Chapter I
Alanna McGalister was the daughter of Lauren Linnington and Timon McGalister. Alanna had lived most of her summers in the castle in Whales or at her uncle’s large and lush estate in Lexington. Her uncle was the extremely rich and powerful Charles Linnington. He was a proud man and proud of his house and its history. He was a very tall and wide man and was well in age. Although he was in his near sixties, he was rather handsome what with his blonde short hair that he wore slicked back and those bright green golden eyes. Charles was the head of his house. His house was large and had many rooms. It set on the sea side and he had become rich from the fishing company that he had built years and years ago. His house, which for better terms was a castle. Dozens of rooms that held many libraries, dining halls, great halls, chambers, you name it it was there. Next in line for the house was his oldest son, Alex. Alex was a spitting image of his father, but his eyes were blue and much softer than the harsh and extremely cold gaze of Charles. Charles had three children and his middle daughter Alexandria was the queen of Wales. She looked more like her mother, who had sadly passed away when the sickness spread through the lands several years back. Her mother had been a short woman, skinny, long lush blonde hair, bright blue eyes that always seemed to smile. Then their youngest brother and youngest son of Charles was Daniel. He was short in stature and walked with a limp that was given to him during a battle that held a few years back when Scotland attempted to take the crown of Wales. Needless to say, Scotland did not succeed thanks to Charles and his vast army that he had under his control. Getting back to our young girl, Alanna. She was a rather posh and young woman. She wore fancy dresses in the summer while at her uncle’s estate. Wearing his house colors to show respect was important to her above all else. She always came there for the Summers to be taught by her uncle. He was an extremely smart man. Smart as one would need to be in order to become rich off the backs of other men. Her dark raven hair that she had acquired from her father’s side of the family was odd to see in the Southern part of the country. People weren’t use to see such a dark hair color and ghostly skin like Alanna sported. There was one thing that came from her mother however and that was her eye color. All the members of her family on her mother’s side either had bright blue or green eyes that were laced with flecks of gold deep within them. Charles Linnington had done his best to avoid all of the feelings he had for his niece, but with each fleeting moment she looked up at him with wide blue and golden eyes he found his hold on himself slowly slipping. "Uncle?" Her soft voice called out to him as she looked up at his odd expression. In all twenty-three of her years she had never seen him look that way. He seemed like he was fighting something and little did she know she was right. Between her large plump breasts and the soft looking lips that were displayed to Charles as he was attempting to further tutor the young woman he found something ignite inside him. Something that the man had been trying to kill for years. A feeling that had only grown, much to his dismay, more and more the longer he had to look at her each Summer she had come here to seek his teachings. And before either one knew what was happening Charles Linnington leaned in and kissed the young woman. Her eyes widened as her whole body stiffened and her mind went blank. She was attempting to figure out what was happening until she finally decided to just allow it. She had been attracted to her uncle, as sick as it was to say, but she couldn't help it. Between the way he carried himself to how smart he was she found every fiber of her body wanting to be closer to him. And apparently he felt slightly the same with her. "Uncle?" "Hush Alanna." He said pulling away from her lips and pulling her up from her chair and pressing her back against the table. She felt her heart racing in her chest as Charles's chest heaved from the kiss. He leaned over her body and continued to assault her lips. Her lessons long forgotten. Alanna felt her cheeks grow hot recalling yesterday's events. Her uncle had done what she'd always dreamed of him doing. He had put his lips just about everywhere on her body that was exposed by her dress. But that was all he had done. He didn't take it further than that and even though she was slightly disappointed she understood that there would have been serious consequences had they continued in the manner that they were doing. She loves her Uncle dearly but she never expected anything like this to happen. And there she sat in her room at his home as her summer was coming to a closing. She had a sketch pad in her lap as she sat in the window of her bedroom. She was looking out among the many bushels of forestry that stretched for as far as the eye could see. She wondered what would happen after the Summer's end. Would she be sent back? Back to the North where it was boring and where she had to be away from everything that was happening around here. Where she would have to be away from Charles? Feeling her heart ache she shook her head. She didn't want to be away from Charles now. She wanted to explore these feelings and these actions further. She was a McGalister after all so adventure was in her blood. And the Linnington half was lusting. Both were a dangerous combination to have and the Gods blessed her with both. Between her slightly tanned skin and her dark wavy brown locks she was beautiful to anyone who had eyes. And her bright blue-golden gaze was stunning. She recalled Charles pressing her body against the table. His lips traveling over her hot skin as his hands moved over her clothed body. She still had her maidenhead, her parents never bothered with trying to marry her off. They wanted her to have found that