
Fiona Howe was driving on her way back home from work and singing along to Spice girls wannabe when the radio presenter interrupted.                        “And that was Spice girls iconic wannabe we just played. This is the radio music request. You know our lines, call us and make a request.” The voice announced.                        “Hello?” A woman who had called the station said. “I’m Alice and I want you to play me Amazing grace by Elvis Presley.”                         “Are you kidding me? They turn down Spice girls for this? Come on.” Fiona complained.                          Elvis Presley’s amazing grace started to play and a very annoyed Fiona was about to change the station when a call came in. It was her seventeen year old daughter Denver.                          “Sweetheart.” Fiona answered all smiles.                          She heard her daughter laugh over the phone. “Hi mum. Where are you? It’s almost ten. Denis and I have been worried sick about you.”                          “I know, I know and I’m very sorry. We had a lot of customers today, so there was no way I could leave on time and traffic. Unbelievable.” Fiona apologized as she swerved her car to a different lane.                            “Well I made pasta. I don’t want you to come and meet it cold.” She heard Denver say.                            “I can not wait to have that. I am literally starving. How was school?” Fiona asked as she horned at a very slow moving car.                            “Basic. I got an A minus in my English test today.” Denver said.                           “An a minus? What happened to getting pluses?” Fiona frowned.                           “Nothing really mum. I’m still an A student. There’s no beating that.”                           “That’s my girl. And what about math?”  Fiona asked.                             She heard Denver chuckle over the phone. “Let’s not even go anywhere near there.”                           “Alright alright. I hope Denis is helping you out with it.” Fiona laughed. “Where is your brother?”                           “Sleeping. As usual.” She heard Denver say.                           “I’m not surprised.” Fiona said. Denis was in fact almost always sleeping, eating or sitting by an easel painting or sketching on his desk.                           “That’s a lie mum I’m awake!” She heard Denis say in the background.                           “Oh hi Denis. How is my grey haired monster doing?” Fiona joked.                           Denis growled. “Mummmmmm.”                            Fiona laughed.                           “Come home mum. Tomorrow is Saturday and we need to watch movies. We made plans already.” Denver said.                           But Fiona was not listening. Fiona looked in to her rear view mirror. A black Jeep that she had left a long time ago seemed to be following her in a close range distance, but she was suspicious.                            “Mum did you hear what I said?” Denver said.                           “Mmmmhmmm.” Fiona said her mind very much far away. She decided to make a turn on a different lane and when she did, there was no more trace of the car.                            She breathed a sigh of relief. “I’m sorry dear. You really shouldn’t be bothered. I will be home soon.”                           “Promise?” Denver asked.                           “I promise.” Fiona said.                           “Alright mum. Love you.” Denver said.                           “I love you both.” Fiona said with all love and emotions.                           Then Denver cut the call and everywhere was quiet. Fiona looked at the radio and thought of turning it back on, but decided against it.                           She hummed as she drove down the lonely road.                            Then from absolutely nowhere, she saw bright headlights from behind. It was the same Jeep. Her heart began to beat rapidly. Her instincts told her to increase speed which she did. To her utmost fear and shock, she saw the Jeep increase speed too.                           She started to speed in a frenzy and they followed her. It was her worst nightmare. She knew who they were and knew they had finally come for her. Then she thought of her twins and she became scared for them.                            She started panicking and started making some strange incantations. She had to protect them. No matter the cost. She had to ask them to help her children. She knew they always accepted last wishes. This was her last wish.                            She struggled to keep the distance at least, hopefully, until she was on the highway. People were there and would know she was being followed. She stepped on the accelerator with all force ahead of the highway which was only a few seconds away.                            Then from nowhere, her car exploded and she blacked out completely.                                                                                            *                           Two men in suits came down from the Jeep. The first went to take a closer look at the explosion. There was almost nothing left of it. There was no way any one could have survived that.                            He returned back to his partner and nodded in approval. His partner removed his phone and made a call.                           The receiver picked and the man said. “It’s done.”
