Meeting Him
It was as if someone had hit slow motion on the remote of my life as I sat completely horrified as my beautiful now totaled 2002 Pontiac fire-bird the once glossy red paint now shredded like a cats toy. The once pristine white picket fence lay in shreds under my tires. Dogs and humans alike were barking furiously at my brother and I as he sat frozen hands clutching the steering wheel in what was either shock or fear.  I didn't care enough to try to decipher which of the two it was as I turned my now lethal gaze on him. I took a slow breathe (violence is not the answer violence is not the answer). f**k that. "Tyler you just wrecked my baby !" I screeched.  "Do you have nay idea how expensive it's gonna be to fix this ! She's vintage you nimrod" I stepped out of the car kicking the wheel in frustration as my door just fell to the ground as the hinges gave way.     "it's not my fault" He protested weakly as he opened his door causing an awful screeching noise. "Oh and how so, were you not the one driving ?!?" I yelled taking a step towards his lanky frame. "You distracted me by playing that god awful oldies music" He said shrugging non nonchalantly.  "The backstreet boys are not old and_" My rant was cut off as a new voice took over. "Step away from the car with your hands up" Yelled an angry little police man who's face turned redder with each word. I slowly complied glaring at my brother the entire time. The officer strutted up to us, well strut might be better described as a waddle, but now didn't seem like the time to point that fact out. "How did this happen" He grounded out his voice taking on what might have been intimating had he not been huffing from the short walk from his car to the wreck. "I'm sorry sir I was teaching my brother here to drive, and he lost control of the vehicle" I said mustering my big girl voice. However my disheveled frizzy red hair black crop top and skinny jeans did not give off the good girl vibes. "License miss" he said holding his hand out. I reached into what was left of my pride and joy, pulling out a brown leather backpack my mother had bought me on field trip right before she died. "Boy you got one as well ?" He said gesturing to Tyler who shrugged pulling out his wallet. "please don't say anything stupid" I prayed to the God above, you see Tyler had a tendency for getting into trouble with the law and he has yet to learn when not to be a smart ass. "Sure I'll show you mine if you show me yours" Tyler replied wiggling his eyebrows at the officer who's face now returned to tomato red with rage again.  "Listen here son-" The officer began to lecture and scold Tyler his face growing redder with every word, I tuned out the lecture he was receiving and looked in dismay at my car. I ran my hand over the hood shaking my head knowing even the best body shop wouldn't be able to restore her to her glory. My thoughts were interrupted as the officer who had now called for backup slammed Tyler into the side of the car causing my door to completely fall off as he slapped a pair of cuffs on him. I watched as they began to drag him toward the police cruisers my face emotionless.  "Lilly do something" He yelled desperately. "Officers I'll drive him home, oh wait a minute YOU RUINED MY CAR" I said venomously as they pushed his head down and into the waiting police cruiser. I grabbed what I could salvage from my car and looked for my cell phone only to find it crushed in the door. This just keeps getting better and better, I thought as I picked up my backpack making my way toward the bus stop down a few blocks. The sun was setting and grey clouds began to fill the sky threatening to mimic my mood I shivered as a cool breeze tickled my stomach. As I neared the bus stop I looked in horror as I watched the bus driver open the doors nearly a block away. I raced toward the bus as fast as my legs would carry me only to make it just in time to hear the doors slam shut and diesel engine pull away from the curb.I watched as a little boy pointed at me laughing. I being the mature adult I am flipped him off, he quickly gasped and began tugging at what I presume was his mom as the bus sped away.  I shook my head no point in waiting another hour for the bus to round again I could walk home in that time. I began walking grumbling to myself and glaring at anyone who glanced at me. The ground shivered as thunder rumbled through the air. Great my luck I am going to be stuck in the rain. The thought had no sooner passed through my head when I felt the first few drops of cold rain drip on to my face. I picked up the pace speed walking towards my house not bothering to really watch where I was going just knowing I needed to get home now or I'd be enjoying a cold shower. No phone, no car, no one to know where I was, yep this was just fan freaking tastic. I stepped off the sidewalk onto the street in an ally way only to step into a large puddle of water throwing me off balance and butt first into the water running off from the nearby gutters.  "Are you serious" I screeched at no one in particular grabbing a rock and launching it into the dark ally way. I was not expecting the sound of it contacting with metal and the roar of an engine to accompany it. f**k, I thought miserably I pry just nailed someones car and will have another bill to pay. I looked up as a single headlight shone brightly in my face blinding me and a black motorcycle came roaring into view stopping just inches before me. The figure on the motorcycle bounced an object in his hand. The rock. He dropped it at my feet.  "Look I didn't mean to hit you" I yelled above the now torrential down pour. "Sure, what are you doing out here anyway" replied a deep voice that both made me curious and threatened danger all in one. "Just deiced to take a walk and enjoy the beautiful weather." I replied sarcasm and rain dripping. The man paused his head tilting slightly. "Need a ride"  "On that thing, Hell no like I said I'm enjoying the weather" I said standing up and grabbing my backpack. I swear it looked like he shrugged but my vision was blurry from the rain. "Suit yourself, oh and if you ever touch my bike again you will not leave my presence unscathed." he said his voice nearing a growl at the end. The man gunned the bike leaving me cold and wet and wondering just who he was. One thing was certain I really wanted to see him again.