person that would love her for herself. Not because of who she was or her family. There came a knock on her door. Figuring it was one of the maids she called for them to enter. "M'lord asks to see you M'lady." The woman said as she opened the door and stood there for a moment. Alanna felt her heart racing as she nodded and scooted off the ledge of the window. The maid waited until Alanna followed behind her as she brought her to Charles's office. Once the maid knocked, entered, and announced Alanna the woman quickly left the two of them alone. Alanna walked inside her heart racing not really knowing what to expect this time around, but wishing for a repeat like yesterday. "Shut the door." Charles ordered as he sat behind his desk scribbling down some notes on parchment. Alanna gave a slight nod before she did as she was told and closed the door, trapping the two of them in together. She inhaled deeply before moving away from the door. Her legs brought her in front of the desk before Charles and she watched the man writing down letters on the paper. She too could read and write all thanks to him and taking the time to teach her. She waited until he turned his attention toward her and put the quill back into the pot of ink. His nearly similar eyes looked up at her and she looked down at him. "Uncle? You wished to see me?" "I did." He replied as he pushed his chair back and went to stand. He walked around his desk and picked up the mug of wine and poured a little into two cups. One for himself while he walked the other over to Alanna. "I, as a Linnington, would like to apologize for my behavior yesterday." Charles's words made Alanna's heart drop a bit. "It was prude and completely wrong of me to take advantage of you like that. I hope that you can somehow find it in yourself to forgive me, my lady." He said with a slight bow as he turned from her and went to look out the window. Garnet swallowed softly now holding the cup in her hand looking at Charels's strong back. "No." She said softly looking st the floor. She heard a scuffle which was most likely Charles turning around to look at her. "No?" His tone slightly irritated. Alanna's face scrunched slightly as she nodded her head once. "No. Because, because there's nothing to forgive because... because I liked it." She said her fingers tightening around the cup before she slid it over to the edge of his desk. Her heart was racing. It was in her ears and she could hardly breath with this damned corset constricting her waist and lungs. "You what?" Charles questioned. His voice icy and cold. Wanting signs were all around. She knew that if she didn't say something quickly he'd become very angry very fast. "I enjoyed it." No. "I wanted it to happen." Shut up. "I want it to happen again." Oh Gods no. "Because I've wanted it for a long while, Charles." Alanna said finding the courage to glance up and see the icy glare of Charles Linnington. Terror stuck her every fiber as she swallowed harshly. "Get out. You're a disgrace to your family." Charles sneered with a look that seemed like it could kill. For that split second Alanna felt afraid of the old man. She felt stupid for the confession and not having been able to just accept the apology and went on with her life. Quickly standing her nearly tripped over herself as she walked quickly toward the door and left. Her legs moved swiftly through the corridors as her chest heaved and her throat began to sting. Luckily she had made it back to her room and locked the door before throwing herself down onto the bed. She cried harder than she ever had in that moment. Alanna felt horrible. She wanted to leave and just return home. She didn't know how she could stay here any longer having to be in the same four walls as Charles after what he had told her. She wasn't a disgrace. He was the one that kissed her. She lowered her head to her table in her room and sighed deeply. She hated the feelings she had come to have for her uncle. She hated them so much. There had to be something that she could do to change them or to make Charles not be as displeased with her any longer. Huffing and standing up from her seat she looked at her door. She looked at it for a moment before she decided that she'd go and speak to her uncle about returning home early. If he didn't want her around either then she'd just go. It didn't take her long to get to his room. Knocking she heard him allow her to enter. When she did she noticed him glancing out his window and not being behind his desk for once. "Uncle, I wish to return home early." She said just throwing it out there and not beating around the bush. Charles turned his head and looked at her with his brow raised. "Is that so?" He somewhat spat as he gave a slight sassy wave of his head he did when he was having to speak upon a subject that annoyed him. "Yes." "Why?" "Because -- " She paused thinking about the correct words to use with how she felt. Swallowing harshly Alanna raised her head a bit and looked over across the room at Charles. "Because it's obvious that you find me to be a disgrace and I most certainly don't wish to be here knowing you see me this way." Charles didn't say anything to her as he just looked across the room at her. His hands clasped behind his back as he stood there. "No." Alanna raised a brow. He rejected her wish of going home? Why would he possibly do that after everything happened? "Why?" "Because you're here to study. If I send you home without keeping my word to your mother in teaching you what you need to know then my word would be nothing." "Uncle, I'm uncomfortable here. Knowing that I -- " "Enough. You will speak no more on this matter." He said cutting her off. Alanna shut her mouth and did as she was told. Fine. If Charles wouldn't talk about what transpired between them again then she wouldn't bring it up either. "Yes, uncle." She said giving a small bow. The rest of this summer was going to be a long and challenging one.
